This place is amazing. In the remote and gorgeous countryside of the Périgord Noir of the Dordogne, the lovely Italian proprietors Andrea and Barbara do everything to make your stay exceptional. From excellent local advice to a phenomenal homemade breakfast, we felt treated like family. In a stunning country home that has been modernized with many tasteful furnishings, you are...

Excellent is the first word that springs to mind and the one that stays. We had the luck to find this exquisite Chambres d'hotes in Montfort. The Italian hosts, Andrea and Barbara, welcomed us into their home which immediately felt like stepping into a confort zone of tranquillity and harmony. The rooms are spotless and renovated with taste and attention...

We loved staying here, and the Dordogne river region was our favorite area in France. Andrea and Barbara were perfect hosts. They are very knowledgeable about the area, with lots of great suggestions for activities and restaurants. Breakfast was fantastic, with many fresh and locally sourced items. The home and property are beautiful as well, we would be pleased to...

We loved this place; it was only a 10 minute drive to the centre of Sarlat, but Sarlat is so busy and this was so quiet and pretty. Im glad we didnt stay in Sarlat. this place is right on the edge of the village Montfort which is only 3 or 4 restaurants and a 3 minute walk away; which...

We drove through France the last two weeks of May. Luckily we missed the terrible flooding. We were also lucky enough to stay in really lovely B&Bs throughout France. Running a B&B is definitely a labor of love and we really enjoyed them all. One place stands out though as our favorite. L'Ombriere was exceptional. Our room was terrific and...

The best B&B around, great rooms, tastefully decorated in a fantastic estate. The location is perfectly centrally located for sight-seeing nearby the nicest villages in the area and the most wonderful hosts (great handmade breakfast also from Barbara!). Ask for tips on what to visit, eat etc from Andrea and Barbara, two of the kindest people i've ever met. A...

We’ve stayed in many B&B’s across Europe over the years and L’Ombrière is one of our all-time favorites. Certainly the best B&B we have visited in France. Four of us stayed here for 6 nights in October and it was perfect. The location is excellent, in a beautiful spot near the river with easy access to many charming villages in...

This chambers d'hotes is in the perfect location from which to explore the Dordogne. In the quiet village of Monfort you'll be steps away from gorgeous views of the castle, a fun wine bar (owned by Alain) and a couple of basic restaurants. The perfect home base for excursions to nearby attractions including canoeing on the Dordogne, Beynac castle, La...
