We were excited to arrive and when we got there we walked in to a cabin that smelled amazing, So clean and it was just a beautiful weekend (Indian summers are the best!) The property manager cinda met us to make sure everything was to our liking. She was so helpful and pleasant she checked on us each day to make sure we had everything we could want or need. The lake was calm and beautiful sitting by the fire we relaxed every night and had a glass of wine. We will be back next year we found our new favorite spot on the lake!
We have stayed at the cabins under previous management and there was no additional cleaning fee. Property is now under new management and were charged an $85 cleaning fee. When I questioned the additional charge I was told to see the website and that "this is how we operate the Orendaga". I was told that they have spent alot of money making improvements but did not see any changes from our previous stay other than the landscaping was overgrown. I do not have an issue with a cleaning fee being charged if it had been disclosed in the confirmation email.
The Orendaga is in a delightful setting in the foothills of the Adirondack mountains. It is a short and scenic walk to the picturesque small town Main Street in the Village of Northville. We stayed in the Heron Suite and could enjoy sitting on the porch or walking a few steps to view sunset on the lake. The suite was spotlessly clean, comfortable and filled with amenities. The welcoming hosts were always available to answer questions.
We chose here instead of staying in a hotel and are very glad we did. We stayed in the Blue Heron 2 suite. The gas fireplace kept it toasty warm and added ambiance. The bed was comfortable and the suite is large enough for a couple to enjoy. The whole bean coffee provided was a great welcoming touch. Sitting on the porch in the morning with fresh coffee was very relaxing. The fresh homemade soaps were awesome as well. The hosts are great. We will definitely stay here again when we visit the area.
Attended a family wedding and rented 3 cabins. The staff was very attentive and helpful with everything from extra towels to directions and WiFi. The cabins are clean charming and cozy. Free kayaks and Canoes for use. Quite location and fairly rural. The weather was outstanding in August. Check this place out!
We booked two cabins, one for 2 nights and one for 3 nights. The reservation was completely messed up and we ended up coming back from our one day in Spectacular to resolve their mistake. Even after much explanation we were mischarged. The owner was reluctant to admit the mistake and soured our whole experience. The cabins were fine, though we did not have enough linens. We will not be back.
Stayed in the Orendaga cabin four nights. We arrived on Monday afternoon and were initially very happy. The cabin was clean and spacious. After settling in we located to the screened porch. The property is located very near the main thoroughfare with a steep hill. The road noise was horrendous with logging trucks, motorcycles, pickups with loud/no mufflers and general traffic. It finally quieted down about 9:30pm. The rest of the week wasn't quite as noisy, but it was always something: lawn mowers, chain saws, weed wackers and two small children in the house next door about 50ft away. Had to ask for toilet paper and soap the second day as there was no one around the day of check in. Kayaks/rowboats very heavy and no one usually around to ask for permission to use. No swimming allowed. No pottery/art for purchase as advertised. Property near cabin was messy with lots of dead brush/trees on the ground. We did not use the fire pit as there was no one to ask. We were looking for the quiet Adirondack experience...but didn't find it here. Maybe a different time of year would be quieter.…
Just spent 3 nights in the Bluebird Cabin at the Orendaga. Really enjoyed our stay! The cabin has a few quirks, primarily the WIFI, which is only available sometimes on the front porch. It's strongest at the main house, but we worked around it. The upstairs loft bedroom is reached by a metal spiral staircase that children would love but older adults not so much! However, this is a great place for a quiet getaway near a charming town. Also it's a great value for lodging near Saratoga Springs this time of year.
This lovely little organic gem of a lakefront cabin inn is the perfect combination of rustic charm to appeal to your woodsy husband but comfy and cozy enough for your romantic creature comfort wife! We loved the organic coffees, teas and homemade organic soaps that graced our Blue Heron Suite overlooking the lake!! Our gas fireplace and goose down bed added to the warmth, coziness and romance of this inviting suite! The owners of this sweet inn are absolutely precious! We just loved their pottery gallery with many hand crafted items besides pottery! We would highly recommend this organic find to all who appreciate fresh clean air, lovely lake views, organic & artistic charm with rustic refined comfort! Simply lovely!! :)
What an adorable lakeside stay.. Pristine clean, tastefully decorated, simple...easy access to the lake for kayaking or swimming, rowboats as well. We stayed in one of the suites and had plenty of room. Mini kitchen set up no stove .. Had microwave mini fridge and about 4 different ways to make coffee!!! No maid service and no air conditioning however ceiling fan worked and they provided an oscillating fan as well... Nice front porch that looked out to the lake..for the price I think there should have been a few more services but overall was a very nice place for a weekend getaway!!!
