In its heyday, this was probably a beautiful inn. Unfortunately, it’s now run down and poorly maintained. Pros: Pool appears to be newly opened and maintained Short drive to some great restaurants (Burger Diner and the “monistary” on the hill were amazing Complimentary ear plugs to reduce noise of the trains Both mini-fridge and microwave were clean and worked. They occupy half of a closet and the other half is well stocked with hangers Cons: Walls are very thin and excited neighbors can keep you up till the wee hours after which the nearby trains take over. Poor maintenance — our bathroom had a broken toilet paper holder and a sink that drained slowly… and stopped draining altogether our last day. Attendant tried to unstop it with a snake and a coat hanger and then gave up. She said they couldn’t call a plumber because they don’t work on holidays, and their maintenance person didn’t work on holidays either. Doors were worn both from water damage and friction due to poor adjustment. Chest of drawers had loose, wobbly drawers, the “desk” also wobbled and the chair was very fragile as well. Bed sagged in middle, though we were able to sleep ok. Billing is very unorthodox, with different prices each day ranging from $125 a night to as much as $500 one night. The receptionist explained they charge different prices close to the date of West Point’s graduation — the campus is half an hour away. They offer snacks, but only accept cash for them because they’re afraid using a card for anything other than room rent will “mess up” the room payments. The inn offers a complimentary protein-free grab and go breakfast that includes a small muffin, a yogurt cup, Nutrigrain bar and a miniature bottle of water as well as an orange juice. Notes: while the buildings are old and run down, the property has a lot of potential for renovation and improvements in management. The cleaning team does not speak English, but they do a fine job. Some of the lobby staff are as helpful as they know how, but almost all of them seem to lack any training and show limited skills in hospitality. Do not recommend at this time.

Dear Passport698001, Thank you for sharing this experience with us. Arrived to the Inn at 730pm and took the receptionist and hour to get the room assigned. No problem, new staff, new system, I get it. At 1am, I hear bagging at the door from the night receptionist accusing us of being in the wrong room, stating she called the police. Following morning I asked what happened last night and she blasted me for being in the wrong room. ??? Yelled at me and couldn't apologize for their mix up, miscommunication or lack of accountability. What a dump. Ask the police, they'll agree. BTW the officers were professional and apologized for the Inn's mix up. Too bad the night receptionist couldn't do the same. Hospitality on the Hudson is their motto. Time to make changes either to the night receptionist, old lady with the manly voice, or their motto. Something has got to go.

Skip this one. I only stayed here because I needed to be in Peekskill and the HIE was totally booked. Nasty old throw pillow on the bed which canoed in the middle. The room was pretty run down and there were simple cosmetic things that could have been fixed easily but they obviously didn't care about. The train station is right outside your opposite of sound-proofed door and that sh*t is LOUD. I could also hear every cough of my next-door neighbor as if they were in the room with me. The Bathroom fan made a crazy sound like a dying animal. Didn't bother to use the shower as it looked pretty moldy. I feel like there was more but I this is probably enough to give you the information you need.

Rented the last”king room” available for events at West Point scheduled for March 4 and 5. Checked in on March 3 and discovered several hours later that the porcelain paint in the bathtub was peeling very badly and had been concealed by an old and dirty rubber bath mat. We complained at the front desk on the 3rd and were told that no manager would be on-site until the 6th. We also noted that the electrical outlet nearest the door was controlled by the main light switch and would not work unless the main room light was “on”. We emailed the hotel’s info address on the 3rd and were advised on the 4th that we would be moved to a twin room on the 4th and would not be charged for the first night. Staff were apologetic but not sympathetic and not helpful. We requested a late checkout on the 5th and were charged $10/hour for this accommodation. I note also that the advertised continental breakfast consisted of pre-packaged paper “grab-and-go” bags. We will not return to this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel on October 28th while in town to see the Outlaws at the Peekskill Theatre. It's a dive hotel but was clean enough for a guy to stay overnight (my wife would have insisted on another hotel). A few days after my stay I checked my credit card statement and noticed I was charged an extra hundred dollars. I called the hotel to correct the mistake and they said "the housekeeper smelled smoke in your room so they charged a hundred dollars". I've never smoked in my entire life (medical records can prove it) and I was the only one who stayed in the room. This is an obvious scam. I asked the name of the housekeeper and they didn't know who it was. I asked if perhaps the housekeeper smokes and they didn't know that either. This is an obvious scam that the owner Mr. Patel uses to make extra money. He may assume most people won't look at their credit card and notice so God knows how much money he makes off of this. If this happened to you please contact the NYS Attorney Generals office as I will so they will stop this practice.

Rest assured, there is no scam. Rooms are inspected by lead housekeeper every day. When the lead housekeeper reports smoke smell in the room, it is reported directly to management for inspection. Upon inspection, if it is identified as a smoke smell, the guest is charged for damages. It takes time and effort to clean smoke smell out of our rooms. We are a non-smoking hotel.

When entering the bathroom we noticed hair in the bathroom sink and tub. Also, found a finger nail in the bed. It was reported to the office but the clerk said that housekeeping was gone for the day. We cleaned up the room ourselves as no other rooms were available, The door to the room was hard to open and close. After a closer look we saw that the door plate was almost falling off the door frame. It was damaged and not repairable. We slept with the dresser in front of the door. This was reported and they didn't do anything. The towel bar in the bathroom fell off the wall. l think they keep the prices low to attract customers but the place is not safe or clean. Customer service is non-existent.

We were there for an overnight while touring in the area. Room was clean, bed was very comfortable but the room itself seemed a bit tired. Needs some updating. Also, could hear the folks in the next room very clearly and they weren't being boisterous.

Stayed at the Inn on the Hudson one night as a meeting place for family members coming in from out of town. We had five rooms and a great time. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The view was as always, spectacular. The rooms aren't like the Ritz, but neither is the price. Great value for the money. I've stayed here a lot off and on over the years and this visit was very enjoyable! Thank You!

Have been staying here for years. Unfortunately, it is now soooo outdated resulting in irritations on our part. For example, microwave and refrigerator in closet, so no room to hang any pants, just a couple of shirts; front door stuck so difficulty opening and closing; one of the beds squeaked so much that we were awoken several times in the night; few plugs in the room so had to unplug a lamp to plug in a phone charger; no counter space in bathroom, just the rim of the sink. We will not be staying here again.
