I stay at these properties very often. But his hotel charges the prices of a Hilton, with the customer service of a Red Roof Inn. It was atrocious. I stayed here June 14th for one night. I did not have a good experience. The room was not cleaned before my arrival, there was hair on the pillow cases and in the public hair in the bathtub. This is not the standard I'd expect from a Hilton property. There were also people partying in the hallway the entire night, and I called the front desk to complain about the extreme noise level and nothing was done. The next morning, during checkout, I politely mentioned to a manager and let her know about the issues I experienced. She was very apologetic and kind, and told me she would like to offer me a refund for my stay, which was nice and unexpected. She told me I just had to contact the third party where I booked the room, GoSplitty.com and they would contact her and she would approve a refund. The third party was VERY difficult to get in touch with. I had called them many times, and emailed them, and finally 2 months later, they contacted me. They said it would be no problem, and they would call the hotel and get confirmation from the manager and they would refund the night. Well, they called the hotel and spoke to one of the managers, Loya, and she denied the request because she said this never happened. This wasn't surprising, because Loya wasn't the one that I spoke to. So I called the hotel directly to clear it up. Lola answered, and right from the start she was curt. I told her the situation, she seemed annoyed and frustrated, and said she would put me on a brief hold. She came back a few minutes later and said, "I just spoke to the other manager, she said this never happened, and so we're not going to give you the refund." I thought for a minute I was calling the wrong hotel location, but she confirmed this was the one I stayed at. I told her I have no reason to make this up, and go through all of this effort, and maybe because it was in June the manager doesn't remember, but it definitely happened. I tried to explain more and she interrupted and said, in a very rude manner, "We're not refunding you." I said, "Okay, then I guess I'll deal with this through customer service then. Can I have the name of the other manager so I can reference this to them?" And she said, "No, I am not going to tell you her name." I asked again and she said "No I do not have to give you the managers name." I have NEVER stayed at a hotel where a manager refuses to give another managers name! So I realized that Loya was unwilling to help guests properly, so I hung up. I called customer service, told them the situation, and they promptly followed through and offered me the refund I was promised. I would not recommend staying here because if you have any issues, Loya and the "unnamed manager" with not help you. Call customer service instead. Or better yet, pick a. better hotel. There are plenty of other hotels in this area that actually know what hospitality is. …

Hotel's Favourite
We have family in the area from Hyde Park down to Fishkill, and the location of this hotel is right in the middle, making it easy for us to visit them. The property was clean and easy to access. The lady checking us in was very friendly and pleasant, making check-in a breeze. Our room was clean and spacious. The complimentary breakfast was good, offering the standard Hampton Inn choices. Every time we went the front desk when we either left the hotel to start our day's adventures or returned, we were always greeted by the front desk staff with a "have a great day" or a "welcome back". We will definitely book this location again next time we visit family. Plenty of restaurants, shopping, and local attractions are nearby. The Metro-North Train station is close by in Poughkeepsie for day trips to NYC.…

I don’t write a lot of reviews lately, but had to write about our pleasant surprise staying here. When we booked this hotel for a graduation event, I was not sure what to expect. The pictures looked rather grim, but the whole family stayed here, so we did too. To my surprise, the hotel has just been renovated (at least the majority of the rooms). The rooms were much more modern, nice bathrooms and very clean. The breakfast was decent, nothing spectacular but the kids liked the waffle station ans the crispy bacon. Would recommend.

Hampton was a central location and great spot for our family reunion. Staff was GREAT to work with. 28 in our party with a room block and rental on-site of a conference room. We had the Hudson room from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Saturday then used it as a gathering for breakfast --- it's just around the corner from the lobby so we could get the free hot breakfast and eat as a group separate from the other hotel guests. We had an evening meal catered by Rossi and Sons (GREAT Italian food!) which worked out well. The hotel staff were very gracious and helpful with the little details. The new renovations feel great. All in all a wonderful experience

The rooms were fine, however the person at reception was extremely rude. She had no name tag to identify her. To me this,was extremely unprofessional. We asked for our rooms to be together especially since there were young people in our group. We were told You're on the same floor." We travel all the time this Becker happened before.

Brand new mattress made me feel like a king!! Swimming pool is very relaxing. Breakfast is a great start to the day. The leadership and the staff round out the experience, they are top notch and pay attention to your needs. The homemade cookies at night are a nice touch too!!!

The Hampton Inn & Suites Poughkeepsie really know how to make it feel like home. I have stayed at dozen of hotels and this hotel is on the top of the list of best stays/experiences ever. The staff was very hospitable from check in to check out. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was spacious and clean. The indoor pool was so warm and relaxing after a busy day. I wish we weren’t just passing through!

I felt like I was staying at a Days Inn Motel or a Holiday Inn Express, properties that I view to be below my standard. The furniture was old, carpet stained, there was no desk chair (instead they had a meeting room chair), and limited towels and rags.
