Detailed Reviews
The White Pine Lodge was an extremely reasonable option for a family visit over the holidays. Especially given how good the prices are, the rooms are scrupulously clean and the beds are super comfortable. It is very well climate controlled and pretty convenient to nearby attractions (like the casino) but also to Ellicottville and skiing. Other reviewers have mentioned the preorder breakfast, which is a fairly limited selection of prepackaged food. However, I have stayed in hotels that are much more expensive and offered no breakfast at all so it provides a convenient option. We did wish that what used the be the breakfast area and a bar in the evening was still open, there isn’t much to walk to and it would have been nice to have a place to hang out. The pool area is not dirty but is definitely a little dated, still nice to have. The hotel is trying very very hard to be non-smoking but proximity to so many dispensaries is clearly complicating that. The place smells like pot smoke and the very sweat front desk people I mentioned this to clearly don’t have control over it. Just wasn’t great with a child. Overall, there are some minor issues but I would stay here again, especially for the price.

I always try to make my reviews fair and honest and "call it like I see it" . Stayed here on business so I did not pay for the room myself. It is a former Holiday Inn Express so if you are familiar with those you know what to expect as far as rooms and hotel layout. It is starting to show its age a bit in a few ways but by no means shabby. The hotel was VERY clean everywhere. Front desk people were friendly and helpful. Rooms are big and well lit. The bed was nice and there is even a choice of pillow firmness. TV is a bit smaller than the newer hotels but worked well and had a decent number of channels but no Netflix or Hulu options. Not a USB port in the room but plenty of outlets. There is a small refrigerator and microwave and a Keurig. Towels in the bathroom are decent and lots of toiletries. The only downsides were that the pool and hot tub were closed for renovations, and breakfast was less than Motel 6 quality. But-what was their breakfast/lounge area that had been turned in a pot dispensary was gone and I was told they would reopen it for eating and have more food choices. I hope that happens and soon. Time will tell.

I can't say enough on how clean and well put together this hotels was. The staff were super nice and friendly. We were greeted with a little welcome bag which was so thoughtful. The pool area and workout room was clean and well maintained. The grab and go breakfast was great choices of breakfast sandwiches, oatmeal, granola bars, fruit cups, and juice. We will definitely be staying again in the future.

We were in town for a family reunion about 30 minutes away. The staff was very friendly. We checked in and they gave us a slip to fill out for breakfast the next day. The room was “meh”. The carpet was damp near the refrigerator, the room smelled musty. The bed was clean (no bedbugs, clean sheets) and comfortable enough. The breakfast consisted of a beverage, yogurt or muffin, and a frozen entree (egg bites or an omelet) that came with instructions on how to heat in microwave. They should just not offer breakfast. The yogurt was fine, everything else was “school food service” quality. Skip it. They also put a charge in my card for an extra $100 that was supposed to drop off and didn’t. I had to call them and only then was it credited back. I wonder how many people don’t check their credit card after they check out because it’s not a for incidentals charge - it’s a real charge! BTW the Fireside Lounge they have is not open so I don’t know how there was even an opportunity for an incidental charge to occur. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This property is a former Holiday Inn Express. As such it was what you would expect from one-mostly. Convenient to the Casino if that is your thing.Room was very clean. Good amount of hot water and shower toiletries were good. Front desk staff was super friendly. In room coffee is a Keurig which is nice, and a small fridge and microwave. My room faced away from the road and was very quiet.
Breakfast is by preorder and you get a bag with a few items. This is where it differs from a regular Holiday Inn Express: The breakfast area you would expect is being turned into a dispensary!

Booked an overnight here with my travel partner. Both desk clerks were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The pool was closed for repairs (we were told this during booking, so not a surprise). The room was very clean and adequate for an overnight (not huge, but ok). Shower was excellent. Breakfast (chosen the night before) came frozen and didn't look like much, but it was actually quite good. When we over cooked one item, the desk clerk happily supplied us two replacements! Location is central to lots of Salamanca tourist sights, esp. the Seneca-Iroquois Cultural Center. Loads of free parking right in front. If we need a place to stay in this area again, we will definitely stay here. Great value, too.

We stayed here to go to a concert at Seneca Alleghany. This place is very clean and comfortable. The staff are very helpful. The shuttle bus to casino was a plus and on time. Beds are comfortable, nice TV, microwave and refrigerator. Pillows were a little soft for me however. Breakfast was chosen from a menu and put in bag and had a lot of selections. No problems outside of property except people smoking which would lead me to believe it is a non smoking hotel. We would definitely stay here again!

Stayed the night at the Holiday Inn Salamanca, Ny on September 21, 2020. Stopped there late afternoon or early evening while passing through the area. The gentleman who worked the front counter was very friendly and answered several question we had. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and due to covid-19 they let you order your breakfast and have it ready for you in the morning. The tall gentleman who worked the front counter was an excellent employee as was the young blonde haired girl who provided us our packed breakfast. These days of sub-par customer service it was refreshing to interact with these friendly employees. Also a good place to stay if visiting the Ellicotville area.

We have stayed here multiple times on our ski trips to Holliday Valley. Occasionally we stay at the casino next-door. It’s time we had reservations at the casino but they refused to even let us in the door because we have two teenage children and no one under 21 was allowed in the door. They were very rude to us.
So we drove next-door to the Holiday Inn and they could not have been any nicer and more accommodating to us. They got us a great room at a great price. Amber at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. She saved our vacation. Since it was almost midnight and we didn’t know where we were going to stay.
In the morning we had an awesome packed breakfast. We have traveled a lot since Covid and this was the best breakfast and the best experience yet. Highly highly recommend it .

My husband and I chose to give the White Pine Lodge a try because the price was reasonable in comparison to the casino hotel. We were pleasantly surprised the front desk employees were great, the room clean and well stocked, and a really nice to go breakfast. We will stay here again.
