We were able to stay at the mansion May 13 for my husbands birthday. What a wonderful place to stay. George and Martha made us feel very comfortable at the inn. They answered many questions and knew the history of the mansion to a tee. We loved the home made cookies that were consistently available and the brunch was yummy....

I visited Saratoga in 2012 for a convention. For my second visit I decided to do it in style. Batcheller Inn makes quite the impression as you enter. It was honestly a bit spooky (Hello again to the folks I didn't notice were sitting in the parlor that one time I snuck downstairs to get tea and was literally tiptoeing...

The owners and staff at the Batcheller were so welcoming. The Inn is a beautiful old mansion, rooms are large and have modern comforts in a victorian setting. A delicious full breakfast was served in an elegant dining room. Why pay to stay at a chain hotel when you can be in a unique and lovely setting where you are...

Lovely hospitality and room was large and bathroom updated. Breakfast was okay, but the dining room was elegant. This is an historic home usually called a Painted Lady and it is in easy walking distance into Congress Park and Broadway.

This is a charming Inn w a real feel of the past. The manager is attentive and very helpful. She recommended many interesting things for us to see and places to eat and she was spot on. The rooms are huge and very eclectic. The heat is not great in the rooms, so bring extra layers. Everything is original, including...

We stayed in the Maria Pia room. They upgraded us from the smaller room I had booked because it was my husband's birthday, which was sweet of them. Doug and Martha are very friendly and helpful! The mansion is gorgeous and historical, and extremely comfortable, within walking distance of Broadway and Congress Park. The breakfast was good and there was...

We stayed in the Amelia room while in the state for a ball. It was a little smaller than expected, but didn't hamper our experience regardless. We enjoyed our stay, and are planning to come back for another occasion.

My partner and I booked the Amelia Room since we were going to Saratoga to celebrate my son's birthday. The Mansion is beautiful. Martha allowed us to have my son's cake in the dinning room with my family. It was a wonderful special experience. The staff was so accommodating. My 21 year old daughter enjoyed it so much that we...

We rented out the mansion during a conference in Saratoga. The innkeepers were so accommodating and everyone enjoyed their stay. The mansion has a lot of history and it was neat learning about it. The breakfast was amazing! The beds were comfortable and provided great sleep. The mansion is close to restaurants and congress park.

We stayed in the President Grant room for our anniversary and it couldn't have been more perfect. I'd love to go back. The mansion is truly beautiful, staff is friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was so delicious! The whole thing was everything I imagined it to be and more. If you get a chance to stay here, go for...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located in the heart of downtown Saratoga Springs on historic Congress Park, this magnificent inn represents old world sophisticated elegance with a new world attitude. One of America's great Victorian houses, the Batcheller Mansion Inn simply cannot compare to other Saratoga Inns. Built in 1873, this American architectural masterpiece is an elegant mixture of small hotel and living history museum with the intimate feel of a bed and breakfast. Intricately carved European woodwork, hand carved marble fireplaces, family relics on loan from museums, original 1800's Batcheller family furnishings, and spellbinding grandeur make this one of a kind Saratoga inn and living history museum a stately retreat. Throughout the past 137 years, some of Saratoga's grandest parties were staged here, hosting U.S. Presidents, European Royalty, Dignitaries and Hollywood Celebrities. Designed by Nicols and Halcott of Albany, NY in 1873, this High Victorian Gothic mansion exhibits influences from the French Renaissance, Italian, and Egyptian styles. The red and gray slate mansard roof is bifurcated by dormers, each accented by a huge clamshell arch. The ivory stucco facade is studded by a myriad of ornate bays and its conical tower, resembling a minaret, is right out of Arabian nights. That bit of exotica was the result of original owner George S. Batcheller. This Saratoga inn was selected as Inn of the Month in the April 1999 issue of Country Inns. The mansion has also been the subject of many architectural studies, and has been featured in many books and film throughout its history. The Batcheller Mansion was specifically cited as an inspiration by Kevin Cummings, Development Manager for Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort. ... more   less
