A stop over rather than place we'd normally choose to stay but the hotel itself is clean, comfortable & spacious rooms & very well run, nice breakfast too. All is all a reasonable hotel with nice views at the rear too. Approx 5/10 mins by car to town centre. Close to a couple of restaurants nearby but by car. Garage is also nearby which is handy for refuelling.
Dry clean and contemporary hotel. A typical look, just like many others. I stayed here for business in the end of September. When I asked for any toiletries, they did not have any. No complimentary spring water either. The rooms were clean though. It felt as if this hotel was just built.
We stayed at this hotel for one night. The room was clean, large enough, the pool was a little cold but really appreciated and the overhaul site relatively quiet. There is a gas station with a convenient store just around the corner. A very good choice if you are in the city.
My daughter has covid and the hotel refused to refund our room; we did not want to cancel but our daughter tested positive today. They told us they would rather we come with Covid rather than cancel our room and refund us.
New and clean property, the room was well-appointed and surprised to see a microwave in our room which is a plus. Less than 30mins to hunter mountain. Check in and check out was a breeze. The breakfast is a bit lacking and also water pressure in the bathroom (we stayed on the 4th floor) needs some improvement.
We stayed here because we were skiing for the weekend. The hotel advertised that they had an indoor heated pool. There was a pool, but it was not heated, and not warm. After skiing all day we were looking forward to going into a warm pool, we spent $250 on the room. That seems high, considering the lack of amenities.
We attended a wedding that was held at the Saugerties Steamboat Factory from Sept 30 to Oct 2nd. The hotel was fairly new, very clean and while service could have been better, it was sufficient. Like so many businesses there appeared to be a lack of staff available to assist. They didn't have the extra pillows in my room that I'd asked for when I reserved online; they didn't respond to my email; when we got there there was no one to help with the cart and my husband was injured so he had to do it with difficulty. But, the check-in desk clerk brought the pillows to the room. Whenever we needed anything they were accommodating. They gave us the name of a local eatery, Miss Lucy's Kitchen, in Saugerties. Next day, we went to Woodstock for a walk around the town I hadn't been to in years. The beds were comfortable. The only thing is that the room would not warm up and it was cold at night. I slept with my winter coat on. Others have made this comment. They pre- set the maximum room temp at 75 but the room itself wasn't 75 and it was cold and windy outside. The TV guide doesn't work so we didn't know what we were watching. We had to scroll through the channels. But, we didn't really care, the room was spacious. They could have left a couple of luggage stands so we didn't have to leave our luggage on the ground. The room wasn't cleaned at all and it being during COVID we weren't surprised - they just should have told us because we would have taken the garbage out... Nice place but masks were not required indoors and they should have been for everyone's protection... The breakfast was better than some we've been to during COVID... tip - switch the pancake maker to a waffle iron...…
This place is terrible. The room was okay so two stars for that. Everything else was a zero. The kid working the desk at night was nowhere to be found two times I needed them. One time he sitting in the lobby reading. It’s not obvious that he works here. I just thought has was a guest. The second time after looking around for many minutes, when I went out to my car, I found him hanging with his friends in the parking lot. The kicker was breakfast. I arrived at 9:30 AM for a breakfast that was to close at 10. The pancakes were gone. The bacon and eggs were gone. The pastries were gone. You get the idea. So I speak to the woman behind the front desk. I ask if I can get a voucher for a nearby breakfast place. She tells me that she has to call management. I said when. She says they are not here. I say but I want to eat breakfast now. I walk away because I’m not getting anywhere. I decide to get my coffee which by the way I was pretty good and then she comes over to me it says there are bacon and eggs. So the quarters of bacon and eggs are gone but she thought that is biscuit which was called and look like something else McDonald’s dystopian nightmare was bacon and eggs. I will get the picture speaks for itself. This looks like a nice property and I thought that Holiday Inn express was trying to compete with Hampton Inn price and features. Fail! Back to the chain of hotels. Summary Dash decent room, disappearing front desk clerk at night, useless front desk clerk during the day, absence of any authority at the front desk to deal with even a simple issue, management not available, breakfast almost completely wiped out at 9:30 when it was supposed to end at 10. Simply nobody helpful. Find anywhere else. There were several hotels right here including Howard Johnsons and others. Just skip this one.…
Stayed at Hotel on 2 different occasions in July 2021. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was pleasant. Problem was that they advertised hot pancakes for breakfast but the pancake cooking appliance was not working with a sign indicating Out of Order. However, we had been there on 2 separate dates with 8 days apart. Upon further investigation by myself and other patrons, we we informed that the pancakes were not available because the hotel has not obtained the mix and had not had the mix even though covid restrictions have been lifted for several weeks. . The sign was a lie!
DO NOT provide them , with. Credit card , if your company is responsible for the room payment. They billed myself and co workers , for the room , because they didn’t have a piece of paperwork from the company. The best part is we were repeat guests , with several reservations a year. Instead of calling the company and asking for what they were missing , they asked for our cards at check in ( for a “ security “ deposit of 50 dollars ). They billed out cards for the room immediately. The manager is non existent and refused to provide her name . She apparently is managing from her house , so basically is collecting a check but not actually showing up
