A short walk from downtown and an even shorter walk from the parking lot, but do not go barefoot on the path ! Lovely location, pretty, good bird watching opportunities. Well worth the slight detour off Route 87 /NY Throughway

I was returning home from a wedding over the weekend. When I'm away from home and in an unfamiliar area I like to check Trip Advisor to see if there's anything en route that I'd be interested in checking out. Seeing I have an interest in lighthouses, I saw that Saugerties wasn't too far off my route, so I stopped...

Saugerties Lighthouse is an old lighthouse that has been repurposed into a bed and breakfast at the end of a trail along a strip of land jutting into the Hudson River. The trail is open to the public during the day, and you can see the historic lighthouse and get some fantastic views of the Hudson from the tip of...

My family & I stayed one night at the lighthouse in November so we booked the two rooms & had the lighthouse to ourselves. The unlimited access to the lighthouse tower really made the visit. We went up to enjoy the view during the day & evening. The view is spectacular & what gets the stay five stars. There is...

This beautiful lighthouse property is definitely worth braving the tide and 1/2 mile hike. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and check the tide times so you aren't caught when they come back in - the walkway does flood. It's set out on the Hudson River and offers beautiful views of the surrounding banks. You have to be a guest...

They have done a beautiful job of keeping up this lighthouse. Its easy to find and the short walk from the tiny parking lot is quite fun, and full of spots to hide and scare your fellow travellers. Our AirBnB host did warn us to be mindful of the tides, as you can get stuck at the lighthouse or not...

This is a cool little lighthouse. It worth the 1/3 mile walk out there. I'd it's a nice day you can pack a lunch and eat at the picnic tables there. You can only go into the lighthouse on Saturdays for tourism because it has been turned into a bed and breakfast but you can walk the grounds.

Nice easy walk to the lighthouse. Picnic area on the river, rustic but plenty of space. So bring a bite to eat and relax riverside. We saw a bald eagle, an added bonus, which nested across the river. Kids, 4 and 7 were excited to explore along the way. Signs with fish, birds and plants made it a fun educational...

It's a beautiful view of the Hudson , peaceful and tranquil but be sure to check tide chart before going , some parts of the .5 mile trail could be pretty muddy . You can't get into the building itself unless there's a tour .It is private for b&b guests only .

this is a unique, small lighthouse set on the Esopus estuary. There is a half mile hike in over sandy paths and board walks which is a fun adventure itself. People were swimming and wading in the surrounding waters. There are interior tours on Sunday afternoon.
