Awful motel. We were literally stranded - flew into Newark from Munich, took the train and then caught a Lyft for the remainder of the trip home. However, the rain & flooding was happening in real-time so our Lyft driver had to turn around. He dropped us at a restaurant in Stony Point to make a plan. Was not looking like the roads would reopen last night, & this is the only motel option in a large radius.
Rude “welcome” at the front office, smelly dirty room, literally a crack through the door, AC worked but so loud it woke us up every time it turned on.
Word of advice: if you find yourself stranded in Stony Point look for an Airbnb.

My friend and I had trouble finding a vacancy at three other motels/hotels before we were able to make a reservation with Budget Motor Inn. We thought we were lucky we found a last minute place to stay during a busy weekend... we were dead wrong. I now realize that fInding a vacancy in such a great location was an ominous sign.

We did not have great expectations regarding service or quality. Wanted a clean place to sleep for a few hours and leave, we were pleasantly surprised when we walked into a tidy and comfortable room. The carpet was clean and the bed looked neat.

As my friend settled his wallet on top of a the mini-refridgerator, a cockroach was seen scuttling under the microwave. Shocked, we killed it and realized that we were NOT going to have restful night with the Psychological torment of having sleep in a claustrophobic room riddled with vermin hidden in the nooks and crannies of the furniture.

The bathroom was like a nest of roaches. We immediately killed two more roaches in the shower. Roach eggs were visible on the towels. We decided to move ALL our stuff into the trunk of our car and only use the bed as we were dead tired.

We left after 5 hours of sleep. Worst experience ever. This roach motel deserves to be burned to the ground. If you have no concern for your health and enjoy living below the living standards of a modern day hobo - this may be the place to stay. For the rest of us, stay away!

This motel is horrible. We stayed in room #53 and was filthy dirty! There was not even on picture on the wall. The bathroom was horrible and they only gave us 2 very tiny towels. DO NOT stay on the first floor. The people above us woke up at 5:30 a.m. and were stoming around all morning. There is no insulation between the rooms. You hear everything! Very disapointed....Just disgusting!

I am sitting in my car in the parking lot of this hotel because while I was in the room trying to sleep I kept imagining bugs were on me. I was thinking that way because when I first checked the bathroom, I killed a cockroach in the shower. I couldn't use the bedspread because when I pulled it back, I saw what looked to be blood. The wall around the light switch was grimy and the floor was dirty. The towels are thin and worn. The pillows smell like drool and dirty hair. Ick, I will, from now on, read reviews before I rent a room again, and I will recommend that no one give in to the cheap price of this hotel. It is not worth it.

The front desk agent didn't honor the reservation we'd made a week in advance, saying they'd overbooked. When I asked him why he hadn't called us to tell us so before we got there, he laughed in my face.

If you wait too long to make a reservation you may run out of good options. This place would be okay if it cost $35. Any more than that is a rip off and I paid over $80. It is sparsely furnished and provides the bare minimum of amenities. I had a bed and a shower which are welcome after a long day but don't go here unless you are desperate.

I am a 67 year old man who showed up at this motel to register for a room I had reserved for Christmas night. I did not have my license with me because a friend who was going to stay with me drove us down for dinner with relatives. The drive was from Schenectady, about 125 miles. The incredibly rude clerk told me I needed a picture i.d. to register. I didn't have one so I suggested putting the room in my friends name since he had a license with him and the same credit card as my own. The clerk refused, claiming the law requires the person who made the reservation have his i.d. Of course this is not true. I offered cash; this was refused. He suggested my friend rent aother room, but he would be charged and I would not have access to my reserved room but would have to pay since I hadn"t cancelled in time! Of course, I am contesting the charge. I WILL NOT PAY1

My rate would be 0 stars ... im usually not a picky traveler ... as long as i have what i ask for and a bed to sleep im good. But this place is the worst i’ve ever seen! We asked for non smoking room ... it smell like cigarettes in every room! Paper thin wall ... we could hear people upstair walk in their room lile if they were gonna fall down on us. The guy that did our check in was super rude to us ... saying that their room were brand new so non smoking! After 30 minutes in the room we left and they wouldn't refund us ... the smell was soooooo bad. We paid 112$ cad for one night ... its awefully expensive for this crapy place!

My husband and I stayed for 1 night. Spend just for sleep. The room is dark, and it is not sufficient for reading because only 1 small light above bed. No coffee machine, no bath mat, and above shower curtain, a used hand towel was sitting. The curtain and blind seemed to be never changed since it's open. The wall is very thin, and can hear the next room's bathroom usage like in your room. Can hear TV noise from the next room, too. 1 queen bed, 2 soft pillows. But we paid only $65, and what can we say. Check in was super fast and the attendance was nice.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel twice this summer, and it was a decently pleasant surprise.
I own a bed and breakfast upstate and I know what to look for in a hotel room, and how to tell if it is clean and fit or not.
The bed was comfortable and conducive to sleep and the linens were clean, the hotel staff was friendly and quickly solved our minor problems with a smile.
The air conditioning unit in both rooms was exceedingly efficient, case in point: we turned it on and in ten minutes the room was freezing cold, but switching to the heating setting warmed the room back up just as quickly.
The shower was spacious enough for us to co-shower as is our preference, and the nozzle on the shower gave us a wide and voluminous spray of water that easily allowed both of us to rinse, lather and repeat with no effort or shuffling around awkwardly.
The carpets were clean, parking was decent, and the television worked the first time.
The sink heated and cooled water perfectly.
And the room was blessedly free of any sort of pests or rodents.
The location is perfect for where we needed to be, right in the center of town, easy access to restaurants, information, gas stations (one right across the street actually!) and within a stone's throw of the location we needed to be the next day.
Parking is also free in a very decent sized parking lot.

That all being said there are some minor issues to discuss:
On our first stay there was no toilet paper in the bathroom, a problem that the staff quickly rectified for us.
There are only two body towels and one hand towel in the room, not enough for a couple, but enough for a single person, and there is no bath mat to speak of. Coming out of a shower onto a cold tile floor while soaking wet is a slightly precarious position.
There is no provided water or cups in the room, though I did not expect this at such a low price.
On our second stay the television remote had no batteries, not an issue for us as we aren't big television watchers anyway, but could be a problem for others.
Again, there were only the three towels in the room so I recommend that you bring your own, and the soap/shampoo is only in little liquid pouches roughly the size of a McDonalds ketchup pouch, so again, pack your own toiletries.
The staff is very friendly, but requires several promptings on what you are asking for before complying with your request. This isn't so much a problem as they are newly citizens of this country, but it can be frustrating to deal with someone who does not speak your language very well if you aren't forewarned of this issue.
The wifi, while free, is horrendously slow and we resorted to using cellular data on our phones instead of our accompanying iPad and MacBook.

As I stated before, my wife and I own and operate a bed and breakfast/Inn in upstate New York, a family business that I inherited from my parents when they retired. The hotel and hospitality business has been my life's work for the past twenty two years and I grew up around it. From experience, this is not so much a romantic getaway so much as it is an "it'll do" motel for someone on the go, or a new couple to meet up and have a tryst at.
It's not what I would provide to my guests, but it is far from horrible.
Those things all said, we booked the newest rooms in the place, they were put aside in a different building, and made to look more like a honeymoon suite (ish) than a crappy cubicle-style hotel room cut from a cookie cutter mold of every other cheap hotel room ever built and rented.
