My husband and I celebrated our daughter's 31st birthday here with her beau. We were welcomed warmly and immediately were happy with our choice. Stefania, the owner, was celebrating her 25th anniversary at the inn. She was generous to us by upgrading our rooms. The whole inn is large and charming. All the furniture and accessories are well appointed and...

Just back from a lovely week at the Washington Irving Inn in the Catskills where it was warm but not the 120 degree heat index back home. The nights cool off nicely. And there's a pool! Our 6th visit to the Inn did not disappoint. When we arrived Stefania had tea for us- a 3-course tea! The breakfasts- those pancakes!-...

When we drove up to this Inn, I gasped at how beautiful it was and once inside, thanked my husband for making this reservation. He elected to select a room that was not within the inn itself, but part of an add-on section. Even walking up to the room, I was struck at how beautiful the balcony and the grounds...

I had a lovely stay at this beautiful inn during the Fall season. The attention to detail and personal touch was what differentiated this inn from others. I also liked the coziness, and the beautiful antiques. One evening I sat at the bar, chatting with the owner. She made me a cup of tea for my cough, although the kitchen...

Just back from our annual winter stay at the Washington Irving and fell in love again. Truly wonderful to be able to escape the busy NY area and experience the old warm charm and comfort of a classic catskill lodge. The main lobby and library exude what is best about historic inn's and immediately relaxes you on arrival. Stephanie, our...

We absolutely loved staying here. Close to the mountain, very cozy (not small), comfortable, romantic... Our room was great, bed excellent. We even had jacuzzi in the room. The whole interior of the inn, makes you believe that you are in one of the Jane Austen stories. Excellently matched with all the antique things, host besides taking personal care about...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights for a weekend of skiing at Hunter Mountain. The innkeeper, Stephanie, was very accommodating with our late arrival and I was very pleased with her help in purchasing lift tickets, making dinner reservations, and calling a taxi for us. Breakfast was delicious and the portions were very generous. The antiques are...

We stayed one night here to do some skiing at Hunter Mountain. The innkeeper was hospitable without being imposing. The Inn had a very rustic feel to it. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was adequate and served in the dining room. We both found it to be perfect for a one or...

These days it's hard not to be critical when you feel overcharged and under-served, but that is the case with this venue. A frosty welcome to an empty Inn, I understand these are difficult times for independent business owners, but really, if someone does actually show up and pay, make them welcome and be gracious. Bedrooms and public areas are...

Stefania, Thank you for the wonderful hospitality. Your cooking was wonderful....yea on the cranberry scones! Your knowledge of the Inn was so interesting and loving. We have a wonderful sister, mother memory at your home. We loved the peaceful and relaxing feeling! The room was kept clean and felt very authentic for it's era. The location worked well for us...
