We had our dream wedding here and cannot recommend it enough. We specifically wanted a castle wedding where we could bring our own caterer, which many wedding venues won’t let you do. Castle Hotel was able to accommodate us perfectly. We had about 80-90 people and used the dining hall for dinner and the ballroom for dancing, which created a nice transition and both rooms were gorgeous. I would recommend renting your own dance floor, the castle has one but it is small. Yoriko was so helpful and we were very pleased with our rooms. The views and aesthetic are to die for. No spa available right now due to Covid. Thank you Yoriko and Castle Hotel!

The Castle Hotel & Spa is an absolute amazing hotel that’s located within a gorgeously designed historic castle based in Tarrytown, New York. Long before the hotel was established, the Castle had served as the primary residence of successful journalist & businessman, General Howard Carroll & his family. During Carroll’s lifetime, the Castle was referred to as the “Carollcliffe” and was meant to mirror the Norman style castles located in Scotland & Wales and which were deeply admired by General Carroll. Many prominent figures were known to have visited Carollcliffe during the early 20th Century and such guests included American financier, JP Morgan and steel tycoon, Andrew Carnegie. In the early 1990’s a group of investors acquired “Carolcliffe” and helped convert it to a high quality luxury hotel that it is today, while preserving the castle’s stellar architectural features and charm. Upon visiting the Castle Hotel & Spa, my wife and I were instantly mesmerized by the castle’s intoxicating beauty and were deeply impressed with the cleanliness, grandeur and size of our hotel room. In addition, my wife and I also loved the estate’s magnificent manicured grounds, it’s various wooded trails, the large size chess board display, and the observation areas where guests can access sweeping scenic views of the Hudson River. I can go on and on, but I don’t want to spill all the beans, especially for guests looking to stay at the castle for the first time. Like every major institution, the Castle Hotel & Spa was not immune to the multiple consequences caused by the COVID 19 pandemic. More details on this are further discussed on the hotel’s website. Hopefully, and in the near future, their spa service will resume, and a complimentary buffet style heated breakfast will be offered. A complimentary breakfast is available for guests, but it’s more of a “grab & go.” Despite those drawbacks, both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our hotel experience at Castle Hotel & Spa and definitely recommend for others to visit and stay at this first class establishment!!! My wife and I would very much like to thank the hotel’s staff for their very welcoming accommodations and for providing us with a great and memorable weekend stay at the castle!!!

I was back home in Tarrytown for a one night stay and just had to check out the famed Castle…it did not disappoint. There were limited services - sadly, the spa and restaurant are still closed, but my suite was gorgeous and immaculate. The staff were very friendly and efficient. I had a peaceful stay and look forward to coming back when I have more time to explore the grounds.

An absolute shambles! We looked on booking.com where the prive was $254 plus tax so we drive over to meet the owner ken he told us we couldnt check in until 2pm as the toom was being cleaned and gavr us a sheet of nearby restaurants as there is no food whats so ever rhe resraurant Only opens on a friday and saturday so we drove for 20 minutes to one of the restaurants blue moon which was amazing, we went to a supermarket to get drinks and snacks in case we got hungry, when we arrived back there were confused guests looking for staff we waited 30 minutes before a guy arrived called ceasir who was a lovely man but he explained he was the only member if staff in the hotel which beings as there were children a pool and many guests is a dangerous situation we asked about checking in to be told it was now $399 plus tax taking into account the spa is closed there wasnt a restaurant no bar and no staff it was a ridiculous price we mentioned the earlier rate to be told that he would called ken who he said was the manager, Ken arrived 20 minutes later he told us he was the owner and was extremely rude and threw us out of the hotel! I have travelled the world and never experienced anything like this, the hotel is a health hazzard with no life guard for children no staff if there was a fire or accident the guy ceasor told us he had to try and do everything as he was a one man band! The hotel needs closing down until they can afford to run it efficiently

Not worth it for the price. Good luck getting anyone on the front desk. They were gone for 30 minutes on end. The staff was not friendly, what so ever. The rooms were nice but for the price you are better off getting a regular hotel anywhere else. The air conditioning didn’t even work for gods sake.

We had planned an overnight and originally chose the castle for its looks and location to Tarrytown. I saw on the web site there were plenty of rooms but wanted to know where in the castle they were located. I called at 9:15 and again an hour later with no pick up and only the ability to leave a voice message. Knowing rooms were available I drove up. Asking the best walk up rate I was told to go on line to book it. Then I asked the difference in the rooms and locations and what was available. After standing at the desk and having the person do all kinds of typing to get room information I was told to come back in 15 minutes. After 15 minutes I was given the list price, not much details. I was told the bar, restaurant and pretty much everything else was closed due to Covid. Without having the warm fuzzies we left and checked into the Tarrytown House Estate. That place was nice and had many of its facilities open. Hotel service should begin with a warm greeting which is not what happened when I arrived and people answer phones or calling back

Myself and my husband have been going to Castle Hotel In Tarrytown for mini escapes from our busy lives in NYC for several years (with the exception of 2020). It is the most beautiful and well maintained property I have stayed in. The staff are always so accommodating. The restaurant is closed since 2020 but was phenomenal when we ate there prior to this past visit. We were told they are hoping to reopen again soon but possibly under a different concept. The pool reminds me of something you would see in The marvelous Mrs Maisel and the poolside bar has some mean G&Ts that aided in us skipping our dinner reservation offsite 😀 . I wish I could keep it a secret just for us but I feel I need to share this wonderful escape. Can't wait to return!!

We had a wonderful visit. We decided on this special hotel to reunite with family after Covid separations. While the restaurant and spa were closed, we knew in advance, so we planned for ordering in, walking around the grounds, and and just relaxing in the spacious, gorgeous rooms. Luckily we were here on a Saturday night and could enjoy Jorge’s amazing handmade drinks at the bar! Literally the best margarita I’ve ever had. What a beautiful hotel. The manager was also a delight! He took us on a private tour of the castle. This is my second visit and I hope to come back again when I can enjoy the pool, spa and restaurant. Highly recommend for a magical night away.

We stayed here about 5 years ago in the summer and it was fantastic. We stayed for New Years 2020 and had a great experience. The hotel outside is a bit run down but with everything going on in the world this is to be expected. The rooms are very nice and clean. Staff was very helpful and attentive. I can’t wait to stay here once this pandemic is done.
