We were in room 13 upstairs and it was lovely. It had a private balcony to sit out on - you wouldn't get that privacy on the ground floor patios. We did go into one of the rooms downstairs as our hot water didn't work one day. Although the room was bigger, it didn't feel so light and airy. All things considered, I'm not sure if bother upgrading, just make sure you don't get one of the 2 garden facing rooms as the sea views are stunning!
The sun beds are along the front of all the rooms, so anyone can use them.
Hope that helps. Have a fabulous holiday!
