A very beautiful boat ride to Anantara and a warm welcome as we walked onto the beach, we were introduced to Dario, who was our contact person during our stay, he assisted with any requirements, from pain killers, to extra beach towels, the rooms are spacious and cool, great mattress and excellent pillows, lovely cotton linen, and the bathrooms are huge, incredible water pressure in both the indoor and outdoor showers, the hotel is spread out over an enormous property and is lovely. Lunches and dinner overlooking the sea, or on the beach were excellent and the service was great.

My wife and I had an excellent stay at Anantara. The location is perfect for exploring the Bazaruto and the staff are excellent. The snorkeling at 2 mile reef is some of the best we have done in the world. The diving was good, visibility is an issue in summer. We did the private charter options and had picnics set up between dives and snorkels, top notch service. Highly recommend pansy and pansy 2 for picnics. They do a great job for making your stay feel individual even though we were there over Christmas. Recommend doing the heli transfer one way for the aerial views. Hopefully go at low tide.

The views from this hotel was breathtaking 😍. Resort is extremely relaxing a place to detox from all social media including television lol wonderful family holiday with lots off relaxation activities. The food was delicious and horse riding and dune boarding was extremely fun

Wow! What a place. The island, amenities, facilities, accommodation and food were all 10 out of 10. But what makes this resort really special are the people. Everyone is super friendly and genuinely happy to have you there. We have just had a very chilled quiet few days on the island which felt like our own private sanctuary with us being the only people on the beach and in the pool most of the time. Would love to go back. Special thanks to Orlando for looking after us.

We had a fantastic time here. The staff were so incredible. So attentive and kind, always checking everything is all good. The rooms were cleaned daily, and our bedroom was turned down every evening so was all prepped for bedtime once we were back from dinner. The food was also very good! It's really so beautiful. We loved it. Thank you!

The staff were all very attentive to our needs and willing to help out with making a birthday cake for a special occasion. I would highly recommend Anantara for families, couples and large groups. There are many activities and sights to see on Bazaruto Island

Very poor maintenance level makes the hotel extremely dangerous. The wooden floors are broken everywhere. In some places they will fall under you. I guess it used to be a nice hotel very long time ago. I had the feeling someone opened an abandoned hotel

Rest assured that your feedback is highly appreciated, and corrective actions have been taken, while your where at our beautiful resort, as I mention during your stay. We are proud of that destination and our resort, and I do believe that Bazaruto is a beautiful island – a natural wonder- but we failed to make your experience memorable specially regarding the maintenance. We have renovated thirty-one out of forty-four villas, and we do plan to complete all of them in 2023. The resort has been operating since 2001 to support the country and local population. The wooden floors that you mentioned, are a work in progress and hopefully they will be completed by March this year. We just had to take a break during festive season, in order not to affect the guest experience during that time. We will continuously strive for improvements and will work with the team to ensure that all services is delivered according to our brand standards. Fantastic, very clean and safe. Rooms and towels are cleaned twice a day. Spacious room with a splended view to the sea, one can choose to enjoy both sunset or sunrise from the bed, balcony or from the beach.

The hospitality was excellent. Very polite and friendly staff. The activities were great, dune sliding with my kids was my favourite activity. The food was delicious and varied. The joint of the sand and sea was relaxing.

The hotel must have been nice in former times, but now it needs renovation badly. No way a 5* hotel! The room looks cheap, the balcony and pool so old and used that you don’t want to use them both. The big public pool is in a very bad condition too: broken and missing tiles, the deck feeling 100 years old, the deck at the pool at must have had wooden floors but now it is plain concrete. The team is very friendly and efficient-this is the only reason you don’t freak out there. Food is good but always the same. I wouldn’t go there again and cannot recommend the hotel.

The resort is not "young", and have been operating since 2001 to support the country and local population. The public areas that you mentioned, are a work in progress and hopefully they will be completed by March this year. With regards to your villa, I do believe is a great beach front pool villa, which was renovated in 2019.
