We stayed in an excellent room, the food we had was delicious. Travelling through the reserve we saw all the widlife that South Africa had to give us. The guide had excellent knowledge of the animals. They also had in depth knowledge of Boer War which fascinated everyone.

Melanie came out to welcome us and from that moment we were looked after so well by the owners, Simon and Cheryl, their extended family and staff. There are just six cabins, all with their private verandas overlooking the nature reserve so we could see rhino, eland and zebra from our rooms, even from the bath! In this eco lodge...

We were met by name by Melanie as we parked the car, and were constantly made to feel welcome by Simon, Cheryl, and the rest of the staff throughout our stay. The battleground tour was excellent - Simon is a real storyteller and his recollection of dates, the main protagonists, passages of prose is excellent and brought the story to...

We reached Three Trees at the beginning of our fifth and last week touring wonderful S Africa. Just what we needed! So relaxing sitting on our veranda looking out to Spioenkop Hill and the game reserve opposite where we could see zebra, rhino with baby, antelope and nearby beautiful birds in the surrounding trees. We arrived in time for a...

This is an amazing lodge ! Welcome and service was excellent, food superb. We did a Rhino Trek with Cheryl which was great fun and a Battlefield tour with Ron which was fascinating - although we found it too long and not active enough - ie too much sitting down listening and not enough exploring the site. Cannot recommend it...

This is a brilliant lodge. The quirky old feel to the lodge is fantastic. The food was great and there is a brilliant selection of aperitifs and a comprehensive wine list. The staff at the lodge were vet accommodating and a great credit and the owners (Simon and Cheryl) are particularly friendly. Had a great game walk with Simon. The...
