Our favorite Safari experience in all of Tanzania. Can't go wrong. Best guides like Geofrey. Our guests are always overwhelmed by the accomodations and wildlife experiences. These folks have it ALL together. You get what you pay for here. Best to fly in. Road travel is tough,,,real tough. You will never for get the "never ending washboard road. So, fly....

We were the last and only guests at Mwagusi Safari Camp before closing the camp in preparation for "rainy season". Alex, the manager of the camp, and staff treated us royally. Justin, our safari guide, proved why everyone should safari out of Mwagusi. His knowledge of the Ruaha National Park and it's animals provided us with an informative safari experience....

The camp is comprised of tents within straw huts, called bandas, which are much cooler than the double roofed tents.... it is situated alongside a river bed, which was dry when we were there.... it is an unfenced camp with many visiting animals, including hyenas, which did cause some damage while we were visiting! The lunches and dinners were buffet...

my wife and I very much enjoyed this camp. Justin, our guide for the entire stay of five nights, was a wonder and joy. Constant enthusiasm and a great eye made each day special. The place where we slept was as good as it gets. Fabulous view of the river; quiet; inhouse bathroom; very, very good shower; protected against insects....

Ruaha is an amazing park, and Mwagusi is a great place from which to explore it. This is my second visit, and I was as enchanted as I had been last year. Game drives can be dusty and tiring (however interesting) since the distances covered can be daunting. However, getting back to the comfort of Mwagusi, taking a superb hot...

Mwagusi was the first of four camps we experienced in Tanzania during our first ever trip to Africa. Our banda (#10, I believe) was very comfortable and Alex and Erica did everything to make our group's (we were a mighty 16) stay enjoyable. Totally solar powered, I was blown away by the quality and diversity of food and baked goods...

Mwagusi at Ruthann was the middle of our 14 night safari, what a treat. The banda was clean, fresh, spacious and private. The food was different every day, also fresh, good quality and cooked so well. The guide made our holiday as the game drives where amazing with all his knowledge and passion about wild life. All the staff made...

Mwagusi is a beautiful, remote camp located deep in Ruaha NP on the edge of a dry river. You can feel the isolation of the place, like it's only you, the animals and the remote African bush. We spent 6 nights at the camp the last week of Nov. Our "banda" was very spacious with a large front porch sitting...

Mwagusi is an unusual camp in that the Bandas [accommodation] are uniquely ugly from the outside but attractive inside with great views over the [then dry] river bed. and very unusual inside. The camp follows an 'open policy' in that your banda is open to all during your absence and one is encouraged to hide anything shiny which might attract...

We opted for the Mwagusi Safari Camp and splashed out a cool $300 ($150 each) on one of their luxury banda's (‘temporary shelter’). Believe it or not, this was the best deal we could find for staying in the park, the five other options were charging anything from $295+ per person. We really enjoyed our one night at Mwagusi safari...
