My husband and I traveled to Tanzania with the intent of an opportunity to Safari but mainly to dive of Zanzibar. The Safari ended up being the highlight of our trip. The staff was amazing and kind. Their hospitality was a highly appreciated attribute for our diving group. The mud hut accommodations were quaint and comfortable with a toilet all...

Me and my son stayed in a tent with comfortable beds for 4 nights. The surroundings were very nice and the animals were very close, just what we wanted. The safaris were fantastic, well more than we expected. Guides, staff on the camp, everyone we met was very kind and helpful, food was well prepared and tasty. If you want...

We stayed here for three nights and everything was great! Nothing is to much for the staff. If you don't eat something they'll make a different plate of food and with a smile too. Everyone is so friendly and the camp is beautiful with an awesome view of the river and amazing sunsets. But the highlight is the game driving!...

We have just returned from the Selous River Camp and have nothing but praise from start to finish. Accommodation was excellent, (we stayed in the tents in the forest clearing - a really authentic exeprience with Black and White Colobus Monkeys and Baboons as our alarm clocks!) food delicious, river setting perfect - amazing sunsets to the sound of Hippos...

The camp itself is rather small and well integrated into the natural environment. With only 6 (I think a few more are being built) mud huts and several tents (which are located behind the camp not too far with shared bathroom facilities) the place is not crowded. The common areas consist of a dining area and a small bar/lounge area...

We stayed here for two nights after camping very basic for five nights. We came with our own tent, but included the meal deal, which was great. The bar area is very comfortable and overlooking the river. The crew is very, very friendly and helpfull! Clean and comfortable shower and toilet area. We did the morning walk, which was nice,...

Hi Ingrid! Thank you so much for your review. We pride ourselves on friendly service, so it's great to hear that we're coming across as very, very friendly! We do keep our walking safaris focused on the parts of the bush which you miss on game drive - i.e. learning about the habitats of the animals, tracks, plants and trees,...

The drive to Selous from Mikumi was really tough, so after ten hours on the road we were pretty bushed when we turned off the road to make our way the final short distance to the Selous River Camp - only to be greeted, first by a group of elephants that were feasting on palm fruits, and then by the...

Selous is not a National Park. The advantage of this is you can drive off road and get right up next to the animals. e.g.the pride of lion we sat and watched below our vehicle for nearly two hours one day finishing off a kill and they wandered around the vehicle. Harder to find the game though (cats ) than...

My husband and I spent 4 nights at Selous and we loved it. We stayed in the mudhuts and they were ideal. Our safari guide Pogo was fantastic, he was very informative and on our 3rd day he took us to local village where it was the end of Ramadan and everyone was out celebrating, was good to see. We...

The camp bar and huts overlook the river where you have a beer and watch the hippos. The staff could not be more welcoming and everything is organised around you. The safari days out included lunch in the bush and close up viewing of elephants, lions, giraffes and so on. Our guide tried desperately to find a leopard but these...
