My wife and I stayed 5 nights on our special and first ever trip to Zanzibar. Staff were absolutely great and room staff went out of their way to decorate our room nicely and lovingly for our celebrations. The approach road to the hotel is absolutely terrible, a nightmare ride for about 10 minutes each way. The free shuttle to/from...

Nice area, with a small swimmingpool og beach. The rooms and the service are very good. The breakfast is wonderful. A okey hotel for a familyvacation. There is a restaurant at the hotels area, but it took between half an hour and an hour before the food came.

We spent 4 nights here at the end of our holiday in Tanzania. It was extremely restful and a beautiful place to stay. Lovely room with a balcony overlooking the gardens and sea and only a few metres from the beach. The food in the restaurant was excellent - breakfast was especially good with a wide range of options. Staff...

My room was comfortable if dated. The air conditioning was good and I was metres from the water. Breakfast was decent and the restaurant has an excellent view. The beach is clean and beautiful but not very swimmable due to tides and reeds. We had a lovely weekend break. The beach got extremely crowded and noisy as it's open to...

Me and a friend spent our final afternoon on Zanzibar here after it was recommended by a friend for a relaxing beach location with the hotel facilities. For 20000Tsh, you get the private hotel beach with sun loungers, lovely pier, bar and restaurant, toilets, outdoor shower and pool. The charge also gives you a token to spend that much on...

Protea has got alot of perks and amenities other hotels just dont. The ruins it manages really set it far above the rest and the service is world class. I truly enjoyed my stay. Will be coming back around very soon.

Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted with cold glasses of mango passion fruit juice and a towel to clean our hands as we checked in. It was the best hotel greeting/check-in that I've received in my life. It was a very nice touch that set the tone for the remainder of our stay. Our room was more gorgeous...

I had my special dinner in Zanzibar in the wooden terrace in front of the ocean. The kitchen is made by a real chef. He able to use spices of high level. In my opinion never try similar taste on Zanzibar. The garden of restaurant is amazing. A lot of kind of giant tropical plants in a big garden including...

We have used this place several times for Zanzibar getaways, and ownership has changed several times over the last years. It is perfectly located on a private beach just ouside Stonetown, a great place to combine a beach vacation in an exotic ruin garden with the pleasures of Stonetown. After Protea took over a couple of years ago, we had...

The location was quiet and we felt safe. We stayed here because this hotel is the place where you get on the Chumbe Island excursion shuttle. It was not overly priced and quiet for a family or a couple.
