Easy walking distance to Dhow Harbor, Fish Market, shops and museums. Closes doors early, so be back before nightfall or expect to knock for the doorman. He seems to know who you are and will open immediately. The breakfast is served within a rooftop room, open on all four sides to allow spectacular city scape views and fresh are to...

From the moment we crossed the doorway, Mohammed, Filipina, Asma and the other wonderful people that staff Zanzibar Coffee House treated us like family. The welcome drinks were delightful and they went out of their way to accommodate us and get us situated in our rooms. The location of this boutique hotel is perfect within the old walls of Stone...

Small hotel; rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Not exactly a full-service hotel -- they serve breakfast, but no real common facilities other than the rooftop breakfast service area (which is beautiful) and the coffee shop downstairs. (No dinner service, but you can order sandwiches, pizza, etc. downstairs before 6 and take to your room.) Friendly service; good location. And...

This hotel has a lot of personality. We stayed in the Arabica suite, which is spacious and well-decorated. The hotel sits atop a working coffee shop. While charming, the hotel's functionality was at times lacking. Notably, the receptionist wasn't always available, the shower was lukewarm, and the wifi was variable. On the plus side, the air conditioning worked well and...

I spent one night only at the Zanzibar Coffee House, as a solo traveller. I liked very much the house charm and the tiny breakfast room in the roof, the coffee shop at the ground floor is probably one of the 3 best in town. I missed a couple of things: I had a single room with external bathroom and...

The terrace on The roof is beautiful. The less pleasant thing was that The toilet was outside The room. Even if private and...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Coffee House. Our 7 yr old and 4 yr old loved the beds in the Bourbon room and enjoyed having breakfast on the roof each morning. It was nice to be in the heart of Zanzibar in an authentic guest house.

Sometimes when you are traveling it's lovely to eat or drink something familiar. This friendly and smart place hit that spot for me. They make good cappuccinos etc and excellent cakes. It's in the heart of Stonetown and is well worth a visit

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Zanzibar Coffee House. Arriving a little bleary-eyed and tired from two weeks on Safari we were so pleasantly surprised at the gracious welcome and the unique architecture of this 18 hundreds building in the center of stone town. The welcome coffee beverage perked us up( fabulous refreshing iced cappuccino with vanilla ice cream), and...
