The whole place was fabulous, breathe taking mostly the evening time at the pool which was magic, inside my room sleeping like am in heaven listening to the birds in the morning singing, Mashing Water flow from the river down in the Gorge.

Kyambura Gorge Lodge, has the best food I have ever tasted on all my trips in Uganda. It has a big lounge where you can hang out. The swimming pool gave me relaxing evenings on both nights I stayed there. Very quiet that you can hear the gorge river roaring especially in the mornings as you wake up.

Overlooking the gorge and Savannah of the QE park this lodge is delightfully furnished and each bungalow has a view. As you leave the main road in the village a tiny track leads to the lodge entrance behind which the lodge opens out into a spacious garden, lounge and veranda. Food is excellent with superb vegetarian options. Staff are all...

Dear GeorgeandJaki Thank you for your review. Each of our lodges has a unique design and guests love the contemporary 'upcycled' chic of Kyambura Gorge Lodge. Each of the privately situated bandas has a unique view - of Queen Elizabeth National Park savannah or the Gorge, famous for its chimpanzees. Thank you for your positive feedback on the food and...

Our host was Lazarus who was very helpful and had a good sense of humour. Adolf I appears to be tour guide, waiter, masseur etc etc .. and always with a smile. We stayed at the Lodge for three nights in September and the experience was both relaxing and exhilarating. The design of the whole complex is beautiful and every effort was made by the staff to make our stay perfect. We really enjoyed the time spent both in the Lodge and on trips to the surrounding areas to see the wildlife...

The accommodation and lounge area here are certainly impressive and a quirky mix of recycled shabby chic / industrial recycling and natural materials (don't be put off it's very well done), but for me it lacked some of the personal touch of Bwindi and MtGahinga Volcanoes Lodges. It is well located for Kyambura Gorge (if you want to see chimps...

The lodge is impeccably designed and we particularly liked the way the central dining/lounge area was laid out. The new villas, facing towards Queen Elizabeth Park were absolutely stellar and brilliantly different from most of the traditional 'bandas' you find in Africa. We were lucky enough to have an outside shower (as well as an indoor one) which proved a...

Dear EJBeck Thanks for taking the time to share feedback. We have passed on your comments to the lodge manager. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated on the edge of the Kyambura Gorge and Queen Elizabeth National Park, in Uganda, one of Africa's finest national parks, Volcanoes newest lodge, Kyambura Gorge Lodge, has stunning views over the Gorge and the lush savannah of the park, with the peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains in the distance. The main lodge building was originally a coffee store and processing plant, surrounded by coffee plantations. The original structure has been sensitively restored to create a stunning living space, balancing the history of the building with the location and creating a series of distinct luxurious contemporary spaces for guests. Eight beautiful, spacious bandas have been carefully nestled into the hillside, each with their own luxury bathroom. Each room has a different aspect of the panoramic views across the gorge, savannah and mythical Rwenzoris. Each banda is uniquely appointed, adopting a different colour theme. ... more   less
