I stayed here after my flight cancelled and my main resort is time shared so we couldn't stay there so it was a blessing to book 1 night last minute. The only huge disappointment even if for only one night was the gym. I am a personal trainer so I can make do with free weights but there wasn't any. The treadmills are out of date and it was very small space with no air flow. If I were to stay longer that would be beneficial to myself and others. Other than that Christmas Day brunch was delicious. ! Friendly staff who worked on Christmas Brunch.
It was a half way decent hotel. Nothing spectacular but it wasn’t awful either by any means. It was nice that they had two pools and the rooms were very large which was an awesome plus. Our room was quite dated and could have certainly been cleaner. They had two large exotic birds there that were absolutely beautiful but squawked like crazy at 6 -7 am each morning more then load enough to wake us up. That I could have done without. Not bad but I’m not sure we will come back.
I booked this condo through VRBO DavidFlak Who posed as an owner saying that his condo was available for the week that I requested. He never once told us that he was a broker that booked open timeshares that had not been booked. When we got here we got the worst rain with no balcony or patio or table or two bathrooms. The stove drawer was broken the bathroom door banged into the main door to the bedroom. The exhaust fan, which was very loud, and the only bathroom had to be on when you turn the light on disturbing anyone else in the bathroom at night. we attempted to get a hold of david when we got here calling and sending messages but she refused to call us back. We worked with the front desk the next day who acted as though they never knew who he was. It turns out he is a broker that works directly with them and four other people that we spoke with had also booked through him and we’re also unhappy. it’s basically a bait and switch, if you do not complain you get stuck in the rooms that have not been renovated facing an alley with no patio or balcony but you don’t pay A lesser fee. it’s very unfortunate because it is a less expensive resort and has a fairly good location that appears a little scary at first but is actually a safe area with the gated secure front entry. The pools are small but very clean and they do have hot tubs. If you have a child do not bring them here they are not at all welcomed especially by the security guard named Frank. he made a little boy quit playing football with us even though the ball is allowed in the pool. He did not ask three of the other guess he were in big float drinking in the pool to get out of the are not allowed in the pool. They have music playing at the pool bar and they do have Shade and they do have a restaurant. we never did get the room that we were promised even after going to four different rooms because we were not willing to wait until Guests left them and they were cleaned and we were told away in our room until we could get that done the following day that we got here. We were not offered compensation by David Flak with VRBO or by the front desk despite asking numerous times for compensation for losing two days of our vacation. The front desk lady kept saying that she was trying to get me ROOM THAT I wanted instead of giving me the room that I booked and paid for ! asking is absolutely fantastic! we woke up early every morning because our bed was so uncomfortable we couldn’t wait to get out of it. kitchen is satisfactory with enough cookware and dishes to be able to fix a meal. Just remember this is a timeshare and you are not promised any rain when you are booking them just the ones that are available when you get here. That is not ever what I want to do when I book from an owner…
This is a fun little quiet resort off the main strip. The restaurant and swim up bar have delicious drinks and food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The jacuzzis are always warm and the pools are clean. This is a great place for young families and older adults. The iguana pool is a quiet spot to read a book and the other pool has a swim up bar with 2 happy hours during the day. The rooms have either a full or efficiency kitchen so you could buy groceries or heat up left overs. The resident iguana and Macaws are fun to interact with but don’t feed them. The Wi-Fi is a little lack luster but you’re on vacations, put your phones down, lol.
This property has absolutely no wifi! As you can imagine in 2022 this is just ridiculous. We were told they should have it repaired by NEXT YEAR. If you need to work, have kids, contact anyone at home, look something up, make reservations etc… you’re SOL here. You may get ONE bar of a signal and you will lose it just as quickly. I’m literally sitting in a grocery store parking lot on their free wifi to write this review in hopes that it saves anyone at all the headache. If you have cellular service it will not work inside the rooms either. Their room key system is also an absolute joke. If you put them anywhere near a cell phone they will stop working and you have to go to the office for another one. Who doesn’t carry a cell phone these days? Other than that it is dated, but still nice. Rooms are very spacious and the staff is wonderful. If you want a quiet room you will be facing a parking lot. Rooms facing the pool are very loud day and night especially by the bar.…
While a decent place to stay, I'm disappointed in the declining physical status, poor WIFI indoors, unattended pool bar except happy hour, with huge timeshare revenue incoming not reinvested. We've been coming here for 22+ years and slowly seen the decay set in from old furniture still in use, minimal remodeling or upgrades - just maintenance patchwork. It feels that it is being run into the ground and when too costly, will be torn down. I'd like to think otherwise and see some plans for future major renovation in this 35 year old gem. No activities posted for the weekly event or discussed at check-in. Front desk doesn't have much on details. During a 2 week stay, the linen wasn't changed mid-week until requested several times. A saving grace is the staff is friendly and accommodating. Two pools on the property, one more family oriented than the other. It is North central located and will require a car rental or taxis if you want more than Moomba and Palm beach. Environment is safe and secure enough. There is a small fitness gym overlooking the pool that is stocked fairly well. Grills located at each end of the property for those wanting to use the kitchen and dine in. Pool towels refreshed daily and can be used outside the property. Unsupervised lounge chairs at Moomba beach are hard to acquire and find as many others use them since not watched over. The front desk staff has no or little comment on this issue. The price is less but so should be expectations. …
We were extremely disappointed in this place. It’s in the middle of nowhere and you must have a car to get anywhere. The front desk staff was unhelpful anytime we asked for assistance-especially about Covid testing which we needed to return to the US. Rooms need updating. Furniture was stained. I was sitting on the balcony and went to get a drink. The phone rang and it was security saying I couldn’t leave my door open. The made us nervous because we were in the 3rd floor and didn’t even know there were obvious safety issues. I was only in the room for maybe 3 minutes. Neighborhood is sketchy. Once you’re in for the evening you really shouldn’t leave. No stores or anything in walking distance. Definitely stay at La Cabana or Eagle Aruba. Eagle beach is the nicest.
The front desk gave us half information on more than one occasion. I won’t name the woman so she doesn’t get in trouble. The restaurant was amazing. The staff is great there! The outside of the resort is beautiful but the rooms leave much to be desired. The blankets and towels are like sandpaper. The tv remote was held together with tape. Come on! The tiles are cracked. The moldings looked dirty but it was just old. The shuttle only goes to the beach twice in the morning 9:30 and 12:30. It brings you back twice also 12:30 and 4:30. Anything in between or past that- you’re on your own. It’s not really central to much so you will take a car everywhere. But the taxi drivers are really nice and we met some really nice people. If you like activities, don’t stay here. If you like quiet, this is your place.…
My family and I really enjoy our stay here - easy checking in and checking out. Every one is extremely friendly and helpful from the bartender to the wait staff to the security guys. It is definitely a low key resort nothing fancy and definitely family friendly.
We stayed here for a few days before moving to out normal spot on the island. Staff was very friendly. Excellent service at restaurant and pool bar. Bartender Peter was awesome! He played a wide variety of music and made great drinks. I will say the people that were staying at the resort were rude! Two older people came up during happy hour, that were not even sitting at the bar, and started demanding other music. The music that was playing was mellow and a good variety, they wanted John Denver to be played. Peter was very nice to them and said that he was taking request by the people sitting at the bar and that after the list he could play their choice. They were rude and annoying and kept making comments from behind us. It made use want to leave happy hour, costing your bar business. We also would love to come back for the ambiance that Peter brings to your pool bar, but the rude/stuck up patrons of the establishment make us not want to ever return.…
