We traveled to Sandoval Lake Lodge with 5 children, ages 9 to 12. The Lodge was exceptional. We saw so many animals, monkeys, birds, river otter, snakes, caimens, etc. We found the rooms comfortable, the staff helpful and the food good and plentiful. I have only one tip: make sure to book your stay with www.inkanatura.com and not www.sandovallakelodge.com. www.inkanatura.com...

Dear guest Thank you for sharing your experience. Indeed there is a company that has the domain name Sandoval Lake Lodge and they used to work with us sometimes but most of the time they use their own lodge located beside the "REAL" Sandoval Lake Lodge which is owned by us. Now, we are not working with them anymore as...

We came here after three nights at Heath River. First, the journey. Sandoval Lake Lodge is reached by motorised canoe from either Heath River or Puerto Maldonado, followed by a walk to Sandoval Lake then another boat across the lake. Do not underestimate the walk. It isn't very far, and your luggage is carried by a porter but it is...

We did the 4 day/3 night trip before moving onto to Cusco and walking the Inca Trail. We were met at Puerto Maldonado by our guide Edds and were pleasantly surprised that we would have a guide to ourselves. After being taken to the office and transferring out belongings into the supplied duffel bags (we had already done this and...

We did a four night trip with Inkanatura - three nights at Heath River Lodge followed by a night at Sandoval Lake Lodge. In our view, Sandoval was good, but not as good as Heath River. First, it's very close to Puerto Maldonado. On the Sunday we could hear the music from the nearby town. It certainly isn't deep into...

My husband and I travelled here in June as part of a trip to various places in Peru. This was our first stop and we were very happy. We were picked up right at the airport, given details on the way to the office, met our personal guide at the office that took us all the way to the lodge....

This is a detailed review and all you need to know about Sandoval Lake Lodge. We booked directly with Inkanatura, the owner and operator of the lodge. We did the 4 days/3 nights, which was just right as in reality you arrive at the lodge around 3-4pm on day 1 and must depart by 8:30am on day 4. With Inkanatura,...

Rustic but adquate. The food was good. The manager and bartender were average. Our guides were fantastic. We especially like Pepe, Roger and Edie. Saw lots of interesting plants and animals. If you get any chiggers use Tecnu. It works really well.

If you're looking for a pampered 5* experience, this is not it. Instead, we found rustic jungle accommodation that was comfortable, safe and became part of the rainforest experience. The lodge itself is built as a long building with the lobby/dining area in the middle and a set of rooms to the left and right. The lodge - open concept,...
