We stayed at the Tambopata Research Center for three nights after spending one night at Refugia Amazonas. We were on a 5 day, 4 night tour with Rainforest Expeditions. Everything was great. The company is extremely well organized and professional. They pay great attention to detail. Our guide, Robin, was incredibly knowledgeable and adept at spotting wildlife. The lodge is...

We had a stay for 4 days at the TRC with our family (father, mother, 2 sons (age 20 and 13 years old) and a daughter (18 years old). We very much liked the remote area to be as close as could with the rainforest and its habitants, and were very Lucky. Our guide was a specialist in finding the...

Amazing experience!! Our guide Saay was really interesting and knowledgeable!! Loved searching for the different types of insects in the wild!! The accomodations were very nice as well: we had a double bed, but shared bathrooms.

Spent 3 nights here during the dry season and had an amazing time. Our room was right near the lobby area of the lodge but we didn't find any issues with noise keeping us up at night (or early in the morning) when we slept with earplugs. I would recommend earplugs if you are a light sleeper as the howler...

I stayed 4 nights here as a solo traveler and it was wonderful. The rooms had good mosquito nets, fresh linen and nice touches like fresh filtered water, portable torches and a safe. The shared bathrooms were spacious with hot water and I never once had to queue as there are 4 for females and 4 for males. Food was...

Thanks TRC that let me have a very close touch with the forest jungle. A macaw flied into our room and drank a glass of water in front of us! Their food quality is always good and don't forget to taste their Coca cocktail!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Tambopata Research Center (TRC) is a spartan yet comfortable 18 bedroom lodge with 8 shared bathrooms. Because of its remote location in uninhabited wilderness, housing stable populations of endangered wildlife, the small scale of its infrastructure and operations and the presence of researchers and naturalist guides, Tambopata Research Center is an excellent headquarters for in depth explorations of Amazonian nature and wildlife. It is located in a half hectare clearing in the middle of the uninhabited portion of the Tambopata National Reserve, less than a kilometer from the world's largest and most diverse macaw claylick. ... more   less
