Several reviewers have already obviated the location (gorgeous, expansive, unobstructed) and rooms (superb, clean, relaxing). But beyond that, we were so impressed with Francesco, the owner's son, who greeted us by name as we were taken on a tour of the property upon arrival. He chatted with us for a few minutes about our travels, our home in New York, and his life growing up in Anacapri. He seemed extremely genuine when he said to let him know if there's any issue whatsoever or to approach him with any suggestions as to how they can do better. We were only there for a short time, but the entire staff blew us away. My SO ran into Francesco the next day and they chatted at the poolside bar for so long you would think they were old friends. He personally made us drinks and was such a fun energy to be around. What a host!

The staff are also deserving of so much praise, and this hotel really dismantles that separation you often feel between guest and staff. It felt like we were part of a larger family. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there. The drivers are nothing short of SKILLED. The way they maneuvered those narrow streets was so impressive. I don't know how much they are paid, but give those guys a raise!

What a dreamy stay; the breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious- better, in our opinion, than the buffets we had at every other hotel we visited throughout Italy (including Le Sirenuse). Francesco waved us off on our departure, and I would not be surprised if we returned in one month or ten years, with greetings of familiarity from him. This hotel will definitely see us again as recurring guests, as we are already planning our return and my SO has said in no uncertain terms will he entertain staying anywhere else! Thank you guys!!!

We stayed here following a wedding in Ravello and it went beyond our expectations.

We usually stay at four seasons or similar summer resorts so have fairly high expectations, particularly when rooms prices here in September are still akin to Four Season Maldives Villa Prices.

There will be very few other hotels in the world where you can obtain such dramatic scenery with impeccable service and beautiful food. The hotel is classy with understated grandeur in a relaxed welcoming environment. The multiple spaces makes the place feel exclusive even though we know it was at near full capacity during our stay.

Arrival was slightly clumsy at the ferry port but as soon as we entered the hotel we were in fantastic hands.

Lunch and dinner at the restaurant was superb (with prices to match - but that’s Capri), the service impeccable and friendly and the view again takes centre stage. Breakfast buffet was excellent and in line with what you’d expect at a luxury hotel.

One one slight disappointment is that there was no option to have a lighter lunch snack on the terrace or pool bar and the staff were so inflexible about ordering some lighter items from our room service menu to eat anywhere other than our room. So we ended up eating a lunch on our balcony which was lovely and the in-room lobster roll I had was categorically the best sandwich/light lunch I have ever had (I’d probably come back just for that it was so good) - so they are really missing a trick by not serving this during the lunch period (and I heard other guests who went out to eat somewhere different who may well have enjoyed a poolside or terrace lunch but went elsewhere for variety).

Concierge were excellent and our room was well appointed and a good size with views that cannot be beaten (day or night).

All in all the place comes out as one of our all time favourite hotels alongside the Four Seasons’ resorts in Whistler and both in the Maldives.

We look forward to returning.

From the moment you arrive, you experience the most amazing and kindest hospitality by this family run hotel.

We had initially booked a junior suite with view on the mountain and were upgraded to one with a sea view giving on the beautiful bay between Capri and Naples. By far they have the most stunning view out of all the hotels of both Anacapri and Capri.

Coupled with an amazing pool, great food, signature cocktails on the bar’s terrace which are accompanied by live piano every night, an overall great ambiance.
More than anything, the staff who takes care of you are just outstanding and go above and beyond to accommodate your every need, make sure you have the very best of time on the island and make you feel part of the family. From delicious restaurant recommendations to organizing private boat tours and other visits, we got to enjoy everything Capri has to offer because of the wonderful team.

This has become our home on Capri and we are so very much looking forward to our next stay.

We had the most amazing stay at the Caesar Augustus. It is a family run hotel, with the owner and his family offering unrivalled hospitality (the owner greeted us personally on arrival, upgraded our room as my wife and I had recently got married, and took every opportunity to see if there was anything he or his staff could do to make our stay and experience any better!).

The setting is beautiful, with extraordinary views. The hotel restaurant is amazing - we chose the tasting menu which is reasonably priced and among the best dinners we have ever had. The concierge service is very helpful - they helped reserve a number of restaurants and beach clubs on the island for us (thank you Helder!) and also helped with a seamless pick up and drop off at the ferry terminal at the port of Capri.

I can not recommend this hotel highly enough and having stayed at a number of Relais & Chateaux hotels previous there simply isn’t anywhere else that is like the Caesar Augustus - it (and the staff) really are exceptional. We had a superb stay in Capri and look forward to returning to the Caesar Augustus Hotel soon.

The Caesar Augustus offers the most magnificent natural setting imaginable made comfortable by a gracious staff, whose charming leader is a member of the family that owns the immaculate, elegant villa. Meals are beautifully prepared from ingredients grown in the gorgeous gardens on the property, and they are served expertly by a friendly and knowledgable team. Thanks to our Virtuoso travel advisor, we were lucky to be upgraded to the gracious Caesar Suite with a private garden and arched windows overlooking the sea. Some Americans may want to inquire about the bathroom fittings in specific rooms before visiting. Ours were lovely but might not be easily accessible to all visitors. The Capri boat tour, custom sandal experience and private boat transfer to Amalfi that were arranged by the very competent concierge team are highly recommended and were among the highlights of our wonderful visit.

We spent 3 nights at Caesar Augustus for our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived from the port we were blown away but the beauty of the hotel. The views are most noteworthy as panoramic and breathtaking. Everything on the property was spotless and in top condition. We were immediately greeted by Francesco, the owners son, who explained his family’s history of the hotel and it was so heartwarming to hear that the family resides on the property which makes it easy to recognize how much they truly care about the hotel and their guests. The daily breakfast everyday was delicious and due to covid, there is a server who puts your plate together instead of serving yourself at the buffet. We had the Chef’s Table for dinner one night and the experience was top notch, the service was impeccable and the views are unparalleled The 5 course tasting menu was one of our best meals in Capri. This experience is not to miss! Our sea view junior suite room was beautiful. Very spacious, clean and comfortable bedding. The housekeeping came twice daily and it was very much appreciated. One of my favorite experience was sitting on the terrace for cocktails during sunset. The beautiful ambience accompanied by piano music drifting in from the lobby was exactly what is needed to unwind and enjoy the surroundings. When it was finally time for our departure we knew without a doubt we would be back someday.

Stayed here for 25th anniversary in 2016. Returned in May 2019. Look forward to returning. The warm welcome of father Paolo and son Francesco to their family home set this apart from any hotel. It feels like home, a palatial home. The staff were great. We love the cliffside junior suite, and we stayed in two spectacular suites as well. Unforgettable. We travel often internationally in 5 star hotels; this is in the top handful worldwide. (2 others are on the Amalfi Coast of Italy.) The breakfast buffets are unparalleled. We live on Maui in an island paradise and this is where come for heaven. We love this refuge, a sanctuary of peace in the quiet residential neighborhood of Anacapri at the top, far from the madding crowd of day-trippers. When we look back at our photos, Caesar Augustus brings back the greatest memories.

A hotel that definitely has a soul... Charming and personalised atmosphere with a friendly staff making you feel instantly at home. Great professionalism and attention to details. The food is delicious, with products from the garden and authentic Italian cuisine, exactly what we want to have in Capri. Special mention also to the bakery and cakes (breakfast and dinner) that are homemade and delicious. Also everything is made to make the check in and check out as smooth as possible (including taking the guest with the hotel shuttle to Capri port, buying the boat tickets and carrying the luggage until inside of the boat). And of course, the hotel enjoys a stunning location with breathtaking views of Capri port and cliff. Congratulations !
