We were pleasantly surprised at how well this historical property was being kept. Rooms/bathrooms clean and modernized to the extent possible. Loved the multiple extra power strips in each room as a nod to the needs of today's guests to plug in assorted gadgets. The Wifi worked well too. From the initial greeting by valet and front desk, all staff...

The Hotel Thayer is a nice property on a beautiful, historic location. The only real problem is the damn freight train that runs about 30 times a night directly under your room, while blowing it's whistle, if you're on the river side. This really only becomes a problem when, after being assured that you have a "mountain view" room at...

My husband and I have stayed here many times, it is one of our favorites, We are both retired military and the hotel has soooo much to offer in the way of military history. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, the bathroom is large and has more than the average amenities. The front desk and valets are always there...

Liked everything about Thayer! Elegant, traditional architecture. Great service. View of Hudson from room. Perfect place to stay for our tour of US Military Academy. Liked picures of notable academy graduates and their successes during and after military life.

Clean room. Nice size. Hudson River View. Charming Choo Choo train (we were warned that some people complain about the train and choose a non river room for silence but we loved the faint Choo Choo! You feel the military history all around you. When does a hotel make you feel proud to be an American!

First of all, it was a great place to have a wedding because the grounds and garden are beautiful and have a fabulous view overlooking the Hudson River. The staff is very skilled and really know how to manage weddings and meetings. The staff is also very friendly and...

The selection, preparation, presentation, and wait staff were excellent. Some in our party are "difficult and demanding diners" -- they like everything adjusted to their tastes. Our waitress, Carol, was up to the task and handled everyone cheerfully.

We were celebrating my Mom's 76th Birthday and from the moment we arrived, we were in love. So much history and the brunch menu is phenomenal. Our server Shawn was the icing on the cake! We'll be back on a regular basis.
