Beautiful grounds, cozy atmosphere and superb food! Set in the Laurentian mountains, this is a fabulous place for a couples retreat, wedding or family gathering. Decor with a European flair, (athough a touch worn) great service and attention to detail. 5 star menu with great choice of wines. This place has a unbelievable mountain view in a natural setting that... More

I love this Inn. We have been twice and will return to enjoy the food and wonderful owners. A bit isolated and the roads in are a bit rough, but oh my truly worth it. Owners Josef and Wayne are the perfect hosts who have built a beautiful inn and gardens in a gorgeous setting. Don't look for an exhaustive... More

Two couples stayed one night. We used the MAP plan which included breakfast and a 6 course dinner. There are many choices of rooms, including king with jacuzzi and many with decks overlooking the grounds. The dinner was incredible! The menu isn't extensive, but everything we had was superbly prepared. For the price, you can't beat it for a romantic... More

It's our family restaurant for over 20 years. We always go back. You have to try it once to understand. It's a bit expensive than a regular restaurant but it worst 100%. Nice site to take a walk all year around. My favorite is vol au vent, cream bisque soup and lamb. Niam niam.

Our group of 23 adults went to Auberge Val Carroll for our Christmas supper and party. We were just impressed by everything...the site, the staff, the food, the service...just fabulous. Upon arrival, we had our coktails served in the lobby and library adjoining the bar, then following to the dining room with a superb table of 23. We were then... More

My husband and I and another couple set out for a leisurely drive Friday night in celebration of our friend's 65th birthday. They reside in Hawkesbury on the Ontario-Quebec border and had dined at Auberge Val Carroll a few years ago. They highly recommended it so out we set. Easier said than done as the directions on the website were... More

I was with my daughter and her three little sons (ages 10, 8 and 5) and we had our first full course delicious dinner in a private and lovely dining room of the auberge, and then went to our well-equipped cabin (chalet) that fronted a small private lake with a small dock and kayaks for the three boys to paddle... Auberge Val Carroll is not a 5 star urban hotel. It is a charming country inn. The buildings have been moved from other locations to this scenic site atop a sloping meadow. The auberge is beautifully furnished with antiques, any newer pieces coordinating with the antiques. The inn is also beautifully decorated with art of many genres. Each piece of... More

This was our third stay at this beautiful location. We celebrated a special birthday and service and food were excellent. All special requests were attended to and we only can say: "We will be back" Wayne and Joseph, thank you very much.

We spent three nights at Val Carroll. The meals were fabulous. We had breakfast each morning. Wonderful baked goods and fruit on the buffet with excellent waffles, eggs, etc. made to order. We were there for an art show and luncheon which had simply excellent food. We enjoyed a 6 course dinner one night. Josef is a great cook. And... More
