I had the pleasure of staying at this chic Inn during my wedding weekend. We had a great stay. The rooms are each unique and beautifully decorated, yet the overall vibe of the property welcoming and unpretentious. Adam, one of the owners, was incredibly helpful both leading up to and during our stay. Because there are not a ton of hotel options in, I had the opportunity to see where other guests were staying for the weekend and I can confidently say that the Herwood Inn is the best both in terms of value and location.
We had a great two day stay in Mitchell Manor which is one of the dog friendly rooms. Enjoyed the cottage and it was perfect for our pup with a small private patio. Everything was easy and enjoyable. Parking is a little complicated as the tiny lot gets full and you need to park across the street when it’s full. Otherwise great.
This was everything you’d expect from a boutique hotel in Woodstock. We stayed in the Mitchell Inn room, which is its own little building with a private back area. Would have been perfect for our dog if we had brought her. The bed is super comfy. But it is very low to the ground. There is a little kitchen area with a fridge. I think there is a hot plate or something in the cabinet. But we weren’t there to cook. Every room comes with a record player and some records to listen to. And there were games and books to enjoy. The shower was amazing. It shoots water out from above and the side at the same time if you wish. The facility is awesome. A cool sitting area and a hot tub. The location is also great. A short walk from the middle of town, it’s easy to get anywhere in not too long. Will definitely want to return.…
We spent two nights at The Herwood Inn in the Franklin Flat and it was a perfect set up for 2 adults. Loved the kitchenette in our place -- had everything you needed to keep your beers cold and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. Also loved the design of the place -- very boho/mod. And lastly loved the location, perfect spot to explore the Catskills and walking distance to all the restaurants & shops in Woodstock. Even though we didn't have much interaction with the owners, they were fantastic. We had an issue with our AC and they immediately remedied the situation. Would definitely recommend this place if you are staying in the Woodstock area!
Everything about this place was wonderful. It was cozy, but well-sized. The decor is tasteful and charming. The amenities are all of excellent quality and well thought-out for comfort and convenience. The hot tub and outdoor fireplace are great. The location is central to Woodstock. We loved our stay there, just wish it was longer. Truly a wonderful place!
The Herwood Inn has its own marvelous ethos - I'd describe it as the thoughtfulness and comfort of a Four Seasons meets Dwell magazine, through the lens of Woodstock era mindfulness (yoga blocks/mats, macrame hangings, live plants, politically progressive books, literature avail to read, local hiking guide). Our King Suite was a splurge. Decor and amenities are sustainable in nature, while being quite nice. (The hair dryer is a Bybliss - which if you know, says a lot in terms of quality.) The living room has a small record player and is stocked with Late 60s faves, we enjoyed Dylan, Mavis Stapels and more. While we didn't fully cook, the kitchette allows simple meal prep and was useful for food we ordered in. We did fix out own coffee (they have a bodum press, we brought out own beans and grinder), though they supply Nespresso and Keurig. Bring your own milk and keep in the mini-fridge. King bed was a delight. Deep tub/shower could be tricky for some - you have to climb in. We had a car, but the Herwood is walking distance to excellent restaurants, a top notch vinyl store, excellent book store and some spots like a crystal shop..everyone in town seems to overscent their stores with fragrances. In time of Covid, the indoor common space was closed, check-in was contactless, and we could chat with hosts through a useful iPad app in living room. Excellent outdoor space dedicated to our room, though too chilly to really use. But in another month - too amazing. We highly recommend the thoughtful, tasteful (and super sanitized ) Herwood Inn.…
Thank you Em and June for being amazing hosts! My bf and I stayed in the Mitchell manor for 7 days and everything was perfect! Every detail in the inn was thoughtfully crafted. There were directions for everything in the suite. We appreciated all the recommendations on the iPad. The highlight of our trip was taking a dip in the cedar hot tub after the temperature outside dipped into the 50’s. It was magically! There was plenty of hiking near by! We can’t wait to visit again and bring our dogs next time! Thanks again for an amazing visit!
This was our first trip to Woodstock, and we were so happy that we chose The Herwood Inn to stay. From my first inquiry, to checkout, communication with the lovely owners, Em and June, was seamless. The Inn was perfectly located within walking distance to town, but secluded enough that we had a quiet haven to return to. The studio cabin was meticulously decorated with every detail thought of, including an essential oil diffuser, lovely linens, bathrobes, and a record player with a great vinyl selection! The Inn was clean, comfortable and spacious, with more than enough room for my husband and I and our dog. We were provided hand sanitizer, masks and disinfecting wipes, and check-in and out were contactless. There was a lovely fenced-in area, as well as a beautiful “common” courtyard with a hot tub and fire pit, and lots of lovely seating. Although we didn’t get to use the hot tub, it looked very inviting! We can’t wait to return, and high recommend the Herwood Inn if you are traveling to the area. What a fun place!! Thank you Em and June.…
My boyfriend and I stayed at The Herwood Inn early February and it was absolutely amazing. We were in the "Nicks Nook" and it had everything you could possibly want or need. The amenities were gorgeous, obviously taken care of with lots of love. They had great recommendations for places to go in town. Definitely walkable to the main part of town. Super easy access and parking if you need it. Also, there's a Cedar tub. It's AMAZING. Even in the "off-season" stores and restaurants were open and very good! Highly recommend!
We had the great fortune of staying at the Herwood Inn for New Year's Eve. Having never been to Woodstock before, and being from Brooklyn, we were looking for something that was authentic to Woodstock but with the quality of Manhattan and we found it here. Em and June are incredible curators of products, designs, community and experiences and they've developed a very beautiful hotel with self-serve amenities and everything you could desire.
