My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the DeForest House this weekend. It is a beautifully restored ByrdCliff style house that has been tastefully furnished with antiques and art that all seems to come together. But it is the presence of Catherine, the DeForest House's charming hostess, and her husband John that makes this place truly special....

Wonderful experience and John and Catherine are great hosts. The breakfasts were delicious and highest quality foods/organic etc. They are extremely helpful and know Woodstock really well, so they made our trip a great experience. The house is beautiful and in the midst of some very nice woods, with some great wildlife too. Overall this was a terrific experience and...

I went to DeForest right after Christmas. Catherine and George were delightful and went above and beyond to make my staying comfortable. Catherine prepares every morning a one-of-a-kind breakfast (she is French, if you know what I mean). My Victorian room was super comfy and quite. Very clean place and only 10 minutes walk from the centre of Woodstock. Remember...

Catherine and John are consistently lovely, warm and generous. Their knowledge of the wonderful things to do in the area allow us to be completely spontaneous - they told us about two lovely...

A small gem: beautiful and comfortable rooms, lovely and gracious hosts, and incredibly tasty, bountiful breakfast (complete with fresh-squeezed orange juice!). We were welcomed not only by the owner, but also by a friendly deer, grazing as we parked the car. Can only imagine how beautiful and lush it must be in the summer.

Only an hour and a half by train from New York City, Woodstock has retained the charm of small town America, with boutiques galore for shopping and some good restaurants as well. This enchanting little hideaway oozes charm, reflecting the personalities of its lovely owners, John and Catherine. The house is meticulously clean and well-furnished with beautiful antiques and much...

Hard to imagine a more delightful bed and breakfast experience than we just had at the DeForest House. All the elements that you (or at least we) would want for that weekend away: beautiful house, comfy room and bed, absolutely delicious breakfast, and gracious and engaging hosts Catherine and John who made us feel right at home. Will definitely be...

What a wonderful stay! The room beautiful, the bed super-comfy ... and Catherine's considerate hospitality and elegant touches made us feel welcome and pampered. She made dinner reservations for us, served a delicious breakfast ... it was a delightful place to stay.
