We spent a few days here and I would like to share my experience. My husband, myself, and 3 small children stayed here. The cabin was very small but we managed. The first attempt at using the shower was shocking. It was too small for even my 8 year old! We tried to keep busy and spent very little time in the cabin, we basically just slept here. We left on Tuesday 11/22 and today we received an email stating they were charging us $257 in damages. I’m including costs. - $49 charge for dirty towels (they said they are stained) however, they are pictured on the cabin floor and weren’t washed. - $49 to replace a broken curtain rod (nothing was broken, it looks like a ring slid off the end). - $159 for a snagged rug runner - that was Walmart quality, not wort $159. - $35 charge for trash removal - there were no instructions on what to do with trash so I took the two trash bags and put them on the front porch for easy removal. They said we broke a fishing pole but it was a cheap fishing pole that I purchased, used, and then discarded of because we didn’t want to bring it home. This does not seem fair at all! We are in shock that a business would operate like this! This is not $257 worth of damage, this is robbery! …
My wife and I have never seen any accommodation cleaner than this one! Also, it was well equipped with anything and everything one might need. The very attractive decorations tied in well with the area. The bed was very comfortable. The area around the cabin was exceptionally quiet and peaceful. Alfredo was very kind, available, and helpful. He, the cabin, the nearby surroundings and the people who live there made us feel much more like honored guests than tourists. An added and unforeseen bonus was the absolutely beautiful Valle Crucis Community Park! It is hard for us to imagine going back to the area and staying anywhere else other than the Valle Crucis Farm!
We recently took a weekend trip for a mini getaway. We rent The Bear Cabin for two nights. The farm/ property is easy to find and in our opinion well located to the surrounding popular towns. The property is pet friendly and has decent flat (and lighted!) space for your pet to do their business just outside the cabin. The cabin and property were very clean, and well maintained. It’s brilliantly decorated with properly sized furniture for the space, while small (but perfect), seems very spacious! Our cabin could sleep 5 with a main bedroom, large futon, and a loft. The owners are very friendly and back and forth communication is excellent. We will definitely be staying again!!!
My wife, our Scottie & I spent 3 great nights in the "Bear" cabin. It is small (but we knew that before we came), VERY clean, comfortable bed, well outfitted, and nicely decorated. The owner was friendly, attentive, and hospitable. Great get-away with stream to fish and trails to walk. Our little terrier loved it, except for the decorative resin bear head on the wall. She thought he was coming through the wall. Had to cover it with my hat :). We'll be back.
Our family stayed in The Bear Cabin and our 8-year-old daughter felt so special having her own loft to sleep in. Alfredo checked us in and he is a most friendly and cordial host. The property was just lovely to explore: horses, a couple of friendly dogs, a beautiful creek, private trails. The cabin was immaculate - absolutely clean beyond compare. Knotty pine throughout and the cozy decor made us feel like we were in a rustic retreat, while the flat-screen TV (with free Netflix), free Wi-Fi, and Keurig coffeemaker were state-of-the-art. We were in the area to visit Tweetsie Railroad and Blowing Rock, and surprisingly our stay at this cabin was the highlight of our trip.
We recently stayed at Valle Crucis Farm and were extremely impressed. The Bear Cabin was as neat as a pin and perfect for our family. The price was very reasonable and the setting is just wonderful. We'll certainly be back next year.
Stayed at the Nuthouse...it was so clean and cozy. We were 4 friends and it was very comfortable...rustic and lovely. Alfredo was very accomodating and we made friends with their dogs who came up to the cottage to greet us in the morning. I would recommend VC Farm to all...
Great location, reasonable rates, quaint lodging with super friendly hospitality and all the property is at your disposal to play. The Bear cabin is small but easily sleeps a family of 6. Kids loved the loft. We spent our days exploring the beautiful North Carolina Mountains and our late evenings playing in the creek at Valle Crucis Farm and sleeping in the comfortable bed.
We loved staying at the Nut House! Hope to bring my friends back soon. The room was cozy and very charming. We went hiking to the waterfall and up to the Solitude Cabin. I would definitely come back again.
My family of four stayed in one of their cabins for one night and we will be so happy to return in the future. The cabin is so cozy and charming. My children LOVED the loft upstairs and waking up to the owners friendly dogs on our porch! Such a pleasure dealing with the owner, I have already spread the word to friends where I live if they want a getaway that is not far from home but makes you feel like you are and all for an affordable price. I can't wait to return! Really looking forward to an end of summer trip to do the horseback riding they offer on site as well. Thank you SO much for an awesome weekend trip for our family!
