We had a very enjoyable time at Blue Ridge Villa. They were ver attentive to our needs. Our place was roomy. Comfortable beds, nice, thick towels, gas fireplace, different activities were available onsite.. Location allowed us to visit different places. We loved it.
Enjoyed the resort except for the absence of a swimming pool. Also, two requests made to the front desk were not fulfilled including a request for more garbage bags and help with the fire pit by the lake. We enjoyed the mini golf, basketball court, the views of mountains and the close proximity to Food Lion, restaurants and attractions.
We’ve stayed in numerous Bluegreen properties and by far the ones we always return to are the ones that give our family reasons to spend time together. Whether you’re pedal boating at Tradewinds, playing poolside games at the Fountains, or now crafts, fishing and s’mores at Blue Ridge the simple fun is the best fun. I asked my kids, 18 yo daughter and 15 yo son, what they wanted to do in Banner Elk on our free day when we weren’t skiing. We read the list of all the coasters, rentals, and other for purchase activities that we assumed they would prefer. My daughter said, “I heard they were painting tote bags today, can we do that and then make s’mores by the fire?” And before I could answer, my son adds, “And I’d rather stay here and fish and play basketball.” We made a day of it with a family round of putt putt, tote bag painting contest, basketball and fishing, topped off with s’mores by the fire. (Aiden was a good sport and put up with all of our foolishness and gave us some good local suggestions. He definitely earned a bonus.) When your teens choose to hang out with their parents at the resort instead of breaking the bank at the tourist traps, we’ll definitely be back. I’m pretty sure there’s already a list started for things they want to do here next time.…
We stayed in a 2 bedroom Blue Ridge Village unit. The unit is comfortable and big enough for 4. The unit is dated, but appeared clean. The beds appeared to be newer and were comfortable. Within 30 minutes or less are both Sugar and Beach Ski areas, Hawknest tubing, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, Blowing Rock, Linville Caverns, several gem mining companies, and many good restaurants.
Pros: Great location to be able to visit Banner Elk and Boone. It is centrally located so not a long drive to any activities. Staff was great at check in. Activities center is nice and lots for kids to do on the property. Cons: Old outdated units with old carpet that is fraying in multiple locations. Old worn furniture that was not clean. Beds are very uncomfortable. Bathrooms are not user friendly and have large deep tubs that are also the shower with no steps, fall hazard when wet. The condos are 2 story and we were on the bottom floor. Lots of noise through the floor all through the night due to kids above jumping off the beds and couches at 2:30 in the morning! (Spoke to staff and nothing was done about it).
The location of this place is very good, but the unit we stayed in was very dated. The carpet and furniture was very worn out. The beds and bedding were very comfortable! Also, they did not have a pool, which was disappointing.
This is our 3rd time over the years staying here and it’s the best trip yet. The checkin staff was amazing and so friendly. The maintenance man came by to help with the tv and we came across another employee in the grounds during our visit. They were all super nice. They have really improved over the years. I think our first visit was over 10 years ago. The check in building is beautiful. They have several activities during the week. We come for skiing and snowboarding so we love the convenient location just a few minutes to Sugar Mountain. I had to work and my daughter had some schoolwork. The Wi-Fi was fast and dependable. Pool building is no longer there but they are doing a lot of work upgrading the area around the pond and campfire area.
Really loved the area of NC mountains. Alpine coaster is a must! Our Anniversary Trip The one bedroom unit was very spacious and had all of the kitchen set up so we could eat & cook in the unit! they have a cool game room also!
Do not book first unit due to noise from the second floor units. Great view of the mountains. Easy to access in Banner Elk NC. The showers are kinda small and the bathroom tub is a little outdated. Shower needs to be bigger.
Clean resort, nice beds, wonderful temperatures for July....not so hot since it's in higher elevation. Easy quick drive to Blue Ridge Parkway. They have a good selection of DVD movies and you can check out a DVD player to take to your room.
