12-22-2022 Reserved a room at the Blowing Rock inn. 12-27-1022 7:00pm - Checked in. I was told at check in that they had been having some maintenance issues lately and that while my room was ready, they still needed to vacuum the floors. Why does a motel with a check in time of 3pm have to make their guest wait for their room to be cleaned when they arrive at 7pm? We had a reservation. It’s not like they didn’t know we were coming. 7:15pm As the employee who vacuumed our room was leaving, he informed us that it “might be a while before the hot water will work.” I took this to mean minutes rather than hours AND I should have been warned of this at the front desk at check in. 10:00pm - STILL NO HOT WATER. I called the office to inquire as to when I could expect to have hot water in my room and was told it was out of their hands and that they could not assure me if I would have hot water before the next day. Midnight - STILL NO HOT WATER. Decided to go to bed without a shower. 10am - STILL NO HOT WATER. I went to the office to check out and spoke with Rebecca about the issue. Her response was, “we are working on it.” After a short conversation, I determined that Rebecca was powerless to offer any type of restitution, so I asked to speak to a manager. She said she would contact the manager and instruct them to call me. I told her I would wait 24 hours before I left a negative review. I never received a call. THEY APPARENTLY DO NOT CARE.…
My husband and I stayed in one of their villas for 3 nights. The room was very clean and spacious and very comfortable. The person in the office when we arrived and when we checked out, Dorrie, is a real asset to this business. She is friendly and informative and very helpful. We will be back!
The Blowing Rock Inn was our go to inn in Blowing Rock for years. It was a family owned and operated inn but unfortunately has been recently bought by a corporate entity, which bought out many of the local inns. For the price of the stay you would you would expect to get a good bed, but no! Room 111 has the worst mattress I have ever slept on, ever, including sleep sofas. I could not sleep on it. It was like being in a hole. The mattress was completely shot! Absolutely horrible! I question if I’ll ever stay there again. Change out the mattresses! One positive, the WiFi was excellent unlike before. This used to be my favorite place to stay, but this has really soured me!
Excellent place to stay! Very clean and kept up well, nice bedding. The staff are very accommodating too! No breakfast service but there are nice restaurants in the area. Very convenient location. No complaints, will definitely stay here again!
My wife and I loved the location. The room was very warm and homey when we arrived. Everything was clean and well taken care of. Great staff, very kind and helpful upon check in. Great location for shopping and dinning We will be back!
Great location in Blowing Rock. Easy walk to all of the restaurants and shops downtown. The room was very cozy and clean and the beds were very comfortable. Ruth was very accommodating and helpful during our stay. We enjoyed sitting by the outdoor fire pit in the evening too. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.
We stayed at the Bloing Rock Inn for a weekend getaway. Haley was very helpful checking us in, escorting us to our room. We had a king bed room, which was clean and comfortable with plenty of space, which we had not expected from reading previous reviews. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was very quiet, in spite of the Inn being full. We would definitely stay here again.
Small but very nice hotel located in Blowing Rock, NC. Rooms were clean and comfortable plus the shower was great. There are a lot of good bars and restaurants in the area, plus plenty of convenience stores if you need something quick. Also the free coffee is always appreciated.
I don’t like to leave negative reviews, but facts are facts. We just returned from staying at here, and these are the facts. We didn’t have any hot water for our stay. We inquired about the hot water situation, and where told “we can’t help that everyone is showering” and that “maybe in an hour there would be hot water”. That was unacceptable. We were not at blowing rock, to stay on a dive hotel. Also, the room smelled musty, and the carpet was old with wrinkles. Each room has a screen door - but the doors do not have any cushioning. So they slam every time someone arrives or leaves. The walls let sound come right thru, so if you are looking for a place that is noisy, dirty/musty without hot water this is your spot. Definitely not a 4 star place, and definitely not worth the money. Sorry to say.…
My wife and i stayed two days in room 102 over Thanksgiving. Small clean room. We had no hot water the entire time. There is no one to help you and when u do find someone they do nothing. they give you an 800 # to call but they just take messages. very frustrating. i have left 3 messages with no return call. The fact that you can hear your neighbors come and go also create an unwanted distraction all during your stay. We would NOT recommend this hotel unless someone would pay under $30 / night. However, u still wouldnt get hot water.
