My husband surprised me with a quick trip to Blowing Rock for our anniversary in late August. He booked a villa at Blowing Rock Inn and it ended up being such a sweet, quaint place for us to stay. The inn is an old roadside motel that has been completely renovated into a charming mountain inn. They have regular rooms, but my husband booked us a villa, which was a den/kitchen combo, bedroom, and bath with a front porch. The villas are in the back of the property, so kinda secluded and very quiet. They are named after the seasons, and we stayed in Winter. Every inch of the villa had been recently redone - everything was like new, and it was very clean and cozy. It had a fireplace in the den but we did not use because it was still summer, and it had a chaise-style couch, chair, and kitchen table with a small kitchen and mini-fridge. The only thing that was not new was a recliner that looked out of place. The bedroom was large with a king bed and a fake electric fireplace, but we enjoyed the kinda cheesiness of the fake fire - not sure if it actually provides heat. There is AC, and bathroom was very spacious and all new with plenty of towels and toiletries. The only complaint I had was the hairdyer was old and needs updating, and the wifi was a little weak, but none of that took away from our wonderful stay here. The grounds to the hotel are so cute with a gazebo, wooden swing, and outdoor firepit area. We had rocking chairs on our front porch, which was so nice to sit and enjoy cool mountain breezes. The hotel is in the heart of Blowing Rock and is walking distance to the main street area with lots of shops and restaurants. We had breakfast at the Mexican place down the street and it was such a surprise how good it was! I was impressed with how well Blowing Rock is handling Covid precautions, with all places requiring masks and many shops stating on their doors that employees were vaccianted. The hotel also had good precuations and we felt very safe here. We had a lovely anniversary at this little inn and are thinking of booking again and bringing our daughter back in a couple weeks to see the fall leaves and colors!

We stayed at the Meadow brook Inn which is across the street but was unable to stay another night as they were full. We booked a room at the Blowing Rock Inn that was $258.00 for one night. Room was small especially the bathroom. There was no wifi and I was lied to when they told me there was , supposedly they are switching companies and it was down for the switch. Why would you not let your customer know that? IT'S CALLED GREED1The AC was another problem it only worked sporadically and the curtains hang in front of it so when it did work you didn't get the air flow. We talked to the front office clerk but nothing was done. I asked her to have Melissa the GM call me but she did not. We asked for some kind of discount for the inconvenience, as I needed the internet for work but Melissa said the Internet is free anyway so no credit. She didn't even address the AC. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT STAY HERE OR THE Boxwood Inn, as they own that property as well. I'd give it zero star if I could!

Very clean except for a few hairs in the bathroom, which was blessedly free of mold. Excellent water pressure and hot water. Comfortable bed with clean white linens, although some might find it too soft. TV worked just fine. Keurig coffee machine, fridge, and microwave. Pleasant garden in the middle of the parking lot. A/C worked okay, but was not in the best shape. Actually cool enough to sleep with the window open, though. No housekeeping at the moment, but I only stayed one night. Easy walking distance to the downtown shops and restaurants. Given poor mobile service in the area, very frustrating that the WiFi did not work at all during my stay -- the receptionist mentioned it was intermittent at check-in, but it didn't work at all. The problem seemed to be that the network was not properly configured, which is a very easy thing to fix. For a small motel room -- albeit a very pleasant room -- I felt it was overpriced, but all of the accommodation in Blowing Rock is apparently pretty expensive. My room was cleaner and nicer than my family's rooms in the full-service hotel across the street.

Short notice Birthday getaway. Reservation staff was great and answered all my questions. This is an older motel style hotel. We stayed in the duplex villas and had a bedroom, living area. Decor is plain...no need as the location and surrounding views are awesome. There was a faint musty smell that cleared once we were in and opened some windows...similar to any other older beach/mountain location. The cleanliness of the inn was incredible, really incredible, I can't say that enough. We will go back!

Under new ownership, expensive place to stay now. Room was comfortable and clean. No one on site, but check in was easy enough. Location is good. Tripadvisor requires more characters, so here they are.
