The hospitality was very welcoming and accommodating. We arrived later at night and the staff made it very easy to get our keys and instructions. Very clean rooms with updated and clean bathrooms. Bedding was comfortable and pretty. The mattress and pillows were a bit uncomfortable. The grounds were nicely landscaped. It is situated for a very short walk to the restaurants and downtown.
We enjoyed our stay here. The welcome was warm and friendly with advice on where to go, places to see and restaurants to visit. The room was fine. The bed comfortable. This is an old motel type property that has been updated so the bathroom is still small like it was when built. These in-town accommodations are "mom and pop" establishments , no commercialized accommodations in the town itself . Blowing Rock is such a quaint town and this motel is conveniently located to the downtown area. The only complaint I had was that the tub was not clean, everything else was acceptable. Coffee maker in the room...no breakfast but if you need more coffee all you had to do was ask.
Horrible place!! Swayed bed which caused us to roll into middle, so no comfort at all!! An air conditioner that squeals a constant high pitched whistle, so couldn't sleep all night. Plus a television that freezes up, shower that doesn't drain properly, no blankets, and a toilet that takes 3 tries to flush.
We picked this hotel because my wife needed wifi for an all day zoom. We told them that when we made the reservation. It didn’t work. Nor did the tv! When’s the last time you went to a hotel and the tv didn’t work? What about zero response from the manager after two email attempts? The young front desk attendant game me her email. I told her in my email I would write this horrifyingly bad review if she didn’t respond in 3 days. I waited two weeks. Crickets… This place makes the Motel 6 look like the Ritz Carlton. ……would you pay $250 a night for no tv, no wifi, no parking, and a very worn down hotel? Of course not. If I was the owner of this asset I would clean house with current management and invest some money in the absolute minimum requirements of a hotel in 2021…..TV and wifi…
Upon arrival, noticed carpet had not been vacuumed. Late on first night when pulling comforter down, sheets appeared wrinkled and not clean. Then, realized there was sand or crumbs in the bed. They did change the next morning upon request and vacuumed. It was obvious that the room had not been cleaned well at all. A/C was not working properly, 1 bar of soap, no kleenex and they do not refresh your towels, or other amenities regardless of how many nights you are there such as coffee, shampoo, towels, etc. Furniture was dusty. They offer NO snacks for breakfast or evening although that is not my issue. I have stayed here for years but will not be back. I have contacted them 3 days straight asking to speak to mgmt but have yet to receive a call. They are pathetic. This is unfortunate.…
This is a quaint little inn. The rooms are nice and we didn't hear a lot of noise. The parking is limited if the hotel is full. Great location and you can walk all around Blowing Rock. Lots of restaurants to choose from. The staff was great and always helpful.
Serious updates are needed as well as dealing with the main issue of an insect infestation. Ants crawling on the furniture as well as my wife discovering one on her hair. When reported to the management they were indignant and refused to even allow a discount.
My family stayed for 4 nights in the lavender twilight cottage. It had 2 bedrooms and a full kitchen. All of the furniture is very dated. Not antique, just old and dirty. The pull-out couch had garbage in it. There was garbage under the recliner. There was only seating for 4 in the living room. The bathroom was a joke, the jacuzzi shower combo thing did not work properly. Only the hot water handle worked to fill the jacuzzi, you had to run the shower in cold to make the water the proper temp. It took ages to fill that way. The bathroom was very dirty, we went to Walmart and got our own cleaning supplies and gave the cottage a once over. The carpets need steam cleaning. The curtains are heavy with old dust. The beds creek when you move. It is in the center of town, but that is really its only redeeming quality. I LOVED the town of Blowing Rock, I will be back with my vacation dollars. Just not to this property. Here's a tip for the Ridgeway Inn - Hire a cleaning crew and have that cottage gone over one afternoon. I would think you could find a cleaning company to do a deep clean for a couple hundred bucks. Replace some of the furniture and for goodness sakes fix the bathroom fixtures. THEN and only then it might be worth the 260 a night you are charging.…
Parking lot was a huge problem, very small parking spaces and people not parking so other's could get in. Room very outdated and didn't appear real clean. Walls were very thin and you could hear every small noise in adjacent rooms. There was a window air conditioner that was noisy and a ceiling fan. The bed was probably the most uncomfortable I have slept on in many years. The location is good, right in the middle of downtown. The price we paid for two nights was outrageous given the condition of the room. This was our first trip to Blowing Rock and we love the area, we won't be using these accomodations again. My wife found it very ironic that the clerk didn't ask how our stay was while she was checking out.
We stayed in the lavender twilight cottage. The room was filthy the kitchen was not stocked We paid $1291 for five nights. Spiderwebs mold and mildew filthy kitchen with flies and dead bugs in the stove bottom drawerful
