Was disappointed there is no breakfast, but was told the city of Blowing Rock changed the code and it would have been expensive for them to convert an area to be able to serve food. The central check in area was closed a lot of the time due to the pandemic and being short staffed. Our room was very nice. The front desk staff called our home phone # to communicate with us. Not sure why they didn't just call the room. I had no idea they were doing this until we got home. It was nice to be able to call a # on one of their brochures to ask for more towels and such. A great location. We enjoyed sitting on the little island in the middle of the lake and enjoying the view as well as walking up the road to see the Christmas parade.
Reserved Cottage 122 for 3 nights. The place is SO RUN DOWN and dirty. The sofa and chair give you a back ache. The bedroom looked nothing like the pictures. The sheets were put on wrong side out and as thin as a kleenex. I had to go to Goodwill and buy pillows to support the sinking sofa. There was 2 forks, 1 teaspoon, 1 salad fork in the kitchen drawer. No dishwasher tablets or liquid soap, so I bought some. The pillows were really lumpy and flat. The bed was extremely soft with no support either. I paid $150 for my pets, and for that I expect that the rooms be CLEANED if others brought pets. I wanted to get a mop and clean the grime off of the floors, but that is not my job. Overall, I was glad to get out of Blowing Rock. It is not longer a pleasant vacation spot.
While the setting is nice with a pond in front and a stream in the back, the motel itself is quite run-down. The board walkway leading to the rooms has loose boards and broken ones that seemingly invite falls and lawsuits. A complimentary breakfast is no longer served, per the front desk clerk, because the kitchen failed the health inspection. With the proper attention and investment, this property could be a nice place to stay.
I wouldn't recommend staying here. The night I stayed, I paid extra for a jacuzzi suite (the only reason I paid extra for that room), and the jacuzzi didn't work. The next day I emailed management about the issue and how disappointed I was. Eleven days later I finally received a response, saying they couldn't replicate the issue I had and that they were sorry I was dissatisfied. After they emailed me, I immediately emailed back, yet I have not received any further communication from them. It's been 4 weeks since their last email, and over a month since our stay. I think that's more than enough time for them to make things right. I feel that I was really nice and accommodating about this issue, and that they could have at least offered to refund us the difference between a standard room and the jacuzzi room (I think it was about $40). The Village Inn was a very nice facility and met our needs while visiting Blowing Rock. It was pet friendly and walking around the grounds and town was enjoyable. The front desk person Ashley was very responsive to a couple concerns we had about the room, addressed our concerns immediately and even kept in communication with the hotel manager. Really enjoyed our stay at The Village Inn.
We had a wonderful stay in Blowing Rock. The amenities of the hotel were great, bed was comfortable, and location was superb. The staff was helpful and Kali made us feel very welcome. We'll definitely be back!
We had a nice room when we ask for clean towels and cloths they brought them right away with shampoo and body wash in case we were out, also more coffee pods to make sure we had plenty. If your like a soft mattress you will love theirs, we slept fine. I will have to say I was not crazy about the towels they were too ruff. The night before we were leaving I dropped something it went under the bed , I can say for certain under the bed, also night stands no one had cleaned under them in a long time! We usually stay at another place but waited to long to book. It wouldn't be my first pick but would consider staying again but will inspect under bed and night stands.
This motel was nice it was more like a cottage/cabin my grandchildren loved it it did not have a person at the front desk the person had to meet us there that was kind of weird, it also did not have any kind of breakfast but it was clean and in a good location,The beds were comfortable and my granddaughter loved the creek outback and the pond in front
This hotel looks nothing like the photos . It is a converted old roadside motel . The rooms are old dated, small , bathroom is tiny , ours had a portable air conditioner with the exhaust vent running out the window . I don’t understand how trip advisor rate this dump the #1 place to stay in blowing rock , everything else must be a tent
This place was probably an older motel, back in it's day. Price for one night was reasonable, $145.00 plus fees. Place was almost empty, right off of the highway in Blowing Rock, NC, that leads to Boone. Walking distance to the Main St. in Blowing Rock, However, up a hill is where you have to go. The women that worked there, said they have other properties in town, closer to everything. Room was clean, had a small back balcony, that looked over a stream, it just needed to be blown off, no big deal. Had a larger deck, off of the main lobby, which was also nice for sitting and having a glass of wine. Lobby very comfortable and clean, as well. Bed was fine, small sitting area in the room itself, was also nice. Showering was a bit of a challenge, old school tub, with a circular curtain, old plumbing fixtures, mixing hot and cold was hard to achieve, For the money, nowadays I would recommend at the above price. Excellent restaurant, called "Twigs" was a two minute walk, one property over, had a nice bar in it as well, Opens at 5:00 PM.…
