The Homestead Inn is awesome! Rooms are quaint, cozy, and immaculate! Rooms include high speed internet, fridge, microwave, coffee pot, flat screen tv with DVD players, hairdryer, and toiletries. Some rooms have a fireplace and/or jacuzzi. We are located in a beautiful setting, just half a block from downtown, and less than 5 miles from the ski slopes and all of Blowing Rock’s other main attractions; including: the Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian State University, Tanger Outlets, etc. We are known for our award winning gardens and flowers and provide a swing, gazebo, picnic table, fire pit, dog walk area, and grill area in the middle of it for all of our guests. Our guests coined our nickname “your home away from home”, for a reason. We hope you’ll come stay and discover your own home away from home.

The Homestead Inn is an outstanding jewel in downtown Blowing Rock. The descriptions and summary of their property and lodging options were spot on, and we were most pleased with our accommodations. The location is an easy stroll to shops and restaurants but also far enough away to enjoy a quiet evening in the lovely courtyard. Our room (#15) was compact but very comfortable and the grounds were exceptionally well-groomed and maintained. The staff, specifically Chris, was most attentive to guests and helpful with local business recommendations. We would highly recommend this pet-friendly property to those that are seeking comfort, convenience, and cleanliness.

Stayed at the Homestead for three nights in early June. We selected room #8, designed to be a premium experience including a two person jacuzzi. When we arrived there was no one in the office and we had to check ourselves in getting our key out of a box at the front office. Same situation when we checked out.
The room itself was cozy and well equipped. In fact it was an engineering feat to get a loveseat, chair, king bed and a chest of drawers that doubled as a dining table into the space. The jacuzzi was a treat.
The downsides: the freezer worked but not the refrigerator. The bathroom floor was dirty when we checked in; this was later remedied. Also it seems there was something sprayed on all the grass to keep dogs off; ours would not step on it, even the grass behind all the units on the south side. This was a bit inconvenient; maybe a pine straw area would be a good idea. In a pet friendly inn, dogs have to do what dogs have to do.

The owners have done a good job of updating the room in this motor court type property. Very clean with nice towels and linens. We had a King Deluxe and it was pretty small but comfortable for a short stay. Nice fireplace with flat screen tv above. Refrigerator and microwave was a plus. The only negative was there is really no place to "unpack" your clothes. There was no dresser or closet. There was a small area with a few hangers in a corner -- but we just lived out of our suitcases. There were a lot of dogs but we were not bothered by them. We were happy we didn't bring our 100 pound Golden Retriever as it would have been tight with him in the room. The location to town is what puts this at a higher price point. There were two rocking chairs outside the room but your "view" are the cars in the parking lot directly in front of you. There were some nice swing benches and a fire pit that we did not use. Lovely flowers on property. Staff seemed attentive and committed to cleanliness in this time of Covid. Would stay again

We enjoyed our large rustic room (#9). It had 2 comfy chairs, a large screen TV, and a fireplace. Everything was neat and clean. Caroline, the owner, is very friendly and lives right there on the property. Anything we needed for our room was quickly supplied by Sheri and the housekeeping staff. The grounds at The Homestead are amazing; there are gorgeous blooming plants everywhere, many comfortable seating areas, 2 ponds, and a gas fire pit. The Inn is one block off Main Street Blowing Rock, so the location is perfect!

We recommend The Homestead Inn highly. The only downside was wifi availability. It rarely worked in our room; we couldn't send photos to our family or post to social media easily from the property. But the upsides of the Homestead more than made up for any wifi inconvenience!!

Overall, a good location and nice place to stay. This was our second time at this property. The first time was about 7 years ago. The first room was very cramped. The large bed took up all the space and you really have to shimmy your way around the bed at every turn. This time we got a bigger room with a kitchenette. The bathroom was very large with a jacuzzi tub which was very nice after a long drive to get to our destination. There were many nice things about this place and I'll start there. You can't beat the location. It was within walking distance to main street and everything we needed. The front desk staff was very helpful. Our key was waiting for us at the desk and the person who checked us in was so kind. We did not know that they have Tesla charging and we were very glad to see it. They allowed us to park in that spot throughout our stay. We used a cone to reserve the spot whenever we went out. We also found out that they let another regular guest use a cone in a parking space right in front of their room because of physical limitations. That is so very thoughtful of the Homestead Inn. The Inn also allows dogs in certain rooms and that again says a lot about the owners.

I really do think the Inn is a lovely place to stay but I do have a few nit picky things.
* The furniture felt sticky. I think it could do with a good wipe down considering we are still in a pandemic.
* The kitchenette could use a sponge. There is a sign advising of an extra charge if dishes are not washed. So it would have been helpful to have a sponge.
* The bed was just too high. I happened to be speaking to another guest who also said the same thing.
* Part of the charm of this place is the old furniture but the small love seat in the room sank in the center. It just wasn't comfortable after a long day.
* And finally, I don't know if there's anything that can be done, but the smell of other guests smoking right outside the front doors emitted into our room. Every time we opened our door, the smoke ended up in our room.

The inn keepers were wonderfully accommodating, they put cones out around our motorcycle so that nobody would hit them. Also, they arranged for a special romance package including local chocolate dipped strawberries, black and white cookies, candles, bath bombs- it was amazing. Super close to everything in town, and wonderfully accommodating for everything we could have needed. We only get away once a year, and we are so happy we chose the Homestead!

My wife and I along with our dog Nella spent three beautiful days at The Homestead Inn, an old motor lodge with charm and character. The King size bed and pillows were comfortable, window unit heat was sufficient for the space, bathroom had a jetted tub, room was cleaned daily, refrigerator, microwave and coffee all operated nicely. The Inn has a pet walk behind the building. 200’ walk leads to beautiful downtown Blowing Rock with restaurants, awesome parks and walks and benches to relax. Located only a few miles from Boone Fork Trail, Green Knob trail and so many other great hikes, waterfalls, and views.

If you like the feel of a cozy cottage, this is the place for you. I have stayed here many times over the years and have never had a bad experience. The location right off Main Street puts you within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and the park. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are nicely decorated to tie in with the mountain charm. The Inn Keepers take great pride in maintaining the rooms and the grounds, including seasonal flowers and a manicured lawn. Highly Recommend!

Our home away from home every 3rd week of June. We are invariably given extremely wonderful consideration, whether it's a small issue about the bathtub , a spot for dinner or saving us a parking spot for our big ole' truck.
Whe I call Caroline to get reservation, it's like talking to an old friend. We've had " our" room for over 10 years. Pulling in, seeing Rob's gorgeous gardens and knowing this week will be comfy-cozy is so reassuring.
And--Walking distance to dinners and ice cream!

My husband and I had a reservation for a cabin stay in downtown Blowing Rock that unfortunately had to be cancelled due to an unexpected electrical problem, and the remainder of their accommodations were fully booked (these folks were also very nice to deal with). We were already on the road to BR and had counted on having a full kitchen and a Tesla charger for our 2 night stay. Homestead Inn graciously let me book on the phone and made sure to hold the charging parking spot for us.

The room (9) was very cozy, fully equipped and very clean. The lovely stone fireplace provides the only heat, but it was plenty. More than plenty sometimes, so we just opened a window and/or turned on the ceiling fan. The only minor item (for me) is that the king sized bed is very soft, which makes it a bit hard to climb into and out of, but we slept very well.

When the sudden snow/high wind storm came through, we extended our stay by another night so we could enjoy the snow. The owner’s son kept the parking lot and sidewalks clear and even helped dig out car out of the snow. Would definitely recommend!
