The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming, offering local tips and guidance. The room’s furniture was a little dated, but overall very comfortable. We stayed in 310, which had a jacuzzi tub, gas fireplace and full Kitchen this would be a great place to come back in Spring/Summer for hiking trips.
Great room at reasonable price. Had an overnight in blowing rock, NC. The staff is very friendly and must helpful. The room was huge and quite comfortable. A great view from the terrace . Definitely recommend.
Our room was spacious, we also had a ceiling fan which was nice. There were two glider chairs in our room which was also very nice. The owner greeted us and brought ice to our room as we were checking in. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the shower had plenty of hot water and water pressure. It is located conveniently close to the Tanger Outlets, Tweetsie Railroad and several great restaurants. Would definitely recommend!
The welcome was warm, gracious and accommodating. The room was spacious with a beautiful view from the private balcony and was very clean. It was reasonably priced and a convenient location. And they’re pet friendly with only a modest per fee. . 😄
Pros. TVs in every room, beautiful view on deck, comfortable king bed, clean, friendly management. Cons, unfortunately water pressure was very bad, turned water off to fix and unable to get showers til after 9:30pm when water was turned back on. AC/Heat was out in Queen Room. Walked in to very musky smelling apartment. Queen beds were like box springs, dated bathrooms. Pictures on website did not depict what we walked into. The town is precious, but we were disappointed with lodging.
Our one night stay was comfortable and comforting. Window in room has panoramic view across balcony of vintage style wood door entrance into room. Clean, spacious. Great lighting and access to web and wide world back outside in beautiful Blowing Rock, NC, in Great Smoky Mountain range. App students and bicycles everywhere in August, plenty of room for them, the tourists, the townies, and even us traveling retirees returning. Sunday morning service 10:10 AM at at St Mary in the Hills Episcopal rock church was indeed awesome and an easy drive after quick checkout. We found Cliffside very hospitable.
this place I cannot recommend. Noone was there when I arrived first - not even at the time, they said they would be there. The room smelled badly and the floors were quite dirty. When I wanted to brew coffee in the morning, I realized there was still cold coffee in the pot from some other guests... When I left in the morning, the office was closed again. Noone there, again.
The inn workers were fabulous, and we had a very large room. The views from our balcony were beautiful. There were several issues with our room, however. There was no microwave. My husband was told it was broken, and we were to get a new one, but never did. The lampshade on our nightstand was broken, the flip lock on the door was missing, the toilet lid was broken, and there is no room service (due to Covid). We had to ask for additional towels and washcloths due to the fact that the workers aren't allowed in our room. The price was excessive with regards to the shape of the room, and no breakfast (we've stayed at other much nicer inns for the same price with a breakfast, yes, even during Covid). We probably won't stay here again unless they do some updating, but again, the staff was very nice and the views were lovely.…
We stayed in Room 305, October 2021. This room is on the end of the building level with the parking area near the office. Here are our pros and cons. Pros...Spacious room with table for 4 and 2 other chairs. The king bed was comfortable. Room and carpet were clean. Great views from windows Somewhat private balcony No stairs to climb to get to room 305. Cons...Bathroom is dated...see photo of tub with cracks in caulk Very small refrigerator under sink in dressing room area. The freezer section was frosted over. No microwave in room No ice available after office closes at 5 or 6pm No breakfast. There was an unpleasant room odor..perhaps a little musty. We purchased an air freshener spray to help out. Balcony in need of a fresh coat of paint Could not get the overhead fan to work. No instructions for how to turn it on. (but we failed to ask for assistance). Will probably not stay again as price is high for no breakfast, limited amenities, older hotel…
The rooms are very clean and spacious. The views are great, but there is a LOT of road noise because it is right off the highway. With the door closed the road noise is reduced. I would have stayed at a place in town, which is a quaint town. We were stuck in the room because of bad weather so noise has become an issue.
