Emily was such a pleasure to deal and she was very thorough in going over the interesting things. She was gracious enough to allow us to check in early. My group was in 105, and the room is perfect for my small group. Thank you so much for the hospitality
This was a good, clean place to stay. The front desk person was extremely cordial and went out of his way to be helpful when checking us in. We also liked that it was within easy walking distance to downtown.
The motel is located conveniently to downtown, The desk manager called us well before 3:00 check in to let us know the room was ready, The room was large and comfortable. The a/c worked well and the room was quiet, except for the fridge did make a humming sound all the time, so we had to disconnect it. The rocking chairs outside the room on the porch were very relaxing. There are snacks for sale in the lobby, and the desk clerk is very helpful. There is a nice porch open to the public with several tables and chairs off the lobby. The internet worked well and there are many TV stations, We would stay here again.
We stayed here with a group. They personalized a welcome letter for us and were very welcoming! The rooms were nice and quaint. Water pressure and temperature in the shower was superb. It was within walking distance of various restaurants and a quiet location. No complaints. Thanks!
We had reservations for two nights. When got to the room there was no place to put our luggage but on the floor. The tv did not receive any live sports or national networks so we returned the key and information envelope to the desk clerk and explained why we were leaving. We were charged $176 for one night and refunded only one night. We will never be back and suggest you do the same.
no live person at front desk - they force you to pay up front and when you find the rooms so unacceptable you immediately call back to cancel they charge you the full "cancellation" fee. don't waste your time or your money at this place.
We are completely satisfied with our stay at the Boxwood Lodge. The staff was excellent in how they treated us. They were very accommodating and happy to help us. The rooms were very clean and spacious. It is pet friendly (as is most of Blowing Rock). It is also close to downtown and we found places to walk to get to different parts of downtown. Thanks for making our visit awesome!
We spent a night here while driving the Blue Ridge Parkway during the pandemic. She called and left a message to confirm, and mentioned there would be no charge if we canceled. (It looked like our room was the only one occupied.) Very nice room with a sitting area and rocking chairs upfront. Didn't see our hosts but key drop worked well. Comfy bed too. Looked convenient to restaurants and shops in Blowing Rock though most things were closed so it didn't matter to us. Very convenient to the Parkway.
Wife and I along with 2 yr old grandson rode up to Boone on a Sat just to get away for the night and everything in Boone was booked. Finally found a room at the Boxwood Lodge in Blowing Rock and it was excellent. Away from the Boone crowd, quiet, rooms very clean and staff were outstanding. Was very cold and windy so spent most of the time in the room but it was a large room and very comfortable. Next time in the area would definitely check with the Boxwood Lodge again.
I very much enjoyed my stay here. There weren't really any chain hotels in Blowing Rock so after reading the reviews, I went with Boxwood Lodge. It is located near the bottom of the road so I chose not to walk uphill to the downtown area but it was a short drive. I asked for a second floor room and they were able to accommodate my request which I appreciated. No elevators though so be careful there. Porch outside with rocking chairs which was a lovely place to sit in the evening and morning. The room was spacious and super cute (painted purple, my favorite color). Clean and quiet-set back a little bit from the road. There is a steep downhill angle into the parking lot to take note of. Close to the main road and not too far from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Staff was also very nice. I would recommend if staying in the Blowing Rock area.…
