We visit the area often and this was our first time staying at the Comfort Suites. It is conveniently located to everything and has a great diner right next door (Troy's Diner). The rooms were immaculate. I don't say this lightly, as we own our own small motel and clean the rooms ourselves so we know how hard it is to keep a room looking this good.

We also loved the layout of the room, with each section (outside of bathroom, bedroom area, couch/table/desk area) having it's own lighting system so you didn't wake others if you were using that area while they weren't.

The breakfast had a large assortment to choose from. They have a waffle station, assorted breads/bagels/muffins/pastries, fresh fruit (bananas, apples, oranges), cereal, oatmeal, grits, yogurts, hard boiled eggs, and two hot items (the two days we were there, one of the items each day was scrambled eggs, the other was biscuits and gravy one day and omelettes the other day). They also had a meat each day (one day was sausage link, the other was sausage patties). And there were plenty of tables to choose from.

The lobby had a large area to sit in as well as a business center right next to it with computers/printers to use if needed.

They had a small store with any items you may need or snacks, beer or wine.

There was a fitness center and a pool. Everything was very clean and maintained.

All the staff we encountered were friendly, from the front desk to the maintenance person, the housekeepers and the breakfast team members.

We definitely recommend this hotel (their prices were very fair) and would come here again.

While we have been long time guests of Comfort Suites and Choice brand properties, we are becoming more and more disenchanted with declining properties and less than expected stays. Our trip to Boone and this property started off with a very delayed check-in due to apparent housekeeping/staffing issues. Rooms were not ready until late evening and then they were found to be very hurriedly made up. This leaves to question that if the bed is not properly made up, what other housekeeping steps were overlooked. Signage detailing disinfecting and cleaning are posted, but it was clear those are not the rule. Maintenance issues where found in room as well as entrance doors that would not operate with key pads. The front desk staff even advised upon check in as to which were not operational. This then requires longer walks to find entrances that operate from the outside when returning to the property. It is apparent that the property was once a showplace in the area, but maybe staffing issues have taken their toll on their cleaning, maintenance and upkeep. The breakfast area and staff were a plus and were working hard on a busy morning. This was a plus considering front desk staff upon check-in and check-out seemed distracted and disinterested in their guests. I would will seek another hotel option for future visits to the Boone area.

Normally you have a pretty good stay at a Comfort Suite. This motel is a bit worn, it’s been in the area for years. The room was adequate. We stayed on the second floor which is convenient to the breakfast buffet. Typical breakfast for the type hotel. In our room, the toilet seat was not stable. It had issues. There was no tissue in the tissue box, only roll of toilet paper was on the holder. I know Covid brought an end to daily room cleaning. In the room was a check tag you could hang on the door to let the cleaning folks know what you would like done. I checked tissue, toilet paper & clean towels. When we returned later in the day, the tag was gone and none of this was done. I called the front desk and was told to come down and get them. Not acceptable! Also If you have a room on the front side, traffic starts about 5:30am. Since this hotel sits close to the highway. It’s pretty loud!

Where do I start? I will start with the positives (which there weren't many), the young man at the front desk was extremely nice & courteous and the breakfast on Thursday morning was great. Now the negatives, we stayed for 4 nights and not once did housekeeping empty our trash, refill the shampoo, etc. in the bathroom, refiil the coffee supplies or cups. We weren't expecting the towels nor linens to be changed daily but did expect basic housekeeping duties performed on a daily basis. Also the hall our room was on did not get vacuumed during our stay as the trash on the carpet outside of our room was still there when we checked out. I could go on and on with the negatives but will only mention one more - the last night we there I witnessed one of the staff let a family in the back door and they were sneaking in a dog!!!! The family with the dog was in room 125. I am a dog lover and had to board our dog due this hotel not allowing pets!!!! We have stayed at this Comfort Suites in the past and was highly satisfied, which is why we dedided to stay there again. But we will not be back to this Comfort Suites and will think long and hard about staying at any Choice Hotel property in the future.

It started at checkin—check in was at 3 but yet rooms were not ready and the whole lobby was full of people waiting for rooms. We were told our room was “ready” only to find that once we got in there they still needed to clean the bathroom. The cleaning crew was very unprofessional, they along with the whole 3rd floor smelled like weed. When we returned at 9 pm they were still cleaning rooms and of course the smell of weed had not went away. To top it off, at 10pm I get a call from the front office waking me up to check and see that I was the correct person in the room?!? How do you not already know this?!? At $200 for one night you would think a place could have it a little more together. Save your money and find a better hotel. I will never return and would never suggest for someone to stay here.

From the bugs on the wall to the rock hard mattresses to the bland breakfast and the paper-thin walls, our stay was a below average experience. If you book this hotel, request a room away from the busy street because it's like there is nothing between you and vehicle noise. It doesn't stop there-- we were also graced with the sounds of people coughing and hacking in rooms all around us, too. I don't fault them because we were coughing, too, but the walls were so thin, we could hear people two or three rooms away. Finally, some courteous traveler left a trail, you read that right, a trail of smashed potato chips on the floor leading to or from the elevator. When the elevator door opened, more chips! I notified the desk person who basically grunted at me (apparently I had interrupted him doing something important in the back office). The trail stayed there for the entire duration of our stay. The plus side is that we could find the elevator again (just followed the trail). Bottom line is that the place's prices were jacked up due to the leaf peeping season, but the place is in serious need of new mattresses, customer service training, and improved windows.

We filled out the door hanger for both rooms requesting complete room service and left the hangers on the doors. However, when we returned that evening, neither room was serviced. Also, upon check in, we were left only 1 small bar of soap for 4 people, the room was unbearably cold with the ac at 62 degrees (took about 7 hours for it to reach a comfortable temp) and there was pink mold in the shower. Plus, the door was ajar when we checked in. Overall, the property is getting rundown - carpeting needs replacing, handles on doors broken, paneling torn from wall in hallway. However, the breakfast staff was very pleasant and helpful.
All of this was made worse by the fact that we paid nearly $1,000 for two rooms for two nights. Definitely not worth it!

I am a Choice Privilege Gold Member and have stayed at many Choice hotel properties over the past 20 years. The Comfort Suites in Boone was one of the worst I have experienced.

Check-in was a total cluster. It said in my reservation that check-in starts at 3pm. I arrived at 3:40. There was a line of e different groups ahead of me. By the time the one desk clerk got to me, she announced that there were no more clean rooms left to be assigned and that we should all just leave. What? She wouldn't even let us check in and get assigned so that when the room was cleaned, we could go in. Lucky for me I didn't leave the property and a room of the type I had reserved became available 20 minutes earlier. We left to go out to dinner and when we got back at 8pm, there were still weary travelers in the waiting area waiting for a room to be cleaned.

That was just the start of a miserable experience. WiFi was slow and overwhelmed by the number of guests trying to use it. I had to turn it off. In room coffee maker didn't work because they had the wrong size filters. Shower size was incredibly small. Only old lukewarm coffee available in the breakfast area. Furniture was worn and needed replacing. Towels were thin and felt like sandpaper. And for all this "luxury," I had to pay nearly $250 a night. Do yourself a favor and book next door at the Courtyard by Marriott which looks to be a much newer property.

We have stayed at this location in the past with no issues. This time the pool heater was not working, so no pool. On new years eve there were a group of about 15-20 that decided to have a party in the lobby that lasted from 9 pm to 1 am. Numerous calls were made to the front desk but no answer, I'm guessing the poor girl working alone had her hands full! I do not speak Spanish so I could not tell them to shut up! The next morning this group walked through the breakfast area and literally filled their back packs with all of the fruit and yogurts! Due to lack of management I would not recommend staying here. Choice hotels does not have a website that allows customer feedback either...how convenient!

We just enjoyed a two night stay at Comfort Suites Boone. We arrived on a rainy Friday evening, and the check in agent welcomed us with friendly service and recognized my Choice Hotels status with a snack bag gift - a nice touch after our long day of driving. We were given a suite on the second floor, which was convenient for us during our stay since that is where breakfast is served. The suite was spacious enough for our family of five, with room for everyone's bags, and it was clean and well-stocked with toiletries and towels. I do wish I had asked for a quieter room on the back of the hotel, but the traffic was only bothersome when a large truck passed. The breakfast selection and service was great. We couldn't ask for more options, since everyone in our family wants something different. We all found something we liked. The breakfast area can get a little crowded, but everyone was polite and courteous. The parking is easy, and we had no trouble finding a spot. We used the indoor pool both nights, and it was well-maintained with plenty of towels each time. The location next to Troy's Diner made dinner the first night a breeze, too. I would absolutely return to Comfort Suites Boone when we visit family in the area gain.
