Arrived at hotel, did not appear busy - young man checked us in but no one seemed to wear uniform or name tag - did not get his name. In room - there are some eating utensils/kitchenware but no ice bucket. Called and same young man said he would bring up an ice bucket. About 30 minutes later, I came to front desk and asked him about ice bucket (he apologized and said he'd been swamped (appeared to be playing a game on his phone when I approached), went to get ice bucket when a woman came out of an office area and whispered something to him, whereupon he informed me we don't have ice buckets, your room has a refrigerator that makes ice. I mentioned that ice doesn't appear the minute you check in and suggested a bag or something to retrieve ice from machine. He gave me a large trash bag. Sort of irritating that the woman didn't just respond to me (and him) that there was no ice buckets and come up with a solution. Poor customer service. Man and woman breakfast attendants were super-friendly and accommodating. The fellow was joking about looking forward to golfing that day. Again, since no uniforms or nametags, didn't get names.

This is a newer property. The service from the staff was fine & everyone was nice. However whoever designed the electrical portions of this hotel should be fired. When you enter your room the light switches next to the door control ALL electrical outlets in the room this includes the TV, The TV is NOT mounted on a wall directly opposite of the bed but instead on the side so you're forced to watch TV from the side instead of a more natural position straight ahead. Once you switch off the light switches you are then FORCED to reboot the TV (not using the remote) by holing in a button on the bottom of the TV and scrolling through the reboot process which on this TV is extremely difficult. I had to have the front desk clerk come up and do it and he couldn't get it to work. So I then changed rooms and that TV was working but the sound was poor I had to put the volume to 100 just to hear it somewhat. Also the floors in the hallways are littered with what looked to be goldfish & cookies smashed up. the stairwells the same thing. This tells me Housekeeping is not vacuuming the halls and that management is not walking the property regularly to spot check what their housekeeping staff is doing and not doing. Would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel is newly built and well situated on the main road, close the restaurants and shops. Once you get the lay of the land, you’ll not miss the turn from the main road. I have used the hotel for couple of days as a gateway to the Blue Ridge Parkway which is 10 minutes away and very convenient. The parking lot is big and there was always a parking space available. As a Platinum member I was upgraded from a basic room to a corner room (after prompting). While there were better rooms for sale, I did not push the issue. The corner room is large, though have windows only one wall. Hint – mountain view is equal main highway view – so if you are noise sensitive you might want to pass on it. The noise from the street is not bad at night. Everyone was pleasant and eager to help. When the power went out and the TV died the front desk person came up and tried to trouble shoot the issue. The only real issue was the room was not serviced very well before checking in. The shower gel was missing and that is something that is not hard to miss as now there are no independent toiletry but one huge bottle in the shower. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay.

This is a new hotel right beside a very busy road, like just about every hotel in Boone is. So, there's a lot of traffic noise. The rooms are pretty clean, the location is very convenient. Since the place is new, things are a bit glitchy--AC doesn't work right, doors don't close right, etc. That will probably get fixed over time. I wouldn't be excited about staying here again, but I would. There's nothing really wrong with the place. It's doing the best it can. But don't stay at this hotel if you are looking for a peaceful mountain get away. If you're looking for somewhere safe and clean to lay your head at night, and you don't mind traffic noise, this is a great place for that.
