The hotel is located on a hill just outside of town. It is in a quiet location but still near by restaurants and the App State campus.. It was a clean hotel and the staff was pleasant. The beds however, are terribly soft. I spent the two nights there sleeping on the small loveseat, just not pulled out into a bed. It was also difficult to get the room temperature to stay consistent and it would warm up a lot overnight. We did not stay for breakfast but it looked like your typical morning spread.
We stayed for one night and rented two rooms. The room that our friends were in they complained that their room was very warm and no matter how they adjusted the AC, the room did not cool down so they were forced to open up their window to be able to sleep. We rented a King suite and when in our room, all the power had gone out. The young man working the front desk offered to help move us to a One Bedroom suite. After we were all unpacked and settled, we realized that it was a very small one queen bedroom. I called and complained that we had rented and wanted a king bed. After 30 minutes, he called me back and said that “the manager said he fixed our power issue and that we could move back into our original room.” It was now 11pm and we were exhausted. I told him that I didn’t want to move again and asked if we could “somehow be compensated” and he told me that the manager had said that they are “not authorized to make any adjustment on my bill”. In my opinion, that is not acceptable Marriott customer service standards and because of our unfortunate experience at this property, I would not recommend it to any future travelers. There are way too many other great options either in Boone or in Blowing Rock.…
Great stay! We were in town fir a visit to App State. The campus was a short drive away. The room was very spacious. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was good. This is a newer property. The room and grounds were clean. The location is convenient.
This hotel is wonderful! The staff and general manager are so nice and try to accommodate your requests. They go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. This is our hotel Of choice when coming to Boone! I highly recommend this property.
Everything was great and the rooms were nice with only one exception, they were rushing to clean one of our two rooms since it was almost 7pm and they forgot the fridge and dishwasher. Other than that, everything was nice and worth the price. Wanted to specifically mention the GREAT breakfast that Mercedes did an amazing job with! She was so friendly and helpful and made the BEST coffee. It was excellent for a free breakfast buffet.
Great bed, nice size room, nice kitchenette, good breakfast options - instant oatmeal, bagels, toast, waffles eggs, sausage (turkey and pork options), hot chocolate, coffee, tea, milk, juices, yogurt, muffins, boiled eggs, nice topping options for oatmeal/waffle or on their own; peacans, walnuts, raisins, dried cranberries, brown sugar, and some other stuff. Convenient to the BRP and Blowing Rock.
From check in to check out and everything in between, our stay was excellent. Emilee at the reception desk was kind, caring, and extremely professional. Sylvia, our breakfast host, made wonderful waffles and kept all breakfast items well stocked and the dining tables clean. Our room was comfortable and very clean upon arrival. The bed was ultra comfortable, temperature control worked well. The room was quiet and a good shower with thirsty towels made for a very comfortable stay. The location is convenient to shopping and restaurants with plenty of parking right in front. We recommend this hotel.
Check in was a breeze. The room was clean, nice and spacious. The only problem we had was the noise from the room above which isn’t the hotels fault. We would definitely stay there again. Breakfast had plenty of options and their was a grill outside for visitors use.
We stayed here for a quick overnight trip to Boone to do some skiing in the area. The hotel itself was great, they have an indoor heated pool, workout facility, some firepits out front along with a couple of grills and a decent little convenience shop. The room was pretty nice, although a bit small. For suite, I was expecting a larger room, potentially with a sofa, but it only had a small lounge chair to go with the 2 queen beds. The breakfast was great, and probably the best post-covid free breakfast I've had at a hotel. They aren't letting you serve yourself when it comes to the eggs, waffles, and breakfast meat, but honestly, I would rather someone make a waffle for me anyway. They had lots to choose from coffee, juice, milk, yogurt, fruit, bagels, pastries, cereal, oatmeal and then their normal hot offerings. When you have kids, the free breakfast is a really good perk. The only thing that kept me from giving 5 out of 5 was the fact that the walls in the hotel were really thin. I could hear my neighbors coming and going from their room, and their toilet flushing, etc... Overall, good stay, but my main beef with Marriott remains that they don't really offer you any room upgrades with elite status, and they also don't offer rooms on points for occupancy of over 4, which is really tough when you have a family of 5.…
Pros: Good location. Whether its Blowing Rock, App State, Or horn in the west, the location is very good for those things. Kitchen: With COVID, eating in, or taking out is easily done here as the kitchen as all the basics and our room had a table with room for 4. New hotel Morning breakfast Cons: Road noise! We had a room on the very end near the highway and it was very load as you are nearly on top of the road. I suggest forgoing a room on the road side (with a better view?) for a room far away Room was oddly designed, TV was not in a good spot for family viewing I dont like the walk in showers that you have no door to close behind you, always leaves floor wet Lots of noise from adjoining rooms and from rooms above (gave me flashbacks to living in an apartment). Overall, not to bad, and price was right. Good location for Boone things. Wont leave you with a mountain stay, but overall good enough for our spur of the moment trip to Hawksnest.…
