The bed was very comfortable and the room is completely black at night after unplugging the alarm clock. I slept great and it was good to recover after a day of hiking. My room was quiet, although it also was not facing the busy road. The wifi is very fast at 94 Mbps down / 94 Mbps up. Unless you are going to the college campus, the location is bad because it is right off of a very busy road and it is hard to get into the parking lot. The hotel does not include breakfast or coffee in the lobby, so you have to pay for that separately. The "Starbucks" in the lobby is not a real Starbucks.

i checked in greeted by Jillian, a very warm, friendly and professional guest service agent. she did ask me if i wanted a specific location (room location) and typically i am not so particular, but i decided to ask for a room on the outer end of the floor. she accomodated me with this request. we had some interactions with the hotel engineer, didn't get his name, but he was very helpful and very personable. we were a little disappointed that the hotel didn't provide coffee in the lobby or provide breakfast food. not a big deal. i decided to brew some coffee in room, but they did not have any coffee cups present. apparently they had none in inventory, so they had to get some from the starbucks in the lobby. just a little inconvenient. i like to run when i visit new towns, and this is a good city to run in, no trail convenient to the hotel, but the Appalachian State University was only about a half a mile from the hotel. i loved the location of this hotel, and Boone is a great little city. will definitely come back to this city and will stay at this hotel.

Excellent experience at this conveniently located site. I expected clean and comfortable accommodations and they delivered but I was highly impressed by the staff that went beyond just friendly and professional to a level of true "hospitality" that made me feel special. I spoke with two different front desk persons, a food service member and a cleaning person with all being friendly and helpful. I recommend highly.

Poor billing practices and extremely poor follow through on concerns. At check in, I was not informed of a significant increase (double) in my rates from when I reserved the stay. Immediately I went to talk to the front desk supervisor who was not sympathetic or helpful and kept saying that my change in group rate was supposed to have communicated to me and that it was approved by a manager in my company. It had not been approved and my manager had let me know that, after repeated communication, it had been resolved and they were going to honor originally quoted rates. 10+ attempts to resolve have been made, including leaving messages with GM, billing manager, supervisor on site, calling main Marriott number, opening up two cases (because one was closed without any contact). They continue to say that this rate was approved by my manager. I can't believe that it would be okay to quote someone one price and charge them double without informing them ahead of time. This happened to several other people in my group, some have had their rates reduced (but not back to original rates) and some are still waiting....

I also requested room service via the app (less frequent then what I was told at check in) and it was not performed that day--had to request again for the next day. Only requested once for week stay.

The lobby does offer nice seating options and the outdoor seating area out back is spacious. The food is very expensive for the area-as there are many, many alternate options close by with more reasonable rates. The rooms were a good size, as was the bathroom. It would be nice to have more hooks to hang towels.

Sadly I will never stay in another Marriott property in the Boone area due to the poor customer service and the GM manages multiple hotels.

I'm not happy to be writing this review -- we are loyal Marriott travelers and my husband is silver elite status. But I feel compelled to let potential guests know that the Covid safety measures at this location were lax. There we unmasked guests hopping on the elevator with us, unmasked guests walking through the lobby, and a group of unmasked college students having an overnight party (a loud one) on our floor. I spoke with the desk agent about my concerns and tho she typed some things on her computer, nothing changed. There was no obvious spacing out of tables in the cafe area. Finally, the recyclables bin in our kitchen still had the last guests trash in it. At $370 a night we expect better. On the plus side the housekeeping staff was fantastic (5 stars!), and each room does have its own HVAC system.

My wife selected this hotel based on their reputation and commitment to safety. Things seemed safe and nice upon check in. However, on Friday, we ate downstairs in the restaurant and things were very different. Many people were walking around in the lobby and restaurant without masks. Staff members said nothing which was unfortunate. When my wife approached the front desk member about this issue, she said she would alert a manager and have him/her call us. As you can guess, we never received a call. Very disappointing, especially to the Marriot brand as we have stayed in many across the world.

I would recommend a B&B if you are concerned about safety. On a side note, the staff a Beech Mtn ski resort spent more time enforcing a mask policy than this hotel.

Typical Courtyard. Room was clean and comfortable. Location is close to a major intersection, but room was quiet and traffic noise was not an issue. Due to the location, it’s right turn only out of the parking lot, which can be a little bit of a challenge. Definitely worth a return trip if I’m back in the area.

The Courtyard is a nice new hotel however the walls are thin and the rooms at the front hear all road noises. If you are a light sleeper, do not stay here. You hear doors closing, toilets flushing, other guests in their room, etc. The thermostats don’t effectively control the temperature of the room so it’s hard to get the temperature to a consistently comfortable level. Needless to say, we didn’t get much sleep. If noises don’t bother you, it’s a great hotel in a convenient location.

We came here to visit a granddaughter attending APP State. Boone seems a bit expensive and the average cost for our room was about $180. This is ski season and its reality.
The room was nicely appointed, very spiffy, and appeared new.

I have to say up front that Marriott's 3 day cancellation policy is not comparable to the same day, 1 day and 2 day cancellation policies of other hotel franchises. I really would prefer not to use Marriott but this time I had little choice. Being a platinum member which comes with a variety of “privileges” I requested a change from the rep at the front desk to breakfast benefit from my original request for benefit points. “No can do,” said the girl at the desk. Then I checked my account online and seeing that the points had not been notedI made the representative aware of it and requested the substitution again . She again refused ,but gave me a non working number for Bonvoy elite services. After establishing a connection to member services with the correct phone number I was told that the front desk could and should change to my requested benefit-breakfast. What the front desk wouldn’t do for me they did do, at the request of the phone rep. I went to collect my vouchers and only 1 was handed to me. What? Platinum members are supposed to get one for the member and one for the guest if there is a guest. And certainly I was the obvious guest as I had checked in with my husband’s reservation. The guest services representative at the desk said something about how her manager didn’t like to do this and tried to confuse me about what had happened, but it was obvious that this hotel does not want to honor the Marriott benefit promise. In addition the couple working at the Bistro did not know how to process the vouchers.. I spent at least ten minutes untying that knot with them as they were both new employees. Ya know how one bad apple can spoil the whole bushel sometimes? Well this wasn’t quite that bad because bonus-I had a king suite upgrade even though I had only been able to book a two queen online. The large, well appointed room almost made up for the other issues. There was a problem with one of the electrical outlets near the bed being non-functional. Parking is free, but the road in front of the hotel can get very congested so pulling in and out requires a bit of finesse. KIng Street with its shops and restaurants is a short drive away.
