Stay Report - 1/19 to 1/20 Location: The hotel is located on US 321 about 10 minutes southeast of Downtown Boone and Appalachian State University. It's in an area with a bunch of other hotels, box stores, chain restaurants etc. In fact, there's a Chik-Fil-A on the other side of the hotel parking lot. Hotel: The hotel is typical of newer Fairfield Inns in that it's actually really nice. There's a large free parking lot, small indoor pool, big breakfast area, small sundry store and a small fitness center. Because it's a newer hotel the common areas are all well lit and in good repair. Check In: I had been upgraded in advance to a suite and the agent who checked me in was really friendly and helpful. I also got a little goodie bag with bottled water and snacks. Just what one needs at 10 PM Room: The room was very nice. I like the layout of these newer FI suites. There was a separate living room area with a large couch, TV and a desk plus a bedroom with its own TV and a large bathroom. My only complaint is the Wifi was spotty. Breakfast: Unlike many other FIs the hotel hasn't gone to just to go breakfast. They had scrambled eggs, bacon, waffle makers, pastries, bagels, fruit and yogurt. This is a really good hotel, I'll definitely stay here again when I'm in Boone. …
The photos don’t do this hotel justice it has been remodeled and very modern. From the start staff has been super friendly and nice from the front desk checking us in, too housekeeping and even the gentleman doing the breakfast. Our room was clean and well stocked. We couldn’t be more pleased with our stay here and plan on staying more often. Centrally located to shops and restaurants as well as a short drive to attractions and activities.
We visited Boone in August and chose this hotel for its' convenient location to stores, restaurants and attractions in the area. Room and hotel were both very clean. Quiet. Very friendly staff and a decent breakfast in the morning. We enjoyed our stay in Boone and would happily stay here again.
The 2nd day of our stay I was called on my cell while away from the hotel asking for my ok to have their maintenance person enter the room to do a plumbing repair. This was at approximately 11:00am. I with no hesitation gave my ok. We returned to the hotel around 5:00pm and found our room door unlocked and propped open. I immediately went to the desk to report this & ask that management be notified. I went back to the desk the following morning & asked to speak to the manager. I was told he was not in & requested the problem be reported to him & that he call me. This is two days later & still have not been contacted. While the staff has been very courteous there seemed to be no real concern that the door to my room was not only left unlocked but partially open for over half a day. Obviously this lack of concern carries over to management since NO ONE has contacted me. Because I consider this a SERIOUS breach of security for my belongings I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN.…
Stayed one night checked in late no other choice for night and usually a good sport, but the bathroom was filthy and would not recommend, stay away. Even furniture was stained, shower curtain too short so water all over place, window had broken lock even though accessible from outside open all night, view of outside wall shows management painted only dirty side of wall in view. Just bad stay.
I am a loyal Hilton Diamond member, but decided I need to expand my hotel chain options because Hiton does not always have a presence in the cities/countries I visit, or the price might be very high because they are booked up. Normally stay at the Hampton Inn in Boone (small town) when we go visit our daughter, but this time booked Fairfield for 2 nights to try Marriott for my husband. The room was is awful disrepair. Shower was dirty, cracked and stained. Shower curtain rod missing screws and falling down. Front desk said "sorry, no maintenance on Saturdays". Lady working breakfast told a man working there to keep an eye on breakfast because she had to go across the street for cigarettes before she yelled at someone. Needless to say we will not be back. I fully understand that hotels/restaurants/stores are understaffed right now, and feel for them, but that is no excuse for this situation. I will be sticking with Hilton - I tried.…
We booked at the last minute and were able to get an excellent room. Being lifetime Platinum Elite did help us get an upgrade. The staff was very helpful to suggest places to eat while we were there. It was a short stay, but if ever in the neighborhood again it will be a place we choose.
This was our second stay. Our first stay was in July 2021. Still fairly new the hotel is clean and close to many restaurants. The kitchenette was stocked with all essential dinner and cookware. Linens are soft but pillows are too soft for our liking. Big breakfast is included that included scrambled eggs, pancakes and bacon served by staff not seller either. Staff was very friendly and checkin was a breeze. We would highly recommend this hotel.
Visited Boone for a ski trip and stayed at the Fairfield. Overall, my wife and I had a great experience at the hotel. I am Titanium and we received an upgrade to a King Suite. The room was very nice and very clean. Everything seemed new and modern, except for the bathroom which was a bit dated. Breakfast in the morning was good, but very under-stocked. The staff were hanging out in the breakfast area and eating the food, but not refilling items that ran out. With over an hour left during the breakfast session, I expected things to be replaced.
Dirty room, poor quality breakfast. Terrible experience in refund. The hotel overcharged me and I called the hotel 3 times, they said they would call me back but I did not receive any call back…no refund happened yet. 2 weeks later I called Marriott and they will need 5-7 business days to solve it.
