We are currently in Room 46 which is on the first floor of the log cabin looking building on the hill behind the one story motor lodge that looks scary enough itself. Our room is a good size with 2 beds and a balcony. Unfortunately “Bigfoot” is either living or staying in the room above us and he does jumping jacks all evening past midnight. On our first night I was awakened around 1am because of the noise and when I turned on the bedside lamp, I found a crawling roach. I called the office to complain but it closed at 11pm. I sent a message on Facebook messenger and sent an email with my phone number. Both messages were ignored. Had it not been for the roach and the unbearable noise above us, it would have been a nice stay. The room does need new flooring because of terrible carpet stains. The balcony door is almost impossible to close and lock.…
Went there to help our son and d-i-l move for college. Stayed for two nights, what a mistake. Door into the room was very hard to open (lock in need of repair, door itself sticks). The bathroom was PUNY, the lid on the toilet tank was from a different toilet (didn't fit), there was no lid on the toilet bowl, just a commercial grade seat that was open in the front. The water faucet handle in the tub has no stops, just spins round and round... The light in the bathroom was behind the door so you literally have to go in the bathroom, close the door AND THEN find the light. The kitchen "towel" was literally a reddish-pink bath towel that had been RIPPED into a rectangular shaped kitchen towel. The microwave was ancient (but did work), had a knob to set the time (a "guess-timate"), the carousel didn't work at all. The fridge froze everything you put in it. The walls, although they look like logs pass sound like you're in the same room with the folks next door. There was no literature in the room describing TV channels, wi-fi connection (and that didn't work very well). All told, for the 100$USD they charged per night, you are NOT/NOT gong to get your money's worth, this place just SUCKS. Look elsewhere, you CAN do better than here!!…
First thing we saw entering the room was a roach crawling up the wall. We killed three more over our two night stay. This "non-smoking room" smelled of smoke and there were cigarette stains on the tub which also had several places were the enamel was cracked or missing. There were also cracked ceramic tiles in the entry and sink areas so don't take your shoes off. It was dingy and dated. On the plus side the folks were very nice and there was plenty of hot water.
Don’t be fooled by the pictures.... We arrived at 7:30pm August 6th. The gentleman who checked us in was very nice. We booked a cabin and upon entering the cabin we were welcomed b y a musty smell. It was very dark and many lights did not work. We were just using this cabin to sleep before continuing on with our drive so though we can handle anything for a night. We went to dinner and arrived back to the cabin to sleep. Now noticing the dirty and ripped bedding, broken furniture, etc. There was cigarette smoke coming into our room from the adjoining cabin. We called and complained to the front desk. Upon waking from an awful night sleep we saw how filthy the cabin really was. Stained walls, stained light shades, curtains, etc. We notified the front desk and they offered us a $50 credit, however a full refund should be given for the filth and condition of this cabin which we paid $230 plus tax for. Unacceptable! It’s a shame because the bones of the cabin are adorable.…
We stayed in room 45 on the hill. It was beyond adorable w/ a wood burning fireplace, wing back chair that was a recliner, kitchenette with fridge/stove/sink, a microwave and canopy bed. The bed was super comfortable and the room was totally adequate for a weekend getaway. Super convenient location too. Yes, it’s a bit dated but it just adds to the overall experience. 🌲🌲
Don’t stay there. It’s partially dirty, it stinks with Raid and mold. Bath tube, toilet, and sink were very clean, but people who clean this hotel don’t pay attention to walls at all. Air conditioner is noisy. Nasty place, and a rip-off. Good reviews are cooked.
I'm not sure what the main photo on internet searches is representing this motel but it's not where I stayed. The motel is on a very busy road and it looks like you would expect a one story highway motel to look. I want to say the staff were nice enough. But other than that this was by far the worst accommodation experience I've ever had. The neighbors next to us had dogs in the room. My gut told me to ask for another room, unfortunately I did not listen to my gut. The couple went out to a bar and left the dogs in the room. Said dogs barked until they got back in which I was hoping to actually get to sleep at that point. Nope, that's when the fighting began, for THREE HOURS! Until the man left the hotel at 6:30 am we were able to finally sleep for 1.5 hours until his return. Was not sure whether or not to call the police unfortunately should have. Also, the staff did let us know in the morning there was a number we could have called to contact them. We were set to stay another night which we did since it was already charged to the card, and that was much quieter.…
My wife and I stayed here for an App State football game. The online reviews gave this place too much credit. There are so many issues with this place I don’t know where to start. The rooms have almost no lighting and limited outlets. After we had been there a while, we found a discolored part of the ceiling. Then we found it to be actively leaking! We called the office and moved us to another room. The rug also had holes in it. The new room, not much better. Poor lighting. The jacuzzi had a rusty drain and there was no way we were using it. The peephole in the door was covered with a playing card, no idea what that’s about! We found a wadded up used washcloth behind the bathroom door. The closet bi-fold doors were broken as well This motel seems to have long term renters like construction workers. This place is ok if you need a room for a night or in a pinch or hiding from the law. It’s very dated and in desperate need to updating and renovation. …
We decided to take our children on a last minute trip to the mountains for the weekend. We needed a pet friendly place to stay. Based on average reviews we decided to give this place a try. After checking into the motel, we check the room for any signs of bedbugs and cleanliness...at first didn't notice anything, other than the motel was dated and needed a few minor repairs. However, we woke up at 3 am with bugs crawling on the bed....immediately I began packing and sent my husband to the store to get trash bags to seal and store all of our belongings in until we could get home...a 3 hour drive. We left before the motel office opened as all I could think about was getting my family out of there. We missed an entire day of site seeing due to this. I called the motel back several times only to be told that a manager would return my call to discuss....still no call. I am sickened at the thought that the room has been rented out to someone else. My husbands arms and hands are covered in bites. What was supposed to be nice quite family weekend...turned into a nightmare!…
Stayed here while taking my son on the NC college tour. Place is about 2 miles from Appalachian State U. Not fancy in any way, but the beds were comfy and the staff was super friendly. Cleaning guy even ran out two bottles of water I had left in the room as we were driving off. Great place for the money.
