There were several problems with this house. As we walk into the house there is a very musky smell. There were no forks or spoons. I was looking forward to sitting on the balcony and we could not get the door open. We called the management company and they said it gets stuck sometimes so just pull it open. We did not do that as we did not want to break the door. It took 15 minutes for the water to get hot. The water pressure was awful. We paid a cleaning fee of $448 but this place was not clean. There was dust and dead bugs underneath the furniture. My shower had soap scrum and some mold around the bottom. All the air conditioning units had thick dust on the filters. The air-conditioning unit downstairs in the living area had black stuff coming out of it. There were gaps where the air conditioning units sat in the window big enough for bugs to come in. The pads on the outdoor furniture had mildew on it. The pillows on the living room furniture stunk. The carpets downstairs were dirty and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages. The pantry door was filthy . I will not go back.…
The Inn has a warm appeal as soon as you enter and gets even warmer when you meet the owner, Elaine. The rooms and beds were clean and comfortable, the bathrooms were a bit small but the rooms were spacious with large closets. The porch upstairs and the patio beneath were inviting and the breakfasts were delicious! Best of all it’s in walking distance of restaurants and shopping! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend The Campbell House for a relaxing visit!
I couldn’t have felt more welcome! The spotless and comfortable room with a great A/C, fantastic huge breakfast, and especially the warm welcome from the proprietors made it so nice. They were very generous with their time- and offered to help me out several times. Beyond the call of duty!
Elaine, the host, was gracious and wonderful. And the food she prepared was outstanding. The town of Brevard is quaint and the B&B is within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. We had a great one-night stay and I would highly recommend this B&B.
Egad! We arrived at check-in time and waited, along with two other couples, for 40 minutes... before the proprietor even showed up. The six of us milled around for a while inin the absence of any help, or even a note on the door... but the owner finally arrived. She was, shall we say, hardly Emily Post. Her first words to us... far from apologizing for the delay, or for the lack of communication...were instead to point out that we'd picked the wrong room in her absence. Her tone was clearly one that indicated impatience with us, her poor uneducated guests, who could nether find their room nor arrive in time. I didn't mind the confusion; these things happen and it's not the end of the world. Rather it was the aggressive attitude and the assumption that we, the guests, were in the wrong...that pushed my last button. We decided to check back out and go to the local Holiday Inn. The Campbell House seems intent on keeping our money. Fair enough, and lesson learned. At least on our part. …
We absolutely loved staying at the Campbell House in Brevard. It is a beautiful home that is very tastefully decorated. We stayed in Sassafras Knob and found it to be roomy and comfortable. My husband enjoyed reading on the balcony and I enjoyed the cushy bed for my reading :) Elaine and Ken were excellent hosts who made us feel very welcome and “at home.” Breakfast was a quiche (or, as we call it in the south, Breakfast Pie) served with bacon, fresh fruit, orange juice and coffee. The location could not be better. Brevard’s Main Street is a nice stroll with interesting shops and restaurants. One of the best restaurants is directly across the street from Campbell House, Marco’s. Campbell House is also located very close to the Brevard Music Center. Go. You will not be disappointed.…
We stayed last minute at the Campbell House and Elaine was so friendly and accommodating. We spent one evening watching the Country music awards. Our room was great and the breakfast was excellent. We will stay there again. We had a great time in Brevard and our host was like family.
We needed a place for just one night, most similar places in Brevard required a two night minimum stay. We were in Brevard to pick our daughter up from the Brevard distance running camp at Brevard college, and only needed pne night. Our room was upstairs (Caney Bottom room), it has a nice size king bed and room to move around. The bathroom was a little small, but private within the unit. There is a very nice relaxing porch on the 2nd floor front of the Inn facing Main Street, suitable for sitting with other guests and drinking wine into the evening, There is also a nice garden sitting area out front on the ground level that is also very nice. Elaine showed us around and pretty much gave us free reign around including to use wine glasses from the kitchen area. Breakfast is served family style in the large dining room, with a table that sat at least 7 (our two and two other 2 person groups) the morning we were there and plenty of room around it. Elaine served juice and coffee, a fruit dish to start, muffins, bacon, and a delicious quiche type casserole dish with sliced tomatoes on top. Overall a very nice stay in a friendly comfortable atmosphere, and only a block or two walk to the center of town. We walked to the Square Root for dinner and it was excellent ( see separate review). Parking is on the street but there was plenty available in front of the Inn.…
My husband and I stayed at the Campbell House this past Memorial Day Weekend 2017 so that we could enjoy The White Squirrel Festival, among other things, in Brevard. I want this to come across as a good review, but there are a few negatives that I would like to point out as a matter of honesty. First, the hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating; we instantly felt as though we were visiting old friends! Also, you just can't beat the location of the this bed and breakfast; walking distance from downtown Brevard makes getting around and, uh-hum, imbibing a bit too much very user-friendly. In fact, we did not move our vehicle at all during our stay, and we were able to keep an eye on it parked right in front of the house. Tasty, big breakfast though NOT PARTICULARY GLUTEN FREE IF THIS IS AN ISSUE FOR YOU (I have celiac). Overall, pretty clean. Ok, now a couple of : no TV in our room, our bathroom window opened to the balcony, which could've been very embarrassing had we not quickly closed the window more than once (seems like there was always someone sitting right there!). Also, the sink in our bathroom was REALLY slow. Overall, pretty clean; but saw a few places that looked like they hadn't been deep cleaned in a while. Had a good time, and loved our hosts, but also wouldn't feel guilty staying elsewhere while in Brevard.…
We were travelling to Brevard, NC to see my daughter perform in an opera at put on by the Brevard Music Center summer program. The entire town is an art Mecca in the summer it seems. My wife found this quaint little B&B that was practically IN the downtown area, and we actually ate dinner one night at a restaurant across the street on the very next block. It was easy to wander down and peruse all of the shops in town. Elaine was a pleasant and gracious host, and runs a very clean and efficient operation there. She serves breakfast family style as a group at 8:30am which was great. Varied menu from day to day (we stayed two nights). Our room was spacious, clean and cute. Probably the only slightly negative aspect was some weak water pressure in the shower, but not really an issue - just not what we are used to. There is a beautiful second floor balcony with lights, comfortable seating and ceiling fans to keep the heat and bugs at bay so you could sit outside well past sundown and enjoy the cooler part of the day (it is HOT in NC in July)! We would definitely call her if we have the opportunity to be in Brevard again.…
