Ponderosa Pines was really a great place at a great deal for our family of 8! The campground is well taken care of, and well appointed, especially to only be 14 acres! It was great for our dog as well. They have a store, they even have s'more kits at a great price and super dry firewood to boot. We are already thinking about returning.
The cabin was super clean and it was great for a last minute accommodation. Took a trip on a whim and they got us right in. Would absolutely stay there again whenever in the area. Very private and peaceful! Our dogs loved it also!
Ashgrove is owned by Esther and her husband. They are so accommodating and friendly. The area is covered in a beautiful canopy of trees with several hiking trails. Dog friendly!! The restrooms and showers were very clean. The area quiet ( weekday). We look forward to coming back and seeing more waterfalls. Make sure you hike early foe the falls as it gets very busy.
Ash Grove is an absolutely beautiful mountain campsite and rental cabin destination. The owners are the hardest working folks I have ever seen. I was exhausted watching them help people get settled, emptying recyclables, cleaning, and trimming trees. You can tell they love the place and it shows. I highly recommend the experience. You will love the trails for hiking and the limited disturbance they have with their campsite footprints. Beautiful maples, fern beds, and a delightful waterfall at the end of one of the trails. Whitetail deer, chipmunks, and the famous Brevard white squirrels (along with lots of brown ones) were observed from the camper and trails. Many birds including a delightful murder of crows that passes through a couple of times each day. I have stayed at Forest Service campgrounds on Highway 276 and this one, being off the main highway, has less traffic noise, especially once the times to go and come from work have passed. The showers are hot and the bath house immaculate. They have on-site wood for cozy campfires and a nearby store for those items you forgot to bring. When I’m in the area, I’ll be staying at this campground!…
My daughter and I stayed in the Gnome Home during a mid-week trip. It was clean, well thought-out, and had many unique touches (a shout-out here for the leaf-shaped shutters on the door). The trees, rocks, moss, lichens and stuff near our site were in unusually good condition, giving the feeling that we were somewhere much more remote. This made just relaxing around the site very satisfying. The trails around the grounds are not super long, but they're nice. There is a waterfall that is small, but very soothing nonetheless. I definitely recommend wandering around to take it all in. This is a nice option to stretch your legs or get a change of scenery without needing to get in the car. I somehow managed to see a white squirrel within minutes of arriving. We also saw lots of "blue ghost" fireflies. A doe passed near our site multiple times. We didn't tent camp, but passed by several "stellar sites" on the trails. Some are quite secluded (other than the passing trail). These gave more of a backpacking vibe than the typical tent site. If you like to chill in the forest, you should definitely check Ash Grove out.…
Our cabin was just perfect. The owners were super friendly and had everything anyone would need from personal hygiene to mints on the pillows to having maps, print off on the places to go and visit. 💞
If you are looking for a perfect family vacation you MUST stay here. Not only is the area perfect for hiking (see photo) and so many other outdoor activities but the owners of this campground are delightful people! The campground itself is beautifully maintained and gorgeous. We have stayed at both the tent sites and cabins and throughly enjoyed both. You won't be disappointed! We are already planning our next visit.
The place is just magical. Best kept campground I’ve been to in a long time. If you like tent camping with some privacy, this is your place. Beautiful trails to hike and a lovely stream and waterfall to admire. Lovely people running it, Esther and Mark. Always available and kind.
This was our third trip and we will keep coming back. The camp sites are nicely spaced out and the trees are great for hammocks and shade. The bath house is clean and well stocked. My sister and brother in law have stayed in a cabin; it was immaculate, well stocked and very comfortable. The owners, Mark and Esther are on property and are very helpful and gracious. This is a family oriented, peaceful place - perfect for an escape!
This has been one of the best vacations I have ever taken in my life. The cabin was cozy and romantic. We had a fire pit right next to the cabin and a nice little trail that led to a mini water fall. The cabin had everything we needed and it was very clean. The screened porch had a wonderful sitting area where we had wine and celebrated our anniversary. The owners Ester and Mark were amazing and extremely friendly. The location was great as well. The cabin was about a 15 minute drive from Brevard which is a charming little town with beautiful stores and wonderful restaurants. They even had a store called the white squirrel which apparently is a thing in Brevard. We did not see any white squirrels but we certainly did see plenty of water falls. Looking glass falls, Pigsah National Forest, Dupont National Park and Connestee falls were all close and to the cabins and well worth seeing. I give Ash Grove 5 stars. I can't wait to go back. Also if you have pets they are very pet friendly. My dog loved the stay as well. She gave it 10 stars. (Go figure). Thank you Ester and Mark for being such great host and thank you Raul for the recommendation. Sincerely, Julia Fuentes…
