The Sunset Motel is a hip, unique and affordable 50's roadside motor court that has been lovingly "retrovated" with modern amenities (Wifi, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, blow dryer,flat-screen TV,HBO,Cable). We are always improving! Our little blast-from-the-past is centrally located between DuPont & Pisgah Forests and within walking distance to Brevard's picturesque downtown. Each room is unique and all, save one, are on the ground-level, 5 with kitchens/kitchenettes. Lounge about on our patio in vintage chairs and strike up a conversation with other guests over a glass of your fave libation. We offer the best of Southern hospitality. Come as our guest. Leave as our friend! (Designated pet rooms available and we are 100% smoke-free inside with a designated smoking area outside.)

We loved this retro motel. It was roomy enough and well equipped. Staff was helpful and friendly. We plan to stay there again.our room was quiet even though the hotel was full and we saw some guests with dogs. The recommendation Brian gave us for dinner was outstanding. (Quixote)

We have stayed here once before, but this time took our daughter and grandson. We had 3 adjoining rooms, one with a small kitchen. The kitchen was small, but very well stocked with dishes and utensils. Our grandson loved to be able to run through all the rooms when we were inside because of rain. Great workers there that truly cared to be able to help at check in and when we needed extra coffee and towels ( housekeeping opened the room when my husband locked me out and was sleeping so soundly that he didn’t hear me at the door). We look forward to staying here again!

Wonderful and relaxing place. The rooms are extremely clean and the Owner and Staff are honest, friendly and accommodating. Its an "Old School" style motel in the late 50"s early 60's theme where you park in front of the rooms with an overhang over room entrances with chairs outside your door to relax and chat when you return from your activity. The bathrooms are tile and porcelain and are so clean they shine. You use a real key and drop it in safety box when you leave. The location is very convenient to downtown Brevard. I enjoy it very much and look forward along with my wife to our next visit. Carl B.

We came up for a long weekend during one of the biggest snowstorms in years. The sunset motel was way more than we expected, we started in a regular hotel room with 2 queen beds which was perfect and just want we needed. We have 2 dogs with us and it’s only $20 per pet for your entire stay. As the weather turned and was predicted to get worse we ran into the owners who offered us to stay in the cabin in the back for a small fee which was absolutely amazing and they did not need to do. I would stay here again for sure, we had a kitchen, living room, 2 queen beds a rollaway bed (which we did not need and all the comforts of home). I would highly recommend this motel to anyone it is close to downtown, cute and the owners are amazing!!! We will be back for sure!

The Sunset Motel is just the cutest older modest motel. But don't let that fool you. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the king suite was large enough to be able to relax and unwind after enjoying the waterfalls nearby. The kitchen was so well stocked. It had a FULL set of pots and pans, dishes, utensils along with a mini fridge, microwave, stove and sink. The living room area had two futon type couches, if needed and a TV and even a Victrola (how many of us would remember that). The bedroom also had another TV, incase you watched different programs. The floors were laminate so very dog friendly. The outside of the motel had several seating areas, hammocks, and picnic table to enjoy the outdoors. If you like staying in Mom and Pop type motels, this is a MUST. You are close to so many state parks and waterfalls, hikes and the close conveniences of a Food Lion and Ingles, plus restaurants. There is a rib/brisket drive thru across the street that has really, really good bbq and the BEST fries. So if visiting Brevard this is a great place to stay.

This fun little motel was so much nicer than the large chain hotels with no personality. I was traveling with my dog and had a quiet room in the back where she wasn’t nervous with hearing strangers walking by. Accommodating hosts on every level. Location a short walk from downtown. Will definitely stay here again

My wife and I just recently stayed for three nights over Valentine's Day weekend to get out and do some hiking and mountain biking in Brevard, and sunset motel was our obvious choice for this time of year. The price alone is all the reason you might need, but also it's proximity to all of the local dining and small shops. Also an added bonus it's only a 10 minute drive to The Pisgah Forest ranger district to get outdoors and enjoy the area and it's natural beauty. The motel was no frills. You get a fridge, microwave, TV and a hot shower along with clean beds. From what I understand, there are also many improvements in the pipeline for the near future that we will be looking forward to enjoying during future visits. 10 out of 10 if you aren't looking for a resort.

We stayed one night at The Sunset Motel with our two children in a room with two Queen beds and it was perfect! The room was spotless, as was the bathroom. There was a vanity outside of the bathroom with the sink, which made getting in and out for four people, much more manageable. The room was bright and cheerful. The staff in the front office were very friendly and extremely helpful. There’s even a number to text if you have a question, which I did early one morning. I highly recommend this “retro-vated” motel if you want to be near downtown Brevard!

We stayed at the Sunset Motel during a recent getaway. We loved it. It’s very clean and has been nicely updated at some point. They are taking precautions during Covid so there isn’t daily room service but they will give you new towels or sheets if needed and they take the trash. We appreciated all of that. If you are in Brevard this is where you should stay!

Colorful 1950's exterior, run by gracious, involved, friendly staff. Could not ask for a better experience. Appreciate how beautifully updated room was available to share with our bundle of fur. Sounds of other dogs muted by physical facilities; staff treated us like family. will return any time we are near Brevard in the future.
