Very rustic, rolling floors, but so friendly and comfortable. The food was great and the entire place is cozy and relaxing. Bryson City is quaint and a great place for day trips to Smokey Mountains, Blue Ridge Parkway, river rafting, railroad, hiking, fishing, etc.

I love that the Fryemont Inn resonates with the slower pace of an earlier time. The floors slant and creak. The furnishings are simple, clean, and comfortable. The employees are friendly and helpful; every single one we encountered seemed happy to see us and several...More

This Inn is full of history, but very accommodating for modern travelers as well. The porch is the best place for reading. The lobby is loaded with books, games, puzzles, and everything you could want. Tea, coffee, and hot chocolate is available at all times....More

The train station is 5 minutes from the lodge. Bryson City is very small, so if anything is within the city, it won't take long to get to it. I don't know anything about the ballooning events. You might contact the lodge... More

Hello. The cabins and balcony rooms have wifi. There is wifi available in the lobby of the lodge. Wifi is not available in all the rooms; but this IS an experience of being free from the short chain.
