This place is run down and stinky. The odor of the room hits you as soon as you open the door. The furniture is ratty and falling apart. No in room Wi-Fi, have to go to the lobby for Wi-Fi. Not oceanfront (but a short walk to the beach). The observation tower is the only nice thing about this place....

The place is a pit. There was fungus on the walls, bugs in the room, furniture falling apart, and rust in the tub. No breakfast offered during your stay and from the look of the place that may be a blessing (wouldn't want to eat anything they made on premises). I wouldn't let my dogs stay here and I certainly...

When we checked in, they had given us a room with 2 doubles instead of a king. They did fix that and the 2nd room did SMELL a little better than the first. The room smelled like they were trying to cover the smell with air freshener. Try removing the stinky carpet!!! Went to get juice in lobby from juice...

This was a very bare bones hotel, I'm not sure why I booked here, their photos must have been photo shopped. The mattress was so thin and uncomfortable. The bath towels had to be the thinest and cheapest I'v ever encountered! The mold and mildew hit you strong when you walk through the door. I didn't have a blow dryer...

Room was not ready until 5 o'clock check in is at 4 o'clock. Staff was unprofessional and rooms were dirty. There was no in room wifi and the pool was tiny. Do not stay here take the extra time to research the area and spend a little money if you have to.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hatteras Island Inn. It was everything that we needed for a fun last minute getaway. The room wasn't spotless but it was clean enough. I'll get the bad out of the way first - the lamp by the bed was a little dusty and had a cob web to the wall, the front of...

We stayed here because we could not get a room in Ocracoke because of the Ocrafolk festival. We knew that the Hatteras lighthouse was here but did not realize how run-down Buxton is. This was probably not the worst hotel there, but the fabric was peeling off the chair seats and I found a piece of peanut on one of...

After pricing the other places on Hatteras further down the island we decided on this place and glad we did. We sat out by the pool with a bottle of wine and watched the sun set and then walked over to the beach which was about 100 yards. The light house is just a short drive down the road. The...

Extremely old hotel and reminded me of hotels in the 1960s. The room smelled musky. The rooms were not very clean and neither was the bathroom. Lamps had rust on them. Mattresses are uncomfortable. The beach is 6 houses away from the hotel. Don't believe the reviews that state you can walk to the lighthouse. Only two locations were within...

The inn has modern amenities wrapped in a modest package of ordinary. The hotel is clean, beds are acceptably comfortable. The TV turns on, the AC is acceptably quiet and cooling. Beyond that? The shower features hot and cold water. The bathroom is clean. Beyond that? It is the most modern looking inn in Buxton, a neat community on NC's...
