I needed one night's stay at a reasonable rate and this fit the bill. Because it isn't on the water it was 30% less than similar places. There was plenty of parking and a swimming pool. The room was clean and it had a king sized bed, tv, small fridge and microwave. It seemed to be freshly painted but it...

Larry, thank-you for taking the time to review our establishment. We were pleased to hear your review. Our staff takes all suggestions seriously & we are in the process of providing a place to hang clothing in all rooms & anticipate this to be in place by the start of the season. Again, thanks for the review Laurie W.

Started out as a mini family reunion but turned into a huge one! I booked one suite, added another for more family and then my cousins added another. The owner and staff were very friendly, helpful, caring and I could tell they wanted my stay to be a pleasant experience! The suite (102) was very spacious, my room (106) had...

We took a quick trip to the beach for a couples weekend. Most of the rooms in other hotels were taking or expensive. We seen this one and checked it out. The lady at the front desk was so nice, you get to see if you like the room before you spend money on it,that was great. We was only...

I was happily surprised by this little gem, we had spent the weekend getting married at The Durham hotel so had been properly spoiled. we wanted to get away but didnt want to leave our dog behind. we hit bad weather so the drive was twice as long as expected.. we were happy to find the lazy pirate next door...

I stayed at Drifters Reef one night to catch the ferry to Southport the next morning. I arrived around 10:30 PM and was happy to get some rest. I was there for like 6 hours and it was a bed and a shower. I always check for bedbugs and did not see any in my room. It is basic. It...

I rarely write reviews, I don’t go around trashing local establishments because I feel I have been “Wronged” I am not that guy, I also am aware that a low budget motel is exactly that but… I stayed over the night of October 1st, 2016 I stayed with my friend in room 212 and I was in the bed closest...

The only thing they have going positive is the cheap rate during heavy peak vacation ($164 per night). The air conditioner was loud and blows out warm air. The room was not cleaned well - doesn't appear that they care. Parking was horrible since they did not reinforce towing on non-paying guests. They have benches by the room door which...

Checked in around 5 pm. Room was over 100 degrees because the a/c was set to fan. Checked bed as always and found tons of long back hair, black specks and some unknown substance on bedding. Lady at desk was very nice, apologizing and said she'd take care of it which she did. Small holes in walls, cracked outlet covers....

This was my 3rd trip to the same hotel. Our first night, the couple next door sat outside on the bench smoking and it was coming in our room, which already smelled like smoke. There were only blinds on the window and large security lights in the parking lot so our room was well lit at bedtime. We put our...

Recently spent 3 nights here. The location is convenient and the Lazy Pirate Bar and Grill is next door. The pool is fairly nice and the motel is very colorful on the outside but the rooms are lacking. The bed slept good but the pillows were flat as pancakes. The carpet is awful and needs replacing badly. I don't think...
