If only God had bless me to own a home in one of these mountain towns it's really something for people who are family oriented too...

We stayed at the High Hampton Inn & Country Club for four days in early June 2016 (arrived Sunday, departed Thursday). We chose the Rock Mountain Cottage (#85), which everyone told us was the best unit because of the view. The Rock Mountain Cottage had two queen-sized beds and seemed a little crowdy (the passageway to the bathroom was narrow)....

Family, time together and simplicity all nestled a beautiful mountain atmosphere. Hope you return soon and again thank you. Respectfully, Clifford Meads

We stayed here last summer, and I've been meaning to get this written for quite a bit of time. We stayed here as a group of 8. I had a room with my nephew. At first he was an emotional wreck about not having a TV in our room. It took him telling me about his life and family, sister,...

Comfortable rooms, delicious meals with the 'All American Plan' - but the highlight is the atmosphere in the building and on the ground: In a well kept historic landmark, in a most beautiful setting including a lake for swimming and fishing. With spa-offerings nearby, various sports activities including tennis and golf and abundant hikes directly from the inn as well...

My wife and adult children stayed here for two nights in the main Inn. The main building has about thirty rooms and the cabins add about a hundred more. The whole property has been maintained remarkably well. Our rooms were smallish but comfortable. We had a king bed and the other room had a queen and a twin. The staff...

A native of NC living in Europe, I've brought my family to stay at High Hampton about 5 times in recent years, as we brought our children to summer camp in the NC mountains. We love the place, it is special. It is not your typical resort. there is no pool, no TVs in rooms - it is basically indoor...

Thank you very much for taking the time to write. You are so very correct – this is not your typical resort and in many ways we take pride in that. Being family owned for now 94 years the resort has a “home” feeling. We do not pretend to be anything other than what we are and you described it...

If you liked the movie: dirty dancing then you need to check this place out. Don't expect any luxury hotel - if you are looking for that move on. This is a wonderful place to come back every year. The rooms or cottages are all pretty run down and no tv nor Internet - the beds are ok but that's...

Thank you and what an accurate account of the “feel” here although we would have preferred a better description of our cottages. Glad you liked our food as we think that is very important to any and all guests. Incidentally, the remake of Dirty Dancing was filmed on property this early Spring. It was a fun time and they could...

I have been going to High Hampton since I was a little girl. Thank you so very much for the greatest review anyone could ask for especially when it is the first one of our 94th season. This place is on a great piece of property, but the owners must be swimming in profits, as their prices are extremely high and they obviously have not put anything back into their investment in years. I love and understand the rustic feel, but some of these places have indoor/outdoor carpet, when I would have at least expected rustic hardwoods....

Thank you for your comments and your visit. We have looked into hardwood floors for the Honeymoon cottage but with the carpet being relatively new we planned to do that after another season. Many of our cottages have hardwood flooring but not that particular one. For those reading this the amenities in that particular cottage are kitchenette, refrigerator, microwave, coffee...

A southern version of the famous Great Camps of the Adirondacks, historic High Hampton Inn is located on a 1,400-acre estate in Cashiers, NC. This full-service resort has a focus on the great outdoors and takes advantage of the natural setting. A sumptuous Spa, 18-hole George W.
