This hotel is way over priced at $300 per night. The parking lot is under construction and there is limited parking, forcing you to park on the street. Find an alternative, such as the Marriott Courtyard.

James M, Thank you for your candid feedback about your stay. I'm sorry that we failed to deliver a fair value for the price that you paid. The parking garage repair has been a challenging issue for us, and I know how inconvenient that must have been for you to have to park on the street. We have refunded all...

We stayed at the Franklin for two nights for my son's admitted students day. It was wonderful. We will be back many times over the next four years! Classic hotel beautifully renovated. Nice bar/lounge. Breakfast delicious. Short walk to campus.

We had a great stay at the hotel. Everything was very close in walking distance that we wanted to visit. The staff was courteous and delightful. We dined at the restaurant for breakfast and it was delicious! Excited to stay again!

For the price we paid and the other reviews saying this was as good as the Carolina Inn, I was disappointed. While the room was very nice, clean, and comfortable, the balcony wall was so high, you had to stand to see over it. The common area décor was a bit tacky and worn. The location, however, is great and...

Hi gerrie220, I'm sorry that you were disappointed with your experience at The Franklin. Our hotel is approaching 10 years of age, and you are right that some of the decor is very worn. We have already started renovating our spaces section by section. We just recently finished a complete overhaul of our meeting space, and will turn next to...

I couldn't find a bad thing to say about The Franklin if I tried. Clean, quiet, in a great neighborhood. Staff was friendly and all was well. I arrived late and my room was held for me as well. Plenty of parking. Nice heavy clean towels.

Thanks for your generous comments DarrenKyle. Our towels are a joy to use - they are 900 GSM (grams per square meter), which is about 3 times as heavier than typical hotel towels. Makes for a luxurious shower experience! Jay

Located Right on Franklin St for shopping and restaurants; very close to UNC. Beds were perfect - nice and firm. Quiet location, too. Step out the door and Walk left to get to funkier restaurants and higher end shops; walk right to get to the university, quick eats, and t-shirt shops.
