We’ve enjoyed this fine hotel on many previous occasions — and it’s always the highlight of every trip to North Carolina. Everything about the property is top-notch, from the immaculate grounds, the safe and well-lighted parking and the spotless facilities. You will love the fitness room with 2 treadmills, 2 Peloton bikes, an elliptical, mats, towels and free weights. The laundry room has 4 washers ($1) and 4 dryers ($1.50) — and everything works! Business center is operational. You will also be impressed by the friendly professionalism of staffers like Jerry, Kyle and a night desk man who will astound you with how cheerful he is even at dawn after working all night. If you miss breakfast (6:30 weekdays, 7 a.m. weekends for 3 hours), you will never forgive yourself: Scrambled eggs and another hot egg specialty each day… bacon and sausages alternately… some of the best homemade biscuits you’ll ever taste… fresh oranges/green apples/bananas… individual milk cartons (even fat-free)… and of course a variety of breads/bagels/scones. Rooms have windows that open and are screened. Only a few rooms come with an oven so be sure to plan ahead if you need one. The views of nature all around the hotel are inspiring. No surprise we can’t wait to return here, again and again. Thank you so much, GM Dale!

Clean, comfortable, convenient with friendly and helpful staff at check in. However, dogs are allowed here, even on upper floors, and we heard dogs barking in the room next to us and across the hall. We were awakened by barking dogs. We love dogs, but when traveling, think they should only be allowed on the 1st floor of a motel/hotel/inn.. This allows those of us that left their pets at home to enjoy a quieter stay.

Stay here! This was by far the best Residence Inn and possibly the best hotel that I have ever stayed. It started with a helpful and very professional greeting to an impeccably clean facility. The lobby was welcoming with ample seating area. The rooms were clean and like most residences inn had lots of space snd a full suite of appliances. Breakfast and coffee were on point! Waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fruit, bagels and a few other items. The server was available at all times and was cleaning a table as soon as someone left. Although this was a family trip, I stay in lots of hotels due to my job. I only wish all were half as good as Residence Inn of Chapel Hill. Thank you to every employee that I met. It was obvious they took pride in there job, the hotel and customers.

Still trying to figure out why this place has such high ratings. I chose this for a 2 night stay. From the outside the building is attractive. However the interior is dark and dated.

The shower / toilet area is the worst! There is a single lightbulb in the exhaust fan and someone decided to use an energy efficient bulb. So when you enter and for several minutes afterwards it feels like you are in a cave. The dark brown shower walks and beige floor also don’t help. And know that the beds are very close to the bathroom. You can hear everything happening in the bathroom while lying in bed.

Know before you go:
*Staff is very friendly
*Hallways are darkly decorated
*Hotel allows pets which we weren’t aware of when making our plans. Even with COVID and a less than full hotel we were placed next to a large, loud family who owned a dog. I love animals but I don’t want to pay to listen to children bickering and dogs barking.
*On first night of stay there was a fire alarm and everyone evacuated while fire personnel investigated. After a while guests just started going back into the hotel on their own. Staff didn’t stop them or ever let us know what was happening.
*There are no restaurants in walking distance.
*Carpeting (especially hallways) need to be cleaned).
*There are NO ice machines! So if you are planning to fill your cooler, make an alternate plan.
*Guest laundry is available: $1 wash/$1.50 dry.
*Pool deck chairs need to be replaced-they are very faded and worn.

We found the hotel to be dirty and in need of a major upgrade. The tile on the floor in our bathroom was disgusting. Four different grout colors and all the tile moved as you stepped on it. The small kitchen table had a broken leg. One of the nightstands was replaced with a round table and the light was held in the socket with duck tape. The hallway smells like urine. We always stay in Marriott and have stayed in several residence inns. This one is the worst we have ever stayed in. We would not recommend

Our double queen was spacious and had a full kitchen including a dishwasher though we didn't use the kitchen facilities. Room and motel were very clean and the breakfasts were quite good. Choice of omelets or biscuits and gravy the two days we were there. HVAC was fine. Grounds were nice. Tub was a bit slippery but it did have a bar to hold.

Only issue: I didn't think the beds were as comfortable as they might have been. A bit soft. And fitted sheet didn't quite cover the bed as well as it should have.

Otherwise a nice hotel.

I have stayed here before. The hotel was full. The HVAC was quiet. The room was immaculate. The bed was comfortable. The check was seamless as was checkout. It is conveniently located to the UNC campus and shopping. The breakfast had cereal, fruit, oatmeal, scrambled eggs and sausage, along with biscuits and sausage gravy. It was a very pleasant stay.

Really enjoyed this hotel overall. Liked the large room with kitchenette, large pool, decent breakfast was included, friendly staff. Big issue was internet connection. There is very weak signal and the free wifi isn't better. My computer kept trying to find the connection and my other devices ran very slowly. You can pay for increased speed but that feels a little like a scam.

We stopped here with our dog while passing through the area. It was perfectly nice, clean and comfortable. The only downside was that the lobby coffee station was empty when we checked out, so we did not get to have any coffee before getting back on the road. I would definitely stay here again. The grounds are beautiful.

The hotel is in a great location, and the staff is very nice, but the rooms, walls, carpets, etc. all need a refresh. It doesn't look like this hotel has been updated at all in the past 10+ years. Torn carpets, peeling table tops, poorly made beds, overly used cutting boards and dirty dishes in the cabinets greeted me in my room.

With some updating and deep cleaning, this place would truly shine.

I saw lots of dogs, including a rather large one at this property, but would recommend calling them before you travel to ensure you are aware of any additional charges that may apply.
